Decapitation via the vent (Fan) is a rival-specific elimination method meant for Osana Najimi, the first rival, in Yandere Simulator.

Gameplay[]

This method is a slow, prolonged, and extremely violent way to lethally eliminate Osana.

To successfully carry out the method, Ayano will need to obtain information regarding Osana's dark secret. She can either purchase this from Info-chan or eavesdrop on Osana's phone call and Osana's and Raibaru's conversation. After doing so, the player will have to put a note in Osana's locker to talk about stalkers and blackmail on the school rooftop. Osana will read the note after she is prompted to go to her locker.

Ayano will have to get rid of Raibaru before she and Osana meet. While Osana will still go to the roof with Raibaru accompanying her, the prompt to loosen the fan cover will not be activate or triggered due to the certain outcome of Ayano being immediately apprehended by Raibaru after Osana is killed, which would result in a Game Over. In addition, the player also needs to acquire a Screwdriver from the Workshop to unscrew the fan cover.

After Osana hurries to the Rooftop, Ayano will need to remove the fan cover with the action prompt. As soon as Ayano removes the cover, she will instantly drop any items that she is carrying and the kill animation will automatically begin, with Ayano pulling Osana's hair to the uncovered fan, resulting in the blades of the fan instantly decapitating Osana's head and shredding it apart.

The murder animation lasts 12 seconds. During this animation, Ayano's bloodiness goes up by 20 every 2 seconds. Otherwise, each time a new phase begins, signified by a larger amount of blood splatter, her bloodiness will go up by 20. The "Visibly Bloody" and "Visibly Insane" HUD icons will both activate during the animation, with the "Visibly Bloody" icon popping up just as Phase 1 begins and the Visibly Insane icon activating at 33% sanity, between Phase 2 and 3. As soon as the murder animation takes place, Ayano's sanity will drop by 1% in every phases and always ending at 0%. It's the elimination method alongside with Freezing that results in Ayano's sanity reaching 0% at completion. More specifically, her sanity drops by 10% with every phase, starting at Phase 1, except for the last phase:

Ayano's sanity at Phase 1 is 49%.
Ayano's sanity at Phase 2 is 39%.
Ayano's sanity at Phase 3 is 29%.
Ayano's sanity at Phase 4 is 19%.
Ayano's sanity at Phase 5 is 7%.
The fan will explode when Ayano's sanity reaches 6%, although the animation will continue until her sanity reaches 0%.

The fan will grind to a halt as smoke pours out of it. Once the animation ends, Ayano will turn around again with blood coating her entire body and her sanity completely depleted.

This is the first specific elimination method for Osana Najimi.
This elimination method (alongside Freezing) in which Ayano will lose all of her sanity once it's complete, if not affected by any other numbness variables (Skimpy Thong Panties, Yokai Story Manga, raised psychology stats, or being in the Occult Club).
This is the only rival specific elimination method that is available in Mission Mode.
