How do I add a source (reference, citation)?[]
If you're confused what we're talking about, it's this:"[1]". If you however your cursor over it or click on it, it will show you some text or image hidden inside — in most cases, it is a source of the information provided.
There are two ways of adding it:
- If you prefer visual editor, click on a bookmark icon and insert the image or link.
- If you prefer source code, use
<ref>example</ref>
tag.
If you plan to use a reference once in a page, use: <ref>Reference example</ref> If you plan to use a reference more than twice in a page, use: <ref name="ExampleRefName">Reference example</ref> When you use the reference a second time, simply add <ref name="ExampleRefName"/>. "ExampleRefName" can be any name for a reference, if it's not excessively long.

Trivia Policy[]
For more in-depth guidelines, see Manual of Style.
When adding new trivia or asking the developer question, please keep in mind that they have to be interesting, presenting a character under new light, in unusual circumstances or providing in-depth description of their personality or story. The following questions should generally be avoided unless they somehow satisfy the criteria mentioned above:
- Minor preferences, such as color, food, music, etc.
- Normal or expected, in-character reactions to any situations.
- Example of a boring and unnecessary question would be "How would Osoro react to being slapped?" Even if the original question was "How would each rival react to being slapped?", it is completely unnecessary to add such trivia to Osoro's page, as her reaction is extremely predictable and consistent with her main description.
- On the other hand, a description of her reaction to being thanked by Horuda for scaring off bullies should be added, as it provides an insight into a side of her personality that is not mentioned in her main description or explained in depth in other parts of the article at the moment of adding it.
- Don't forget basic etiquette! Keep in mind that you're not the only one sending fan-email with questions; don't ask too many questions at one time, including questions about multiple characters merged into one question, or don't be upset when some questions may not be answered. According to YandereDev himself, he prefers extremely specific questions, so that the answers can be as concise and comprehensive as possible.
Who edited a specific article?[]
The wiki automatically keeps the logs and all content ever added to it; even if someone removes some content from a page, it will still be accessible through its history. Additionally, it also lets users compare two versions of the same page and see the changes made to it.
- Accessing Recent Changes
You can access the recent changes to any article by clicking on the "Recent changes" link that you can found in the sidebar or under a tab at the top of the page. This allows you to quickly see which pages have been edited and who made the changes. It’s useful for monitoring activity across multiple pages.
- History
Each page on the wiki has a "History" tab that you can see on the three dots option above. With this feature you can see a detailed log of every change made to the article such as:
- The username or IP address of the editor;
- The date and time the edit occurred;
- A summary of the changes made;
- The option to compare versions to see exactly what was altered.
- This is particularly helpful when you're trying to understand what changed between edits. You can select two or more different versions from the article's history and compare them side by side. The comparison will highlight what was added, removed, or modified.
- Files versions
Files (like images or videos) that are used in the article have versions too. By clicking on the file itself, you can access the history of that file, including any edits or replacements made.
How do I rollback vandalism?[]
- Undo
If you plan to manually undo an edit made by a user, you can easily do so by finding the edit you want to reverse, clicking "diff", clicking "(undo)", and then click "SAVE CHANGES". If you are on mobile, you'll have to scroll down before saving the changes.
- Through history
To undo an edit through history, you should open the history page by clicking the three vertical dots to the right of the Edit button, find the previous edit, click "prev", and save the changes. If you are on mobile, you'll have to scroll down before saving the changes.
If you have rollback permissions, simply click "Rollback" on the latest edit to undo the changes.
- Rollback
As a staff member or rollbacker on the Yandere Simulator Wiki, you can quickly undo an edit with the "Rollback" feature. This tool is exclusive to users with rollback rights or staff members. To rollback an edit:
- Find an edit you want to revert.
- Look for a button called "Rollback". Once the button is clicked, it will rollback an edit made by the previous editor.
The common pages to find the button include the Recent changes, history, or the difference page when you compare two edits. Note that if there are edits by multiple people you wish to revert, the rollback feature will not work, as you will have to manually undo these edits.
If you cannot revert all edits you wish to rollback, contact a staff member through their message wall and explain the situation, alongside providing the page name/link.
