Togo Atatsuma (a.k.a Dandy Pompadour) is one of the male students who attended Akademi in 1980s Mode.
Before he was reintroduced in 1980s Mode, he was a delinquent and one of the students who attended Akademi in 202X Mode.
Appearance[]
Togo wearing his chain with the male delinquents.
Togo has black hair done into a pompadour hairstyle with spiky strands at the end. He has brown eyes.
He wears the default 1980s uniform, except that his blazer is unbuttoned, revealing a black shirt, and he carries a weapon bag containing a pipe. He also wears a gaudy gold chainlink around his neck with the main embellishment of the chain being a yen symbol.
In "Osana Progress and Yakuza Thoughts", a young Toga is seen in two illustrations. One illustration has him with a similar hairdo as his teenage self, in a gray shirt and covered in a few small band-aids. In another one, he wears a small fluffy hat with a long-sleeved jacket and ankle-length puffy pants. He wears black sandals and is covered in one band-aid on his cheek, and a couple of scratches, primarily around his feet and ankles. He holds two large radishes with one hand, and the other hand with his brother.
Personality[]
Idolizes his older brother, a successful career criminal. Became a delinquent as part of an attempt to emulate his brother's lifestyle. Provoked a local gang, giving them reason to antagonize him daily.
Among the Personas that are currently implemented in the game, Togo is Violent. If Ryoba Aishi gets too close to him, he will push her away. If she initiates a fight with him, he will fight until either one of them is injured. If he loses, he will drop his weapon.
If he sees Ryoba carrying a corpse or murdering someone, he will run up to her and begin a combat mini-game, and if Ryoba wins, he will run out of the school and call the police.
If he sees Ryoba bloody or insane, he will only mock her and not lower her reputation.
Routine[]
Current[]
At 7:20 AM, Togo enters the school grounds. He walks to his locker at 7:30 AM and changes from his outdoor shoes to his indoor shoes. At 7:40 AM, he walks to the Incinerator and talks with Shichiro Kurosapu, Taichi Hiranaka, Saburo Meshino, and Seishiro Sadanaga.
At 8:30 AM, Togo walks into Classroom 2-2 and sits at his desk. He starts his morning classes at 8:40 AM and leaves to go to the incinerator at 1:00 PM.
Togo walks back to class again at 1:40 PM and goes to the incinerator between 3:30 PM and 4:00 PM.
Previous[]
Togo spawned by the left side of the disposal area at 7:15 AM. He disappeared at 8:30 AM and returned at 1:15 PM. He disappeared again at 1:30 PM, this time for the rest of the day.

Togo Atatsuma is being antagonized by a local gang. Talk to him outside of the school gates after 3:30 PM to defeat his enemies in a brawl. |
| To complete Togo's task, the player can visit Togo outside of the school entrance after classes near the "Go Home" option. Togo will arrive at approximately 3:36 PM, and the player can talk to him to begin fighting the gang. The player would need to fully defeat five of the gang members in a small street, using E to evade their attacks, F or R to deliver a punch/kick, and Q to do a streak punch after building up the yellow bar on the bottom right. Once defeated, Togo won't do any favors for the player, but he will offer his thanks by providing the location of the Yakuza, allowing the player to use him for his illicit services. | |

Relationships[]
The Yakuza[]
- Main article: The Yakuza
Togo's brother is involved in the Yakuza, as hinted at in his Student Profile. He idolizes him and wants to be like him; however, the Yakuza strongly discourages him from also being involved.
Togo (pictured to the right) and his older brother as young kids.
Togo and his brother struggled as children due to a deceased parent and a disabled parent. His older brother assumed responsibility and took care of Togo and his parent. When conventional jobs didn't pay the Yakuza enough, he resorted to a life of crime to gain extra money to care for his family. This would eventually lead the older brother to join the Yakuza.[2] Togo's idolization of his brother is so visible that he even wears a gold necklace around his neck in hopes of being like his brother, who is a rich, bountiful criminal.[3]
The Yakuza deeply cares for his younger brother, as the last thing that he wants is for Togo to struggle in life and become a criminal like he did.[2]
When Togo asks his brother what he does, the Yakuza simply tells his brother that he steals from the rich, greedy, corrupt CEOS, anything that is vague but ethical.[2]
If Togo goes missing or is murdered, the Yakuza will no longer be in the alleyway of Buruza Town.
In Mission Mode, Ryoba is able to kill Togo without any consequences. This is because Togo and his older brother have fallen out with one another and now don't consider each other family anymore.[4]
Ryoba Aishi[]
- Main article: Ryoba Aishi
Togo is grateful that she saved his life by beating up the rival gang.[5]
Trivia[]
- He was implemented in the March 2nd, 2016 Build, removed in the April 27th, 2018 Build, and was re-implemented in the October 10th, 2021 Build (a.k.a 1980s Mode).
- He kept his identity hidden so that it was harder to link him to his crimes.[6]
- The tō part of his name can be written as "eastern" (東), "winter" (冬), or "wisteria" (藤).
- If his name is written as Tōgo, the go part is written as "I, my, one's own" (吾).
- If his name is written as Tōgō, the gō part is written as "hometown, village" (郷).
- His surname, Atatsuma, may be a typo of Agatsuma, a real-life Japanese surname. Agatsuma is written as "above, wife" (上妻) or "my wife" (吾妻)
- YandereDev does not currently plan for the player to have the ability to reform Togo.[7]
- He is the only 1980s Mode student who has a specific task other than rivals.
- After the events of 1980s Mode, Togo went on to become a martial arts instructor instead of a career criminal.[8]
- He might be a strict instructor, but that wouldn't mean that he'd be mean or have a rude personality.[9]
- Canonically, Ryoba Aishi took his task on the first week of 1980s Mode.[10]
