Umeko Uchiyama is one of the female students who attended Akademi in 1980s Mode.

Current[]
Umeko has slightly messy light cyan hair tied into pigtails that reach just below her shoulders. Her bangs are separated into three locks, with the middle falling between her eyes. There are two strands framing her face that curl in towards her chin. She has blue eyes and wears light cyan eyeshadow.
She wears the default 1980s uniform with a heart-shaped piano hairpin on the left side of her head and a key-tar case on her back.
When performing the Light Music Club mini-game, Umeko uses a setup black keytar.

Before the June 30th, 2025 build, when performing the Light Music Club minigame, Umeko wore a dull navy blazer with dullened teal outlines, a deep blue bowtie, and a gray-white skirt that reached above her knees. Her outfit was a reference to Yandere Simulator back in 2014.[2] She used a silver tambourine with gold jingles in her sprite.
Before the January 17th, 2022 Build, she had mousy brown hair and pastel blue eyes.
Before the October 21st, 2024 Build, she had bright strawberry blonde hair tied into two large, low pigtails that rested on her shoulders. Her bangs were straight, falling above her eyebrows. She had cobalt blue eyes.
Before the January 1st, 2025 Build, she had a silver cowbell with a drumstick in her mini-game sprite.
Personality[]

Plays keyboard. Her parents operate a successful and prestigious restaurant which has earned them a lot of money. Sometimes, she plays the piano at her parents' restaurant.
Among the Personas that are currently implemented in the game, Umeko is a Snitch. If she sees a corpse or witnesses a murder, she will run to the landline phone in the Faculty Room and call the Police. She cannot participate in physical fights against murderers.
Routine[]

At 7:05 AM, Umeko enters the school grounds with the other members of the Light Music Club. She walks to her locker at 7:10 AM and changes from her outdoor shoes to her indoor shoes. At 7:15 AM, she walks to the east wing corner of the Third Floor and practices her keytar.

At 8:00 AM, she walks to Classroom 1-1 and sits at her desk. She starts her morning classes at 8:30 AM. She leaves to eat her lunch outside the Light Music Club at 1:00 PM.
She walks back to class at 1:30 PM and participates in cleaning time between 3:30 PM and 4:00 PM. During cleaning time, she can be seen cleaning toilets in the Third Floor girls bathroom.
At 4:00 PM, she goes back to the third floor to practice, and at 4:54 PM, she goes to the Light Music Club to rehearse with her club members for an upcoming song until the end of the day.
If the Light Music Club is disbanded, she will still go to the east wing corner of the third floor and practice.
Week 2[]

At 8:15 AM, Umeko will run to Classroom 1-1 and sit at her desk. She starts her morning classes at 8:30 AM. She leaves to eat her lunch outside the Science Club at 1:00 PM.
She runs back to class at 1:28 PM and participates in cleaning time between 3:30 PM and 4:00 PM. At 4:00 PM, she sits and reads by the Workshop until the end of the day.
On Thursday, she will not participate in cleaning time and will instead sit and read until the end of the day.
Week 3[]
Umeko will quickly rush to her locker and change her shoes at 7:00 AM. She then goes to sit and read by Classroom 2-1.
At 8:15 AM, Umeko will run to Classroom 1-1 and sit at her desk. She starts her morning classes at 8:30 AM. She leaves to eat her lunch outside the Sociology Classroom at 1:00 PM.
She runs back to class at 1:28 PM and participates in cleaning time between 3:30 PM and 4:00 PM. At 4:00 PM, she sits and reads by the Science Lab until the end of the day.
On Thursday, she will not participate in cleaning time and will instead sit down and read until the end of the day.
On Friday, she will instead read outside the Biology Lab and will eat her lunch outside Classroom 1-2.
Week 4[]

At 8:15 AM, Umeko will run to Classroom 1-1 and sit at her desk. She starts her morning classes at 8:30 AM. She leaves to eat her lunch on the west side stairs leading up to the Rooftop at 1:00 PM.
She runs back to class at 1:28 PM and participates in cleaning time between 3:30 PM and 4:00 PM. At 4:00 PM, she will go back outside to sit and read by the Girls' Shower Room until the end of the day.
On Thursday, she will not participate in cleaning time and will instead sit and read until the end of the day.
On Friday, she will read outside the Biology Lab and eat her lunch outside Classroom 1-2.
Week 5[]

At 7:00 AM, Umeko enters the school grounds. She walks to her locker at 7:05 AM and changes her shoes. She walks to the girls' shower room to change into her swimsuit and then heads to the pool to sunbathe with Ritsuko Chikanari and the other rich girls at 7:15 AM.
At 8:00 AM, she walks to Classroom 1-1 and sits at her desk. She starts her morning classes at 8:30 AM. She leaves to eat her lunch with Omi Ohara outside the Light Music Club at 1:00 PM.
She walks back to class at 1:30 PM and heads back to the pool at 3:30 PM to sunbathe until the end of the day.
If the Pool Sign is placed, she will instead head to Classroom 1-1 and wait for classes to start.
Week 6[]

She then heads to the Gymnasium along with the other Light Music Club members to perform Ai Doruyashi's song until 8:00 AM, where she heads to Classroom 1-1 and sits at her desk. She starts her morning classes at 8:30 AM. She leaves to eat her lunch outside the Light Music Club at 1:00 PM.
She walks back to class at 1:30 PM and participates in cleaning time between 3:30 PM and 4:00 PM. After cleaning time concludes, she heads back to the Gymnasium and performs Ai's song until the end of the day.
Week 7[]
Umeko will quickly rush to her locker and change her shoes at 7:00 AM. She then heads up the west side stairs leading up to the second floor to sit and read.
At 8:15 AM, Umeko will run to Classroom 1-1 and sit at her desk. She starts her morning classes at 8:30 AM. She leaves to eat her lunch outside the Science Lab at 1:00 PM.
She runs back to class at 1:28 PM and participates in cleaning time between 3:30 PM and 4:00 PM. At 4:00 PM, she will sit and read on the west side stairs leading up to the second floor until the end of the day.

Trivia[]
- If Ryoba kidnaps Umeko and sells her to The Yakuza, she will receive $1,600.
- Her name, Umeko (梅子), means "plum tree child".
- Her surname, Uchiyama (内山), is a common Japanese surname which means "the inside of the mountain".
- Umeko's previous appearance was based on a pre-existing model.
- It closely resembles a fan-made redesign for Sakura Hagiwara.
- The original design was shown with pink hair and green eyes, as seen from this image.
- Her original hairstyle can still be accessed via JSON, Pose Mode or Custom Mode.
- After graduating, she played in Omi's band for a while and then became a concert pianist and pianist for hire, performing at various clubs and restaurants.[3]
- Umeko didn't join the Cooking Club for insecurity reasons, as her lack of self-confidence made her think she would suck at cooking and embarrass herself in the process.[4]
