Yuna Hina

Yuna Hina was one of the female students that attended Akademi High School. She now appears as a background character in the town.

Appearance

Yuna wore the default female school uniform unless customized by the player.

As of the March 1st, 2015 Build^[1] until the February 8th, 2016 Build, she had olive colored hair worn in a ponytail identical to Yui Rio's old hair, but it was swept to the left instead, and her eyes were light yellow.

As of the February 8th, 2016 Build, she had dirty yellow hair kept up in a high ponytail worn on the left with her bangs swept to the right. She had a slight cowlick on the left side of her ponytail, and her eyes were dark yellow. Her bust size was 0.8.

As of the January 16th, 2017 Build, Yuna wore a yellow friendship bracelet on her right wrist.

As of the February 2nd, 2017 Build, Yuna wore yellow stockings and panties.

Personality

Yuna had the Social Butterfly persona. She would happily pose for a picture if the player aimed their camera at her. If she saw a corpse or witnessed a murder, she would run to the nearest secluded area and call the police. She couldn't participate in physical fights against murderers.

Routine

At 7:05 AM, Yuna entered the school grounds. She walked to her locker at 7:10 AM and changed from her outdoor shoes to her indoor shoes. At 7:15 AM, she walked into the plaza, to the left side of the fountain, and gossiped with Yui Rio, Koharu Hinata, Mei Mio, Saki Miyu, and Kokona Haruka.

At 8:00 AM, Yuna walked into Classroom 1-2 and sat at her desk. She started her morning classes at 8:30 AM, and left to go to the cafeteria to gossip at 1:00 PM.

Yuna walked back to class again at 1:30 PM and participated in cleaning time between 3:30 PM and 4:00 PM. Afterwards, she headed to the Cooking Club and stayed there until 5:00 PM. She then headed to her locker and changed from her indoor shoes to her outdoor shoes, then she lingered there until 5:15 PM, when she walked home.

In Buraza Town, Yuna walks around, looking at the scenery, and can be seen on the edge of the town, looking towards the ocean.

Trivia

Yuna's hairstyle before the February 8th, 2016 Build was changed because YandereDev thought her previous hairstyle was "low budget" and "amateurish".^[2]
Her name is a reference to the most popular female Japanese names in 2012, the third most popular being Yuna, and the fourth most popular being Hina.^[3]^[4]
Name 優奈 Yuna means ”Excellence” (優 Yu means ”Excellence”, and 奈 Na is a phonetic character). Surname 雛 Hina means ”Chick”.
In older versions of the game, Yuna Hina's name was Mio Akiya.^[5] The placeholder name was inspired by Mio Akiyama from K-ON.^[6]
Her male counterpart is Sota Yuki.
Before the June 29th, 2016 Build, Yuna used to arrive on school grounds 3rd in line on the left side, at 7:05 AM.
As of the August 18th, 2018 Build, Yuna has been removed from the game. YandereDev said that she (with the other rainbow students) will be put back into the game once the frame rate is stable, and if not, then she (along with the other removed rainbow students) will appear in 1980s Mode.
Yuna Hina and the rest of the rainbow six (except Saki) appear in the town as of October 17th 2019.
