An Autumn Recap in October & A Big Thanks

Author's note: Yes, I know this isn't the traditional way to post this. However, I keep getting "Saved content failed" from the discussions area of this Wiki due to numerous issues (according to ChatGPT). So accept it like this way please. :)

Good day, everyone!

As we step into October, it's time for one last look back — the final recap of 2025!

The leaves are turning darker, the air is growing crisp, and autumn is finally settling in. It's the perfect time to wrap yourself in a warm blanket! Sip on something cozy, perhaps a hot cup of cider as a seasonal trick, or a pumpkin spice treat, and enjoy this exactly 4,395-word autumn recap!

In this post, we'll take a look at all the recent changes, improvements, and additions to Yandere Simulator and the Wiki. Whether you're here for the updates or just embracing the fall vibes, there's something for everyone to enjoy!

Progress on Voice Acting and Game Development

Over the past month, YandereDev has been focusing heavily on enhancing the game's voice acting for Amai's week by working closely with new volunteer voice actors. This meticulous process involves providing detailed direction and feedback to ensure performances align with the game's tone and emotional depth. While some lines have been approved, the full implementation remains incomplete.

September 15th Build

YandereDev addressed delays, citing that side work—like rewriting dialogue, polishing animations, or reworking events—is only done when progress on rivals stalls due to external factors such as actors' availability or equipment issues. During this period, the team also revised Amai and Senpai's dialogue to reflect updated storylines and community feedback. Despite efforts, these updates were not yet present in the September 15th build but are intended for future releases.

September 30th Update

In the most recent build, some planned content was cut at the last minute. YandereDev decided to rewrite several dialogue lines he felt weren't up to standard, which now need to be re-recorded by the voice actors. As a result, fewer voice lines and animations were included in the build than originally intended. However, this decision reflects a commitment to quality and narrative consistency.

The good news is that, if the current recording pace continues, all voice lines for Amai's week are expected to be completed by the end of October.

Some lines, like "Amai reacting to being splashed with gasoline," can be added to the game immediately once received. Others, such as "Senpai arriving at Amai's bake sale and eating her food," require accompanying animations and will be implemented later.

What's Next

While waiting for final animations and voice lines, YandereDev plans to continue improving various aspects of the game. Additionally, if time permits, he may uphold his tradition of releasing a Halloween-themed horror minigame, provided higher-priority tasks are completed first.

Build Releases Schedule Updated

The "upload a new build on the 1st and 15th of every month" schedule had its benefits, but also came with some drawbacks. Back in June, YandereDev polled the community to ask whether it would be acceptable to adopt a different approach for determining when to release new builds.

So, what exactly is the new criteria? It's a bit difficult to explain in words, so instead, YandereDev illustrated using a flowchart.

The rules page went through a revamp. New rules regarding hate speech, general behavior, language, leaks, and sharing artwork were added. Other rules were clarified.
The infoboxes now support adding credits to artworks. Additionally, a new rule regarding editing the official artworks has been added.
...This isn't anything new ― in fact, this is technically more than ten years old, ― but we have finally found and properly documented all the available information about Lunar Scythe, the game YandereDev was working on before Yandere Simulator. It has a surprising amount of lore and plans!
Tuxedoshlyukha has resigned from the position of administrator.
- They will no longer perform admin duties, but will still be available on the Wiki, just less active and not available to block. Additionally, they will only keep their staff rights on the Wiki's Discord servers, available to continue moderating. They will continue to edit and chat here.
