Tsuru Kariya is the physical education teacher at Akademi in 1980s Mode.
Appearance[]
Current[]
Tsuru has medium-length black hair with a loose bang, blue eyes, and tanned skin. She wears brown sunglasses on top of her head.
She wears a white, fitted short-sleeved t-shirt with chambray blue track pants that are cuffed a couple of inches above her ankles. She wears a dusk blue zip-up hoodie with pastel blue stripes and hoodie strings that are tied around her waist. There are two lanyards that hang around her neck and chest. The shorter one has a silver whistle and a silver stopwatch. The longer lanyard has 3 keys of varying sizes and colors, and her faculty ID dangling in front of her stomach. She pairs her outfit with cotton lace shoes and white ankle-length sport socks. She uses the "Bold" idle animations.

Before the February 1st, 2025 build, she wore a red tracksuit with silver stripes and used the "Tsundere" idle animations, similarly to Kyoshi Tachikawa.
Personality[]

A determined woman who wants to see her students succeed. Always pushes her students to do their very best. At the headmaster's request, has received martial arts training.
Tsuru was part of the school's faculty. She is Friendly but Strict and has extensive martial arts training. If she witnesses a corpse, she will call the police. If she witnesses a murder, she will attempt to apprehend Ryoba.
Routine[]
Before class time, Tsuru stands guard near the school gate. At 8:15 AM, she goes to the Faculty Room and paces around the room in a rectangular fashion, stopping at the windows and doors to stretch. At lunchtime, she completes work at her desk with the other teachers, and then continues to stretch after 1:23 PM when the others go back to class. During and after cleaning time, she goes back to standing at the front gate.

- Her name, Tsuru (鶴), means "crane (bird)".
- Her surname, Kariya, means "cutting, pruning (grass)" (kari, 苅) and "valley" (ya, 谷).
- In the February 1st, 2025 build, her appearance got updated, but her portrait did not.
- As of the second February 1st, 2025 build, her portrait now shows her current appearance.
- According to Tsuru's keycard texture, she was born on July 15th, her blood type is O-negative (O-), and her keycard expired on October 10, 1989.
