- It is now possible to perform certain actions by tapping the relevant button instead of holding it until a circle fills up. Currently, the only two actions that this applies to are throwing stink bombs and opening/closing doors. This will be tested on other interactive objects, as well, to see if it’s feasible to upgrade other objects in this way without interfering with the functionality of the object.
- Upon picking up a key that was dropped by a dead student, their key ring will now disappear and a message will appear at the top of the screen confirming that the player has obtained a key. This change was made to prevent players from becoming confused and unsure whether or not they picked up the key or not.
- Typing “d e b u g” during school gameplay will now make it possible for the player to use the skull in the occult room to travel to the demon realm (as long as they have stained the ritual knife with blood, of course).
- Updated the hair texture for the “Huntress” easter egg. (It is the most outdated easter egg and should probably be removed or re-designed, but it’s too low priority to justify spending much time on it right now.)
- Changed Ryoba’s line of dialogue for apologizing to students for carrying a weapon while splattered with blood. (The previous line of dialogue was identical to the line Ayano says, which references the Internet.)
- Once you have put a weapon inside of a bag and are wearing the bag on your back, you can now pull out the weapon and equip it with one button press, instead of having to drop the bag just to pull out the weapon.
- School atmosphere penalties have been adjusted. If a student disappears, School Atmosphere will drop by 10%. If a student’s corpse is discovered at school, School Atmosphere will drop by a further 10%.
- Teachers will no longer react to the sight of Yandere-chan throwing a stink bomb when they are guarding a corpse (they are not concerned about petty misbehavior when deaths are occurring at school.)
- Any student guarding a corpse will no longer react to stink bombs (they can put up with a smell for a few moments if they are busy with the important duty of guarding a dead body).
- Adjusted the year that the game takes place; Ayano’s story is now set in 2023. The timeline at the end of the 1980s Mode bonus cutscene has been adjusted accordingly.
- The “HairTemplate.png” texture in the Streaming Assets folder has been replaced with the new hair texture for Yandere-chan.
- A corpse wrapped in garbage bags will now have an orange outline around it when viewed in Yandere Vision.
- It is no longer possible to enter SNAP Mode while an easter egg is active, because this would cause bugs.
- Adjusted the hair models and textures of the 202X Photography Club (except for the club leader Fureddo).
Subtly adjusted / improved the hair models for some of the male and female students in 1980s Mode.
- Updated the portraits for some of the 202X characters (Raibaru, Osana, faculty members).
- The act of carrying a candle throughout school is now considered suspicious behavior.
- Any suitor who sees you attack a rival will now attempt to apprehend you.

- From now on, if the player obtains lethal poison, a sedative, or a lockpick while at school and brings it home, they will be able to bring that item from home to school in the future.
- Put a “CLUBMEMBER USE ONLY” sign above the vat of acid in the Science Club so that players would understand that the protagonist can only use the vat if they have joined the club.
- Changed “Raibaru walks beside Osana” code back to “Raibaru walks behind Osana like a pet dog” code. The “walk beside” code resulted in too many bugs and janky-looking situations.
- All characters in 1980s Mode now have profiles and appropriate likes/dislikes that match their profiles / identities!
- The Characters page of the official website has been updated with pictures of Saisho Saikou when he was younger!
- It is now possible to pickpocket a shed key from the Gardening Club leader in 1980s Mode.
- Updated Ryoba’s walk animation to match the arm position of her idle animation.
- Updated the hair models and textures for a handful of characters.
- It is now possible to pick up pebbles inside of the Asylum stealth mission and toss them to make a small noise that temporarily distracts anyone close enough to hear it.
- It is now possible to find a bottle of lethal poison and a bottle of sedative in the Asylum, and bring the items home with you once you’ve finished the mission.
- It is now possible to use “Yandere Vision” during the Asylum stealth mission to see the location of enemies and the items that you’re looking for.
- It is now possible to hide inside of lockers during the Asylum stealth mission. Enemies cannot detect you while you’re inside of a locker.

- If the player attempts to attend class while the washing machine is currently washing some bloody clothing, the game will report that there is currently bloody clothing present at school. This is intentional, but has been mistaken for a bug. From now on, the text “The washing machine is still running” will display when the player attempts to attend class under these circumstances, so that the player understands why the game is reporting the presence of bloody clothing.
- From now on, whenever the player highlights the “Report Narcotics” option in the Counselor menu, a little warning will appear to let the player know that reporting a girl for possession of illegal narcotics will cause her to be arrested, NOT expelled.
- From now on, if a rival’s suitor goes looking for the rival, but they are inside of the school incinerator, the suitor will look around in a confused fashion, then leave and not search for the rival any more.
- From now on, any female student with a smile as their default facial expression will no longer smile if Ryoba tries to speak to them, if the student has witnessed Ryoba commit murder in the past.
- All students in 1980s Mode now have unique reputation values (previously, they were all using the same reputation values as the 202X students).
- Updated the “Characters” page of the official website with new artwork for how Ryoba looks in modern day, and also artwork for Ronshaku Loans.
- The message “Debug Commands Enabled!” will now appear when activating debug commands, so that players can be certain that they are activated.
- The Art Club in 1980s Mode now create unique cherry tree paintings on Friday, instead of creating the same paintings as the 202X Art Club.
- There was a part of the asylum that did not have proper ground detection, allowing Ryoba to walk on air. This area is now inaccessible.
- The “police investigation sequence” now features unique background music in 1980s Mode, composed by CameronF305.
- Updated various miscellaneous hair models for female students in 1980s Mode.
- Changed the hairstyle for the 1980s Mode Martial Arts Club President.
- It is now possible to find a box of cigarettes inside of the asylum.
- Updated the hair model for one of the 202X swimming club boys.
- Ryoba now uses the correct face when she is in the town.

- The “remove weapon from container with one button press” feature wasn’t fully thought-out, so it has been re-worked. Now, to remove a weapon from a container attached to your back, you must activate Yandere Vision and then press the “R” key (or Y button on controller). This button also allows you to instantly put the weapon back into the container without having to drop the container first.
- The moon will be full during the middle of the first week of April in 2023, so the phase of the moon in the night sky now reflects this during the stalker house stealth mission.
- The “Censor Killing Animations” and “Replace Blood With Flowers” features now function properly with the “killing Osana with rooftop fan” animation.
- Improved the “fire inside of drum barrel” effect so that it doesn’t look like the fire is clipping through the sides of the barrel.
- Updated the run animation that Ayano uses inside of her room to be the same one that she uses while at school.
- Added one more illustration of Saisho Saikou to the Characters page of the official website.
- Updated the text for Ichiko Saikou on the Characters page of the official website.

- Completely replaced Ryoba’s idle/walk/run animations with new ones.
- Increased the run speed of Ayano/Ryoba when inside of their rooms.
- On the title screen, adjusted “year 2022” text to “year 2023”.
- The teachers of 202X now have text in their profiles.
- A bunch of miscellaneous little improvements in various places through out the game, like adjusting the appearance of the hearts at the end of the “Thanks For Playing The Demo!” sequence.

- If the player used the “Week Select” menu to befriend every student in school, they would never be able to perform Togo’s task, and therefore never be able to unlock access to the Yakuza. This problem has been solved; using the “Week Select” menu to befriend students will now automatically unlock access to the Yakuza.
- If the player obtains rat poison, alcohol, or cigarettes while at school, and brings those items home, those items will now appear as options in the “Bring Item To School From Home” menu.
|
2/4/2022
|
- Corrected student profiles that only had 4 likes/dislikes instead of 5 likes/dislikes.
- The Journalist will no longer attempt to apprehend Ryoba if an easter egg is active.
|
2/11/2022
|
- I realized that “only one tarp bag spawns when you dismember a corpse on top of a sheet of tarp” was not a bug, it was how the feature was supposed to work. So, the feature has been reverted back to how it originally was.
- Since 1980s Mode takes place after Ryoba had already been stalking her Senpai for 1 year, the Senpai Shrine in her room is now filled with items from the start of the game.
|
2/14/2022
|
- Added the optional “80s blue tint” effect to certain scenes that didn’t previous possess the effect.
|

|
- If Osana has an event scheduled to take place immediately after she changes her shoes at her locker, she will fail to notice a note inside of her locker, because she is too distracted/preoccupied by her upcoming event. This is a deliberate game design decision, not a bug. However, many people misidentified it as a bug and reported it. So, from now on a message will be displayed onscreen if Osana overlooks a note in her locker, to inform players of why she didn’t find the note.
- If you are playing with a keyboard, it is now possible to use the WASD keys to move the little target icon during the guidance counselor segment, if you would prefer to do that instead of using your mouse cursor to click your reply to the guidance counselor.
- From now on, the 1980s Mode student council member responsible for patrolling in clubrooms will patrol through the Newspaper Club, as well. (Previously, he didn’t.)
- From now on, the game will remember the state of the bookshelves in the library (whether or not they have been knocked over) when saving and loading.
- When removing an item from a bookbag, the item now instantly appears in the protagonist’s hands, instead of unceremoniously plopping onto the ground.
- It is no longer possible to conceal a trash can inside of a bookbag.
|

|
- It is now possible to shower while wearing a bathing suit, and wash blood off of the bathing suit that way.
- Because it is now possible to wash blood off of your body and a swimsuit simultaneously, the swimsuit just became an advantageous outfit. To balance this new feature and prevent it from being overpowered, characters will now react negatively to you if they see you walking around in a swimsuit unless you’re behind the school (where the pool is located). (Walking around inside of a school while wearing a swimsuit never should have been seen as normal behavior, anyway.)
- From now on, when playing the Light Music Club’s rhythm minigame in 1980s Mode, the graphics will be different than the graphics of 202X Mode. (The characters are currently using silhouettes instead of colored artwork, though, since the designs of the 1980s Mode music club have not yet been finalized.)
- Changed the hairstyle of 1980s Mode Student #75. She is one of the girls that you can kidnap for the Yakuza. I changed her hairstyle to resemble the hairstyle from the “Yakuza holding girl hostage” artwork that appeared in the video where the Yakuza was first announced.
- I reconsidered how the tarp feature should work. Dismembering a student lying on top of a tarp sheet WILL result in 6 tarp bags, but each tarp bag will be recognized by students as a trash bag that should be picked up and dumped in the incinerator at cleaning time.
- There is a new prop somewhere at school. What is the purpose of this prop? It’ll become apparent in the next update…
- Curtains can now be opened with a button tap rather than a button hold.
- Crouching in front of your Senpai is no longer an automatic game over.
- It is no longer possible to fit an entire jerry can into a bookbag.
- You can now use the “M” key to mute the music in the street scene.
- Changed the hairstyle of 1980s Mode Student #53.

|
- Added the water cooler trap
- Added the car battery
- From now on, any locker that contains a dead body will have an orange outline around it in Yandere Vision, instead of a cyan outline.
|

|
- Added the ability to remove a tripwire trap from a water cooler, so that if you accidentally place it in the wrong place, you can correct your mistake without waiting for someone to trigger the trap first.
- Water coolers are now incapable of being tipped over onto their sides, eliminating the possibility of the player setting up a tripwire trap that floats in midair.
- Slightly expanded the size of the “student triggered the tripwire” hitbox to reduce the possibility of a character walking into a tripwire without triggering it.
- The game will now remember the existence/location of puddles of liquid (water, blood, gas, and brown paint) when saving/loading the game.
- When holding a bucket that contains liquid, it is now possible to spill the contents of the bucket on the ground in front of you.
- The act of creating a tripwire trap is now considered suspicious; if anyone sees you do it, they’ll react negatively.
- The game will now remember the location/status of the water cooler when saving/loading the game.
- The act of carrying a water cooler around school is now considered suspicious behavior.

- If a student witnesses a character being electrocuted in a puddle of water, and the player was witnessed throwing a car battery immediately before the electrocution, the student will be aware that the player just deliberately killed someone, and will react according to their Persona (apprehend the player, take a photo of the player, etc).
- Originally, debug commands and easter eggs were unlocked by typing the word “debug” in the Extras menu. This functionality was changed a while ago. Debug commands and easter eggs are nwo unlocked by typing the word “debug” while at school. The “Congratulations, you completed the demo!” text has been updated to reflect this.
- From now on, any rival who is not present at school will have a silhouette portrait instead of a fully colored and detailed portrait. This is to reflect the fact that the protagonist isn’t meant to know who her next rivals are until they actually appear at school.
- A lot of players didn’t understand that Ayano’s mode ends after Week 1 and that completing the “Amai Challenge” does not advance the game, so I have added a screen that explains this which will appear anytime the player ends a day on Week 2 of Ayano’s mode.
- It is no longer possible to gossip about faculty members. As a mechanic, it wouldn’t make sense. There is no reason to gossip about them, and they wouldn’t be as emotionally/psychologically susceptible to gossip as a student would be.
- Senpai will now speak a different line of dialogue when witnessing bizarre behavior from Yandere-chan (like creating a trap with a water cooler) because his previous line of dialogue didn’t suit most situations.
- Student Council members and teachers now dismantle the water cooler tripwire trap if they encounter one, since part of their their job is to keep an eye out for misbehavior and pranks.
- The protagonist now automatically changes her shoes when entering/exiting the school building. This feature was inspired by a mechanic in Pokemon Legends Arceus.
- The “chibi Yandere-chan running” animation at the bottom-right corner of the loading screen now depicts Ryoba instead of Ayano if the player is in 1980s Mode.
- The “Create Tripwire Trap” prompt will now appear red, to communicate to the player that it is a suspicious action that will alarm anyone who witnesses it.
- The color of every female character’s panties is now randomly chosen at the start of the school day.
- It is no longer possible to conceal a mop, a bucket, or a water cooler inside of a bookbag.
- The photographs in the Photography Club are now different in 1989 than in 202X.
- The pipe wrench has been moved from the storage room to the pool’s pump room.
- Updated Info-chan’s hair model and the outfit she wears in the Amai cutscene.
- The headmaster’s lips move when he talks now, in both 202X and 1989.
- It is now suspicious to walk around school carrying a car battery.
- Loading into the school scene is now 10 seconds faster!
- Added stockings to Sakyu and Inkyu.
- Updated Sakura’s hair model.

- The headmaster now has 17 voiced lines in the 80s. 5 for when you enter his office and stand far away, 5 for when you enter his office and stand really close to him, 5 for when you walk around inside his office with a cardboard box over your body, 1 for when he is delivering a eulogy at a dead student’s memorial, and 1 for when he is shooting you with a tazer.
- If the Light Music Club closes down, the 5 musicians of 1980s Mode lose access to their instruments. This resulted in a bug where the musicians stood on stage during Ai’s week without instruments. This bug has now been fixed; they won’t perform on stage if their club has been shut down.
- Added a portable bunsen burner to the game. This is to allow the player to set students on fire even if the Occult Club has been shut down and the player has lost access to the candle. The portable bunsen burner is found in the Chemistry classroom.
- The “Use Photo of Senpai to Restore Sanity” feature now deletes the photo from Ayano’s phone, to explain why it cannot be “Used” again and why she loses access to the “Gaze at photo of Senpai to speed up time” feature.
- From now on, if the player runs into a student soaked in gasoline while holding an open flame (such as a candle or portable bunsen burner) other characters will recognize this as a deliberate murder attempt.
- The boys who follow Chigusa around school in 1980s Mode will now stand further away from her when she is meeting with someone, such as when she’s talking with Ryoba on the school rooftop.
- Type the letters “M E D I B A N G” while at school to change Yandere-chan’s outfit to the outfit designed by the winner of the Medibang Art contest!
- The training dummy in the martial arts club was not broken until 202X, so it will no longer be depicted in a broken state in 1980s Mode.
- The protagonist’s footstep sound effects are now “bare feet” sound effects when the protagonist is wearing the martial arts club attire.
- Removed the “Change Shoes” button, since it became non-functional after shoe-changing began to happen automatically.
- The act of picking up a collectible in the asylum no longer makes a loud clunking noise.
- All teachers now have different bust sizes instead of each having identical bodies.
- Improved the appearance of the planters on the school rooftop.
- Updated the textures for Mai Waifu, Midori, Pippie, and Ryuto.
- Updated the clothing that Ryoba wears in the street scene.
- Updated the character models used by the 202X teachers.
- Updated Himedere’s hair model.
- Updated Kiba’s hair model.

- Someone pointed out that when a character is kidnapped and tied to a chair in the protagonist’s basement, the clothing that they wear in the basement does not match the same clothing that they were wearing when they were kidnapped. It would be possible to program the game to remember what clothing a character was wearing at the time they were kidnapped and make them appear in that outfit in the basement, but this feature would require constant “maintenance” every time a new outfit is added, so it would be more trouble than it’s worth. Instead, all kidnapped victims in Ayano’s basement will be dressed in rags, instead. They will also wear rags when appearing as mind-broken slaves at school, as well.
- The “steal ring from Himedere” mechanic was too awkward and confusing for many players, so the “girl takes off ring at lunchtime” event has been removed from the game. Now, the method for stealing a ring from Himedere is to splash water on her and steal her ring when she leaves it unattended in the locker room.
- From now on, if a student’s Persona changes (such as when a rival survives their week and their Persona changes from “Lovestruck” to “Snitch” or something like that) the text in their Student Info page will update to reflect this.
- From now on, when the player discovers a student’s “Crush” (such as when they speak to the rival’s suitor and confirm that the suitor has a crush on the rival), the text in their Student Info page will update to reflect this.
- Previously, it was impossible to complete a Mission Mode mission that involved killing Raibaru with fire, because Raibaru dodged all liquid. From now on, it will be possible to splash Raibaru with liquid in Mission Mode.
- Previously, it was impossible to complete a Mission Mode mission that involved getting Horuda to respond to a note in her locker. From now on, Horuda will respond to any note that involves bullying in Mission Mode.
- From now on, if a student’s “Crush” changes (such as when a rival survives their week and they no longer have a crush on Senpai) the text in their Student Info page will update to reflect this.
- Added several decorations to the front of the school exterior to make it look more fancy. If the fans approve, these kinds of decorations will be added to the rest of the school too.
- From now on, after a student has entered into a relationship, the “Student Info” screen will update to reflect the fact that they are now in a relationship with someone.
- When playing the maid cafe minigame in 1980s Mode, the protagonist’s sprite will now look like Ryoba instead of Ayano.
- Ayano’s smartphone background is now darker in Lovesick Mode and Mission Mode to suit the dark themes of those modes.
- Updated Efude’s hair model, which was supposed to have a little paintbrush sticking out of her hair.
- Updated the 5 female delinquent hair models for the first time since 2016.
- Updated the hair models of the 1980s Mode Drama Club.
- Updated the student council girls’ hair models.
- Updated Sakyu and Inkyu’s hair models.
- Updated Itachi’s hair model.
- Updated Uekiya’s hair model.

- Previously, if the player matchmade two characters, they wouldn’t act like it; their routine at school would be identical to what it was like when they were not matchmade. From now on, the game will remember which characters the player has matchmade, and adjust their schedules accordingly. Couples will now spend their time at school cuddling together when they don’t have to be in class, and they will leave school early to spend more time with one another. (As of now, all couples hang out in a row in the same part of school…this looks really awkward, so I’ll probably move them elsewhere in the future.)
- I have adjusted the Journalist’s AI so that it should be impossible to murder a victim in the long walkway area leading up to the school gate without being caught by him. If you’re up for a challenge, try to prove me wrong – without the use of easter eggs or debug commands, of course! (The Journalist is supposed to prevent the player from committing any murders in the long walkway area outside of the school, so if you can successfully kill somebody there and get away with it, there are definitely some exploits that I need to be made aware of.)
- Some players requested the ability to dump Moeko’s body into the burning barrel after killing her with fire, so I’ve added this option to the game. It doesn’t count as a proper corpse disposal method; it’s a “just for fun” feature that was added entirely for the amusement of the people who asked for it.
The “Week Select” screen now has a 3D interface for selecting the week you want to start on. I was inspired by the creative and era-appropriate Chapter Select screen from “Sucker For Love”!
- Removed exploit that would make the player appear nearly invisible to characters in the Stalker House Mission or Asylum Stealth Mission while the player was running + crouching.
- The “Ryoba stabbing dead rival” artwork that displays during the loading screens at low atmosphere now depicts Ryoba stabbing Sumire instead of Raibaru.
- The Journalist and the Headmaster now have yellow outlines in Yandere Vision, since yellow is the color for “someone who is suspicious of you.”
- Until now, characters ignored the sound of loud radios if they were studying in class or teaching a class. This is no longer the case.
- Updated the hair model for one of the 1980s Mode Student Council boys, since his previous hairstyle didn’t suit his personality.
- Reverted Student Council hair models back to how they previously were, since people liked the old ones better.
- A bucket of blood will now count as a “mysterious blood stain” during the police investigation sequence.
- It is now possible to disable the “Rival Slow-Motion Death Animation” feature from the Settings menu.
- The Journalist will now react to the sight of a mind-broken slave committing murder in front of him.
- Restored outlines to the 202X character portraits, since I feel like they look nicer with outlines.
- Characters will no longer notice dropped objects while changing their shoes, since it caused bugs.
- The Journalist’s position in the school will now be remembered properly when loading a save file.
- The Journalist will now run out of school and call the cops if he sees a corpse in front of him.
- Updated the appearance of the “Study Points” screen. (It’s basically been the same since 2014!)
- Updated the classroom props for the first time in several years.
- Updated Info-chan’s portrait to reflect her new hair model.
- Added custom textures to the bully girls’ smartphones.
- Added the ability to return a girl’s stolen ring to the spot that it was stolen from in the locker room.
|
5/24/2022
|
- If the player giggles while inside of a locker room / bathroom area, nobody will investigate, because they don’t want to be a creep who is peeking on someone in the locker room / bathroom. This is now conveyed in the text that appears when a notification pops up at the top of the screen to alert the player that a giggle has been ignored.
- When torturing a prisoner in your basement, the “you will reduce your prisoner’s sanity by __%” text in the description box will now update to reflect any bonus damage that you’re doing to your prisoner’s sanity as a result of upgrading the Psychology stat.
- Previously, any student with the “Snitch” persona would not respond positively to any kind of locker note. As of this update, they will now respond positively to any note about Bullying, Fighting Evil, or Suspicious Activity.
- From now on, dropping a weapon (or other pickup) nearby its original position will result in the object re-appearing in the spot where it originally came from, instead of being unceremoniously plopped onto the ground at your feet.
- Because Ayano’s phone background becomes darker in Mission Mode, some of the phone menu text has been made lighter so that it’s easier to read on a dark background.
- You can now rapidly scroll up/down the Task List or Tutorial List by holding up/down instead of rapidly tapping up/down to get where you wanted to be in the list.
- Students now have a subtitle for reacting to the sight of the player trespassing, instead of just saying “Hm…” when they witness trespassing.
- Students no longer react negatively to being splashed with water while they are wearing a swimsuit.
- The player can now apologize for trespassing (previously, the option simply did not exist.)
- Updated the “POOL’S CLOSED” artwork with new illustrations that were drawn by OMGAyano! (https://www.instagram.com/omgayano/?hl=en)
- Updated the “Frame” Idea to mention that you can get a girl’s fingerprints on a weapon by dropping an innocuous weapon like a screwdriver on the ground in her field of vision.
- Updated the “Befriend” and “Betray” Ideas to more accurately reflect the steps for Befriending/Betraying in 1980s Mode.
- Updated the “Poison” Idea to reflect the fact that there are multiple ways to put poison in a student’s food.
- Updated the “Kidnap” Idea to remove any reference to the “Headache Poison”, since it is unavailable in 1989.
- Updated the “Burn” Idea to mention the option of a Bunsen burner instead of a candle from the Occult Club.
- Updated the “Expel” Idea to include the new method for stealing a ring from Himeko Dereguchi.
- Updated the “Electrocution” Idea to reflect the updated location of the pipe wrench.

- The player is no longer able to send a stink bomb to the guidance counselor’s office or Info-chan’s room. (The guidance counselor is too professional to abandon her duties because of a bad smell, and Info-chan has hacked the ventilation system and made it impossible to send any gases into her room. She did this for a specific reason, but it will be one of the last things you ever learn about the game’s lore.)
- The player is no longer allowed to take off a swimsuit that was splattered with blood until they have showered and removed the blood on it, because the act of doing so could result in the player entering a state where they are “soft-locked” and trapped within the locker room, unable to exit because there is no clean clothing they can put on.
- Using the ventilation system to send a bad smell into the Headmaster’s office will cause him to leave school and not come back until after lunchtime has ended. (If you send a bad smell into his office after lunchtime, he’ll go home for the rest of the day.)
- From now on, when students are walking around the school and collecting trash bags to throw away, males will not enter female bathrooms to search for trash bags, and females will not enter male bathrooms to search for trash bags.
- The ventilation system is now accessed by using the B button instead of the A button, since using the A button could cause the player to accidentally throw a stink bomb instead of accessing the ventilation system.
- The player is now allowed to kill students while wearing a swimsuit even if there are no clean outfits at school to change into, since blood can always be cleaned off of a swimsuit without disposing of it.
- Updated the hair model of the foreign boy in the 1980s Mode student council to look less basic/generic and more like the “dreamy foreign boy” character he is supposed to represent.
- Tweaked the 1989 “Pool’s Closed” artwork to more accurately reflect the student council president’s hairstyle.
- Several male hair models have been replaced. If you don’t like them, you are welcome to model your own versions and show me screenshots. If I like your models better than the ones in the game, I’ll consider replacing the current models with your models.

- Added chemistry crafting system to the chemistry lab. New chemicals unlock with each chemistry stat rank increase. Rank 1: Emetic Poison Rank 2: Headache Poison Rank 3: Sedative Poison Rank 4: Lethal Poison Rank 5: Smoke Bomb
- There is now a new item for sale in Info-chan’s Drops Menu – a smoke bomb. It renders you invisible for 5 seconds, allowing you to get away with anything – theft, murder, etc – as long as you’re inside of the smoud cloud.
- The Yakuza will no longer purchase any kidnapped girl from you. He will now ONLY purchase the 10 girls that are listed on his Kidnapping page. The other girls’ families are not rich enough to bother with.
- You can now sell multiple girls to the Yakuza simultaneously.
- Added permanent item destruction. The following items will be destroyed permanently if the player uses and destroys them: the katana in the Headmaster’s room, the ritual dagger in the Occult Clubroom, the prop weapons in the Drama Clubroom, the sharp electric guitar in the Light Music Club, and the traditional Japanese axe behind the shed in the Gardening Club, and the lethal poison in the chemistry lab.
- Added weeklong item destruction. Most club property (such as the box cutter in the art room and rat poison in the garden) will not respawn until Monday morning of the next week if the player uses and destroys it.
- It is now possible to bathe in an emergency shower while wearing a swimsuit, without the need for a school uniform. (More specifically, the player no longer has the ability to use an emergency shower to change into a school uniform if they are wearing a swimsuit when they use the shower.)
- The button to push a student off the school rooftop is no longer the same button as the button to talk to them. This should prevent the player from accidentally pushing a student to their death when they are merely trying to talk to that student.
- Updated the behavior of the Journalist to make it more difficult for the player to kill their rival before she has passed through the school gate. (It should be impossible now. But if you can still pull it off, e-mail me a video of it.)
- Two of Yandere-chan’s hair models were duplicates of each other, so they have been replaced with new hairstyles, and the “YandereHair” folder in the StreamingAssets folder has been updated with screenshots of all 208 of her hairstyles.
- Re-wrote the text for the “Expel from school” elimination method described in the 1980s Mode “Ideas” menu, since it had a reference to a feature that was never actually added to the game.
- Students now say a more appropriate line when reacting to the player holding a bloody weapon (instead of reacting to the weapon itself, they react to the fact that there is blood on it.)
- Moeko (the 2nd rival of 1980s Mode) will now leave the area if she sees you near the barrel where she lights a fire, because she doesn’t want anyone to witness her secret hobby.
- Added a “Distractions” tutorial to the tutorial menu. Hopefully, it will help new players. (With that said, a playable tutorial would probably be much more helpful…)
- The delinquents will no longer make snide remarks towards you when you’re in their vicinity if you have befriended at least one of them.
- It is now possible to wash a bloody weapon at a water basin (the large sinks found in bathrooms) in addition to drinking fountains.
- Updated the icon for “Chat Interaction” in the Pause Screen menu (for both 202X Mode and 1980s Mode).
- Updated the appearance of the 1989 headmaster in the Memorial scene and End-of-Day sequence.
- Updated the texture for the floor and walls of the Newspaper Club. It looks much better now!
- There is now an option in the Settings menu to turn off Subtitles completely.
- Updated a few of the male students’ hair textures.

- A murder victim can no longer be a witness to their own death. (Attacking someone from the front will no longer cause the “murder witnessed” effect, or cause the number of murder witnesses to increase by one. This may come in handy for Mission Mode.)
- Adjusted Journalist behavior so that it’s not so easy to trick him into leaving the area that he is supposed to be guarding.
- Updated the “Kaobook” page within the game to refer to Akademi as an “academy” and not as a high school.
- Updated the artwork for the “Cherry Touch” manga that Ayano can purchase.
|

|
- Any student with the “Spiteful” Persona will no longer call the cops on the player or testify to the police about murder, after witnessing the murder of a student that they were being bullied by.
- Removed exploit that would allow the player to avoid being kicked out of a club at the end of Friday by simply skipping Friday on the Calendar screen.
- Removed text that referred to Akademi as a “high school” and replaced this text with the word “academy” instead.

|
- It’s no longer possible to spill a bucket of water in the dirt area of the gardening club, or on stairways. (It could result in puddles floating in midair).
- Chigusa will no longer agree to go talk to her suitor at the matchmaking spot if she is wearing a bikini. It was too weird (and caused bugs).
- Adjusted the tables/chairs in the 1980s Light Music Clubroom so that student pathfinding will no longer break around those objects.
- Since Raibaru can’t be poisoned on Tuesday, Info-chan’s “Poison Raibaru” Scheme is now disabled on Tuesday.
- Removed the “Debug Load” feature from the Load screen, since it lost its functionality.

- In extremely high-level Mission Mode missions (with very low school atmosphere) that involve poisoning a target, it was nearly impossible to poison any student at lunchtime because of the surrounding witnesses having an increased range of vision. To make these missions more feasible, there are now cardboard boxes in the hallways that provide the player with cover to hide behind while performing the poisoning animation. (I’m considering the possibility that the player should have to move these cardboard boxes into place, perhaps by carrying them and stacking them manually, but I’m not sure yet.)
- From now on, when talking to a club leader about their club, you will hear background music play that matches the atmosphere of their club. Spooky music for the Occult Club, traditional Japanese instruments for the Martial Arts club, dark hip hop for the delinquents, etc. (The Photography Club’s music becomes darker when its members switch to the “Sleuth” Persona, and the Light Music Club’s theme is different between 202X and 1989.)
- Delinquents who know that you’re a murderer will no longer continue to chase and attack you even after they have been defeated in a fight; they will now give up and run out of school after a single defeat. This is to prevent situations where a group of 3 delinquents is perpetually chasing you around, attacking you every 10 seconds or so.
- The “Stab Raibaru in the back with a weapon while she is fighting with a mind-broken slave to make her lose the fight” feature will now only work if the player is holding a small stabbing weapon such as a kitchen knife (it no longer works with blunt weapons such as baseball bats).
- Walking around with a garbage bag box is now considered suspicious outside of Cleaning Time. (This is only one way that I plan to nerf garbage bags. More nerfs are coming in the near future to balance this overpowered feature.)
- Gave Moeko a unique “light paper on fire and drop it in barrel” animation instead of using a previously-existing animation that was a rough approximation of the action she was supposed to be performing.
- Sped up Dracula-chan’s animations so that the Yanvania Dracula fight goes by faster, and also expanded her hitbox to her entire body since nobody seemed to realize that her weak point was her head.
- It is now possible to scroll up/down Info-chan’s Schemes, Services, and Drops menus by holding up/down instead of tapping up/down dozens of times until you reach the selection you’re searching for.
- Changed the 3D models that pop up when you craft a Chemistry item, since the player wouldn’t logically be receiving the crafted chemical in a plastic bottle with proper labeling on it.
- Added a “Skip” button to the “Ryoba talks while Jokichi is tied to a chair” cutscene at the end of 1980s Mode, so that players can skip the cutscene if they wish to.
- The crafting screen now has a little “hint” window at the bottom-right corner to help new players understand where to look for crafting materials/chemicals.
- Ryoba’s “Cooking Club Accessory” model in 1980s Mode now confirms to the shape of her hair, instead of being shaped for Ayano’s ponytail.
- Adjusted the size/shape of Ryoba’s smile at the end of the courtroom sequence, because it looked different than intended.
- Students will no longer agree to go check their locker for a note if they are currently wearing a swimsuit.
- A student will no longer agree to “Distract” or “Follow Me” or “Go Away” if they are wearing a swimsuit.
- Suitors will no longer stalk the girl they have a crush on if their crush is currently in the bathroom.
- It is now possible to report a corpse to teachers even if class is in session.
- Updated the model and texture for Kyoshi (the tan blonde gym teacher of Ayano’s time period).

- Previously, characters would recognize a mop as a “bloody mop” if it had touched a blood puddle for even one frame. From now on, a mop needs to be at least 50% bloody for a character to recognize it as a “bloody mop” and thus potential evidence of a crime.
- During the “If I can’t have you…no one can” segment of SNAP Mode, Senpai leaned forward towards Ayano, which looked really weird. I asked an animator to adjust this animation so that Senpai doesn’t lean forward anymore. I’m much more pleased with the animation now.
- The text “Take off your clothes at your locker!” will now appear when a player tries to take a shower in the shower building without taking off their clothing first. (New players have difficulty figuring this out.)
- It is now possible to buy an infinite number of emetic poison bottles from Info-chan in Mission Mode, so that the player can complete a Multi-Target mission that involves killing 10 people with poison.
- There is now a “Skip” button for advancing quickly through the “Osana confesses to Senpai” cutscene in 202X.
- Slightly adjusted the 1980s Mode rivals’ likes and dislikes.
- Updated all of the models in Ayano’s room. It’s the same color scheme, so it might look mostly the same, but I assure you, everything is different now. There are also new little details – for example, at night time, the curtains of the room are no longer open.
- The railing on Akademi’s rooftop is now white-and-gold to match the white-and-gold aesthetic of the game.
- Updated Info-chan’s phone icon to more closely represent the hairstyle she uses in her new portrait.
- All of the 1980s Mode rivals now have faces that more closely match their official artwork.
- Replaced all of the models and textures in the Occult Club’s clubroom.
- Replaced all of the cover artwork for the “Life Note” manga books.
- Slightly adjusted the 1980s Mode rivals’ likes and dislikes.
- Updated the models for the gate at Akademi’s entrance.
- Updated the models for the changing booths.

- In the original release of 1980s Mode, it was possible to earn a maximum of $55,000 by selling hostages to the Yakuza. Because it was so easy to make money, I decided to update the game so that the Yakuza’s prices got more expensive with each passing week. In another update, I lowered the total amount of money that the player could obtain from the Yakuza…but I didn’t adjust his prices accordingly. To correct this, I have adjusted the rate of “Yakuza Price Inflation” so that it should now be possible to do a “Yakuza-Only Playthrough” using just the money earned from selling hostages to the Yakuza.
- While developing the Light Music Club’s rhythm minigame, I needed a way to get a game over fast so I could quickly test the Game Over feature, so I added a debug command: Pressing the spacebar would instantly fail the minigame. However, when I released this feature, I forgot to take out the debug command, and it actually remained in the game. I’ve removed that command in this update, since it was never intended to be present after I finished testing the feature.
- A highly-requested feature is now in the game; it is now possible to “One-Button Equip” an item from the bookbag using the same method as retrieving a weapon from the weapon bag. While Yandere Vision is enabled, you can now press one button to instantly conceal or retrieve an item in the bookbag, without having to remove the bookbag first.
- I learned that, when a new player experiences the stalker house stealth mission for the first time, they don’t really understand what to do. To provide some direction, instructions now appear at the top of the screen to remind the player of their current objective and what they should be trying to do.
- From now on, any student who is splashed with liquid at cleaning time – who was planning on going swimming immediately after cleaning time – will just change into their swimsuit instead of their gym clothes, since they were planning to change into a swimsuit, anyway.
- New players usually don’t understand that it’s possible to allocate study points by tapping left/right at the “studying in class” screen, so from now on, a warning window will pop up whenever the player tries to leave that screen without allocating any points.
- A lot of people were complaining about problems with Ryoba’s hair physics in her home, in the street, and in the asylum. I didn’t personally observe these problems, but I’ve made adjustments to her physics settings to potentially fix the problem for others.
- The player must now wait 4 seconds between uses of the “study in library to pass time” feature. It’s necessary, in order to avoid creating bugs in events that depend on a certain amount of time passing.
- The “Speedrun Timer” (that appears when pressing the “Delete” key on your keyboard) will no longer freeze when the game is paused or go super fast when the player is using the speed-up-time feature.
- It should no longer be possible for the corpse of a student to clip through a wall if you perform the running animation into/next to a wall or a corner and then release their corpse.
- Raibaru will now ignore weapons dropped on the ground in situations here she very obviously should be noticing other, more significant things nearby (such as Osana’s corpse).
- Removed exploit that would allow the player to use the Student Info menu in unintended ways by pressing a directional button and the “Confirm” button simultaneously.
- Bully girls now sit on a bench and eat lunch at lunchtime during Mission Mode, so that it’s possible to complete a Mission Mode mission about poisoning the bullies.
- The camera now follows the protagonist during a “Push victim off rooftop” animation, instead of staying far away from the protagonist throughout the animation.
- Chigusa will now sit in a different location at lunchtime, because her previous sitting location could cause her to clip into one of the male students.
- It is now possible to use Yandere Vision during the stalker house stealth mission, and see red outlines of the house’s family members through walls.
- Doubled the speed of the animation that Osana performs when she psyches herself up to give a bento to Senpai, since the old one was way too slow.
- The car battery now has a cyan outline around it in Yandere Vision, since all objects with utility are supposed to be cyan in Yandere Vision.
- It is now possible to lockpick your way into a clubroom after the club has been shut down and the doors have been locked.
- The “Sakyu Basu will take off her ring” event in the Schedule screen has been removed, since that event no longer occurs.
- Restored the missing “closing shower curtain” animation that was supposed to play when a female student took a shower.
- Made adjustments that might improve the framerate when looking towards the school at the beginning of the school day.
- Sumire now wears white socks in the tutorial, since that’s what she’s wearing in her official character artwork.
- The “Entering SNAP Mode” sequence is now 1 second shorter, because it was just too long before.
- SNAP Mode now incorporates depth-of-field effects (it didn’t before.)

- In the last build, I adjusted the bullies’ routine in Mission Mode so that they would eat lunch instead of sunbathing at lunchtime. This is because I completely forgot that it was already possible for the player to change the bullies’ routine by using the “Pool’s Closed” sign to stop them from visiting the pool. I’ve changed it back to the way it was before.
- Added missing words / removed extra words from the text that appears onscreen during the “monologue describing next rival” segments of 1980s Mode.
- Removed exploit that allowed the player to kill Ui Tunesu during the tutorial buy crafting a knife at the workbench.

- During Osana’s week, on Friday, the Art Club paints the cherry tree where Osana confesses to Senpai. This is so that there are witnesses nearby Osana while she’s waiting under the tree for Senpai, so that it’s not too easy for the player to simply run up and murder Osana there with no consequences. However, there were several oversights: The female members of the Art Club were not present, the characters’ cones of vision were not large enough to actually see Osana being murdered, and the characters’ vision was blocked by the canvases they were painting on. All of these oversights have been resolved, so that now the Art Club actually reacts and takes action if they witness murder under the cherry tree on Friday.
- If a student was running to report something suspicious to a teacher – a weapon, a blood pool, a bloody weapon, etc – that student would completely ignore the presence of any corpses while on their way to report the suspicious object, even if they were running through a corridor completely filled with dead bodies. From now on, any student who is running to report something to a teacher will still be able to notice corpses, and will change their priority from “report suspicious object” to “report corpse.”
- If a student takes an incriminating photo of the player with their phone, and then the player kills that student, the student will drop their phone. This dropped phone can be found by police, who will find the incriminating photo and arrest the player. This outcome can be avoided by crushing the dropped phone under your foot. However, there was a bug that would cause the dropped phone to turn invisible if the player concealed the victim inside of a garbage bag. This bug has been fixed.
- A Teacher’s Pet reacts to murder by reporting it to a teacher – but if someone else is already reporting the murder, the Pet runs and hides in their classroom, instead. However, if a Teacher’s Pet witnesses murder INSIDE of their classroom WHILE they are hiding inside of it, they should no longer consider their classroom to be a safe hiding place. So, from now on, Teacher’s Pets will run out of school if they witness murder while they are hiding in a classroom.
- When the player was caught misbehaving by the student council and sent to the counselor, the game would check for the presence of corpses on school grounds, but would not check for bloody weapons on school grounds, or even for bloody weapons in the player’s inventory. This oversight has been fixed; the game now checks for the presence of those things when sending the player to the counselor.
- The player will now lose sanity while dropping a heavy weight onto someone’s head from above, pushing a sleeping student into the pool, crushing someone with a bookcase, setting someone on fire with a candle/bunsen burner while they are doused with gasoline, electrocuting someone with a thrown car battery, or putting lethal poison into someone’s food.
- From now on, if a student is hiding in their classroom because they suspect a murderer is at school, they will react negatively when they see the protagonist wearing a raincoat; they’ll immediately jump to the conclusion that the protagonist is planning a murder and is be wearing a raincoat to avoid getting bloody.
- If the player killed Osana and framed someone else for the crime, the game would incorrectly log her manner of death, so in the “Senpai meets Amai” cutscene, the game would freeze one it gets to the part of the cutscene where Senpai is supposed to explain what happened to Osana. This bug has been fixed.
- If a student witnesses the player poisoning their bento at lunchtime, that student will refuse to eat their bento. However, if Osana witnessed Ayano poisoning her bento or Senpai’s bento on Monday morning, she would proceed forward with the bento event anyway. This oversight has been corrected.
- Students now think that it’s weird and annoying if the player repeatedly turns on a loud radio playing obnoxious music. They’ll tolerate it the first time, but if they witness the player doing it more than once, they’ll get annoyed and your reputation will be damaged.
- From now on, any student at school who does not have a crush on another student will have “None” in their student profile, and if they do have a crush on another student, it will say “Unknown” in their student profile (until the player uncovers who it is).
- If the player joined the delinquents, then got the delinquents expelled from school, the player would lose the ability to quit the delinquent gang, and would be stuck in the gang, unable to ever join any other club. This bug has been fixed.
- One of the buttons that is visible at the bottom of the screen in Yandere Vision was greyed out, making it seem as though the button had no functionality, even though the button was indeed functional. This oversight has been fixed.
- Osana’s “talk with Musume in the plaza on Friday morning” event will no longer occur if Osana is busy looking for her lost phone; she would be too preoccupied with her missing phone to care what Musume wanted to talk about.
- From now on, if a student is pushed from the rooftop, nearby students will react to the noise that is caused by the student striking the ground or landing in the dumpster, and will walk over to investigate what they heard.
- From now on, if the player brings a screwdriver from home to school, the “Sabotage a vending machine with a screwdriver” Scheme will skip from Step 1 to Step 2 (no need to find a screwdriver; the player already has one).
- Students will now find it annoying if you keep giggling in their presence. Giggling more than 5 times while nearby a student will now cause them to react negatively and damage your reputation.
- Added “Ichirou Saikou graduates from Akademi” to the timeline at the end of the True Ending, since a lot of people presumed that he didn’t graduate because that text wasn’t in the timeline.
- When using the “teleport to music clubroom” debug command in 1980s Mode, the weapons that spawn inside the music clubroom will no longer clip inside of the tables inside of that room.
- Removed exploit that made it possible to escape the Journalist by laughing if the Journalist became aware of Ryoba’s murderous actions while Ryoba was laughing.
- Rivals will no longer agree to follow you at lunchtime, since it’s way too easy to kill a rival by just waiting until lunchtime and asking her to follow you.
- From now on, if you shove a student from the rooftop, nearby students on the rooftop will hear the scream and walk over to investigate.
- If a student council member spotted the player misbehaving while guarding a corpse, the game would softlock. This bug has been fixed.
- The current week is now displayed at the top-right corner of the screen, in addition to the current time, weekday, and phase of day.
- Students who are set on fire while standing in front of a wall should no longer clip through the wall during their death animation.
- It is now possible to use Pose Mode to make a girl wear the loose socks of Raibaru and the stockings of Dafuni, Inkyu, or Sakyu.
- Kidnapping a student will now lower school atmosphere by 90%, because students should be worried if somebody suddenly vanishes.
- An adjustment has been made that may reduce the loading times when returning from school to the protagonist’s home.
- Adjusted the color of the pause screens in Mission Mode so that the text should be more legible now.
- Increased the volume of some of Osana’s voice lines, since they were too quiet.
- Updated the appearance of the “Nozama” shopping screen.
- Updated Yui Rio’s hair model.

- After eliminating Osana, the game will display a message the next time the player enters the Calendar screen; a message that basically says, “Now that you’ve defeated your rival, you have the choice of continuing to attend school or just skipping directly to the next week.” However, this message didn’t display in 1980s Mode. I’ve updated the Calendar screen so that this message appears in 1980s Mode, too, so that new players who are playing Yandere Sim for the first time don’t get confused about what they’re supposed to be doing after they’ve eliminated their first rival.
- At high school atmosphere, the scream of a student being pushed off the school rooftop was not reaching Kokona and Saki, who were standing very close to the place where the student screamed. The scream was only reaching them at low school atmosphere (where students react to screams from further distances because they’re actively listening for screams). I’ve decided to increase the “size” of a scream that emanates from a student being pushed from the rooftop so that Kokona and Saki will actually react to it even at high school atmosphere.
- The “Fire Student Council Member” service is only available in Mission Mode. It is greyed out in the normal gameplay mode, which was supposed to indicate to the player that this feature is inaccessible outside of Mission Mode – but many players were still trying to access it, believing that it would become available if some kind of criteria was met. To prevent this misunderstanding from taking place, the “Fire Student Council Member” service will no longer even appear on the list in normal gameplay mode.
- Corrected an oversight in the 9th Rival’s week. If School Atmosphere is so low that the Photography Clubmembers have transformed into “Sleuths”, or if the entire Photography Club is dead, then the club wouldn’t be willing/able to participate in the 9th Rival’s photo shoot at the school pool. So, from now on, under those circumstances, the 9th Rival will no longer perform a photo shoot at the school pool, and instead will walk around school.
- When the player defeats a student or a teacher in the struggle minigame, the player tosses their corpse to the side. This would sometimes result in a character’s corpse clipping into a nearby wall, causing their ragdoll physics to freak out. From now on, chacters will move/rotate away from nearby walls after losing the Struggle Minigame, preventing the clipping or janky ragdolling from happening anymore.
- Removed exploit that allowed the player to sneak metal weapons past metal detectors by putting them into a bag. (I do think there should be a way to sneak metal weapons past metal detectors, but I think that the player should have to do little bit of extra work to modify a container so that it fools metal detectors. I’ll implement the feature in a future update.)
- From now on, when selecting the “Gossip” option from the student interaction wheel, the Student Info Menu will open on the last student that the player gossiped about, instead of resetting to the first student every time. This should make it easier to gossip about one student repeatedly, without having to manually re-select that student every time the menu is opened.
- Previously, the player was disallowed from pushing Ritsuko (the 5th rival of 1980s Mode) into the school pool if any students were present nearby. From now on, it is possible to do so if witnesses are present, but any witnesses see you kill her, they will immediately identify you as a murderer.
- If a teacher or student council member is guarding a corpse, they will no longer care if the player is trespassing nearby, since guarding a corpse / looking for a killer is more important than shouting at a student for trespassing.
- If the player was sent to the counselor in 1989 for taking lewd photographs, the counselor would describe the player as taking pictures with a “phone”. This was historically inaccurate, so the line has been changed for 1980s Mode.
- It is no longer possible for the player to collide with the weapon bag or the cello case, since the player could exploit those objects to build “staircases” that allowed the player to reach places they shouldn’t be able to reach.
- Once again, made adjustments to the “dump corpse into manhole” script in an attempt to eliminate the “corpse floats upwards after hitting the water” or “corpse floats just above the water” scenarios.
- Time will now freeze when the “Practice with Clubmembers” window is onscreen, to remove exploits that were only possible by letting large amounts of time pass while that window remained onscreen.
- A student will no longer react to stink bombs if they are dealing with something much more important – being soaking wet, reacting to consuming any type of poison, vomiting, or swimming.
- The “Provide Rival’s Dark Secrets” service can only be purchased once per week, but the text description implied that it could only be purchased once, ever. This text has been re-worded.
- Updated the mask that appears on Ayano’s face after she joins the delinquents to match the “Delinquent Ayano” artwork that was added to the Characters page of the official website.
- After joining the delinquents Ayano will now obtain ear piercings so that her in-game appearance matches her delinquent design on the Characters page of the official website.
- It is now possible to use the “Void Goddess” (floating spider lady) to disable the Journalist in 1980s Mode (by pressing the “E” key while highlighting Info-chan’s icon).
- Made a rendering optimization that should drastically improve the FPS when looking towards the school while standing at the mythical cherry tree hill.
- Corrected an error in one of Jose’s subtitles (every teacher in school is a woman, so he should have been saying “professora” instead of “professor”).
- From now on, it will no longer be considered “suspicious” to walk around with a lit candle in your hands if you are a member of the Occult Club.
- It is no longer possible to be electrocuted by a puddle of water if you are wearing a raincoat and rubber boots while you step into the puddle.
- Cooking Club students should no longer attempt to feed a student who is currently asleep in the school infirmary after eating drugged food.
- Reading your rival’s diary will now cause their likes and dislikes to appear on their “Opinions” page within their Student Info page.
- Added a “Personas” tutorial to the tutorial menu so that players can learn about the “Change your Persona” mechanic.
- It is now possible to rapidly scroll up/down the Student Info Menu by holding the up/down buttons.
- Changed Yuna Hina’s hair model; now it looks much more like her original classic hair style.
- Corrected typo on the golden emblem above the school gate; “Akademi” was spelled “Academi.”
- The price of the Yakuza’s narcotics now goes up every week, exactly like the explosives.
- Added one new plushie to the plushie shelf. Welcome, Oishiioppa!
- Replaced all 1980s Mode rival hair models.

- Previously, a sabotaged power strip would only recognize a puddle of water if it was created through a scripted event (sabotaging a pipe with a wrench), and would not recognize any puddle of water that was created by dumping water from a bucket of water. This is no longer the case; sabotaged power strips will now always be able to recognize that they are inside of a puddle of water, even if that puddle was not created through a scripted event.
- Osana will no longer react to a stink bomb if she is reacting to the sight of Senpai’s book floating in water. Reacting to the destruction of Senpai’s book is more important to her than a bad smell.
- With advice from a native Portuguese speaker, I’ve adjusted some of Joze’s Portuguese dialogue to sound more natural.
- Removed the blue tint from the Student Profiles, since most people seemed to dislike them.
- Corrected a typo in Shinako Bunzai’s student profile.

- I’d like to try an experiment. I want to know if the trees and flower petals around school are contributing towards the low framerate that some users experience. So, I’ve implemented a debug command for disabling all trees and petals at school. Press the “Y” key 10 times to disable all trees and petals at school. After that, you can press the “Y” key again to toggle the trees/petals on and off. Please let me know if this solves any framerate issues that you are having.
- From now on, Raibaru will walk – not run – to her “talk with Osana before walking into school” event. This should reduce (or, hopefully, eliminate) the feasibility of an exploit which allowed the player to kill Osana early in the day without Raibaru noticing by using the “Pass Time” feature to break Raibaru’s pathfinding, which becomes less stable the faster she is moving.
- Arranging a meeting with a rival at 5:00 PM on Friday was an exploit that would allow the player to prevent a rival from putting a note into Senpai’s locker to arrange a confession. This exploit has been removed; rivals will no longer agree to a meeting that late into the day, because it’s too close to their planned confession to Senpai.
- The player is not allowed to save the game while any type of bloody clothing is present on the ground at school. When the player tries to save the game under those circumstances, the game displays warning text. However, the warning text referred specifically to bloody uniforms and not clothing in general. This has been fixed.
- From now on, the length of the string coming out of a watercooler tripwire trap will be relative to the distance between the watercooler and the nearest wall. (This is a “Whoa, Technology!” feature to me.) This prevents an exploit that was previously used to use the tripwire trap on students who were on the other side of a wall.
- Teachers in all time periods and the student council boys of 1989 will no longer perform a “scared” animation when they hear a suspicious noise during low school atmosphere, since they’re supposed to be authority figures, and thus they shouldn’t seem cowardly or easily scared.
- The rival will no longer react to giggles or talk to the player on Friday morning while she is on her way to put papers onto Senpai’s desk. She is taking that favor for Senpai so seriously that she doesn’t want to respond to any distractions until she’s taken care of it.
- If the player reduced a prisoner’s sanity, went to school, and then used the “Reset at Home” feature, the game would not reset the prisoner’s sanity to what it originally was (nor would it reset the time of day properly). This bug has been fixed.
- When creating a new save file in 1980s Mode, the button for entering the “Week Select” screen was marked as “Debug”. This was vague and didn’t provide any information on what the button actually did, so the text has been changed to “Week Select.”
- Many players were using an exploit that allowed them to make Ayano’s camera clip through a solid wall so that they could take a “Sneak Panty Shot” of a character who was on the other side of a wall. Naughty! This exploit has been removed.
- When a student is alarmed by your actions, a “Detection Marker” will appear onscreen, indicating the direction of the student that you are alarming. From now on, “Detection Markers” will no longer appear in photographs that you take.
- If the player befriended a rival, then later committed a murder in front of that rival, that rival would still testify positively about Ryoba during the court case at the end of the game. This oversight has been resolved.
- The player can no longer use an emergency shower by walking into it while holding a club uniform. It will only accept clean school uniforms, not club uniforms. (This is the way it was always intended to work.)
- Previously, it was impossible to create a “chain” of electrified puddles of water if the first puddle in the chain was electrified by a sabotaged power strip. It should now be possible.
- From now on, if the nurse catches the player breaking into the medicine cabinet, the nurse will actually close and lock the cabinet after sending the player to the guidance counselor.
- If you try to leave school, Ayano says “…Senpai…” but in the Mission Mode timeline, Senpai is dead, so she shouldn’t say that! The line has been changed for Mission Mode.
- The player will no longer hear the sound of the Light Music Club’s instruments (when they are practicing together as a band after 5:00 PM) while on the floor underneath them.
- Any student who witnesses the player create a “bucket over doorway” trap or a “watercooler tripwire” trap will now dismantle the trap if they walk through the door/string.
- Covered up locations on the school rooftop where the player could see “gaps” between the interior and exterior of the school if the camera was angled in a specific way.
- Adjusted the positions of the masks that the protagonist can wear, so that the masks don’t clip into her hair or have the eye-holes positioned far from her actual eyes.
- The “Electrocute” section of the “Ideas” menu in Ryoba’s pause screen notepad has been updated with more information about how to perform an electrocution elimination.
- The “back away slowly when witnessing someone die in a disturbing way” state will now only be triggered when the victim is less than 5 meters away from the witness.
- Buying a box of bang snaps from Info-chan gives the player 20 bang snaps. However, the text on the box said “100” instead of “20.” This oversight has been fixed.
- The player can no longer put an entire raincoat (plus gloves, plus galoshes) into a bookbag, since that entire outfit would be way too big to fit inside the bag.
- There is now a sound effect when picking up buckets. (I thought I added this years ago, but it turns out I only applied it to one bucket at school. Oops!)
- The uniform that the player is wearing in the “Thanks For Playing!” scene now reflects the uniform that the player chose at the start of the game.
- Changed the text that displays when joining the 1980s Mode Photography Club, since that club’s bonus in 1989 is different from the bonus in 202X.
- From now on, a student that is following the player will stop following if the player enters a “trespassing” area, such as the faculty room.
- If the player puts a bucket of water above a door while in view of other students, those students will now react negatively to the player.
- It is now possible to use the “Escape” key to instantly pull up the “Return to Main Menu?” window from inside of the protagonist’s home.
- Yui and Haruto now have the “Spiteful” Personas instead of the Loner Personas, as an homage to their original “evil” personalities.
- From now on, objects will no longer clip through walls if the player is directly facing a wall while dropping an object.
- The act of sabotaging a power strip with a screwdriver will now be considered “suspicious” by any witnesses nearby.
- Corrected misinformation in Info-chan’s Schemes menu (claimed that it was possible to poison Raibaru on Wednesday).
- Female delinquents in 1980s Mode now arrive at class late, just like the male delinquents do.
- Some of the toilets at school didn’t have any water in them. This issue has been fixed.
- The “Makeshift Knife” didn’t have an inventory icon until now. Oops! Now it does.
- Yaku’s visor was incorrect in his student profile. It’s been fixed.
- Added another plushie to the plushie shelf! Welcome, Victorialand5!
- The “rummage in faculty room” action now goes by 2x as fast.

- It is now possible to repair a sabotaged power strip and also unplug a power strip from a wall, meaning that the player can now use the power strip for electrocutions multiple times in multiple locations around the school in one day. This change was made to assist Mission Mode players.
- You can now find a box of aluminum foil sheets in the Home Ec room. You can bring this box to the weapon bag and pad the inside of the weapon bag with foil. After doing so, metal detectors will become unable to detect any metal weapon that is inside of the weapon bag.

- Testing a change to student protocol. Previously, students were incapable of reacting to corpses while they were in the “wearing towel and walking to shower to clean up” state. This was a deliberate design decision. However, every week, many players reported this as a “bug.” The reason why I wanted to keep it this way was to simplify matters; to prevent students from being able to enter a situation where they are in a towel, but doing things such as running to the faculty room to talk to teachers. However, it does look strange and unnatural for someone wearing a towel to calmly walk past a corpse. So, I’m going to try something: I’m going to make it possible for students in that “towel” state to react to corpses. However, if this creates a large number of new bugs, I’m just going to revert it back to how it was before. “The student doesn’t react to the corpse because they are focusing their attention on taking a shower and there is too much steam in the shower building to see clearly while they are focusing on doing something else” will be the explanation.
- If Raibaru smells gasoline nearby, she will warn Osana that something isn’t right. Previously, she only reacted to gasoline in a bucket. From now on, she will also warn Osana about the smell of gasoline coming from a nearby sabotaged water cooler, which will cause Osana to keep an eye out for the trap and disable it when she passes by it.
- After the player eliminates Osana, she appears at the title screen, and her appearance reflects the way she was eliminated (burned, drowned, electrocuted, etc). If Osana was rejected, Senpai would appear nearby her, except he was using his old hairstyle instead of his new hairstyle. His hair has been updated.
- Updated some of the models around Akademi (the pillars that appear at the corners of the exterior of the school building and the doorway that leads into the pool’s pump room).
- From now on, while crouching / crawling, the camera will not lower itself to such an extreme degree as before, and the camera movement with be smooth instead of abrupt.
- All text boxes that appear in the Calendar screen of 1980s Mode will now appear blue-and-white instead of pink-and-white, which is the color scheme of 202X Mode.
- Nearby radios will no longer play music during a game over sequence, since the radio music ruins the mood of the game over.
- Finally gave a proper texture to the pens that the characters hold, which have all just been solid red this entire time.
- The act of sweeping the mop is now accompanied by a sound effect, instead of being completely silent.
- Horuda Puresu will now smile and walk with straight posture if all of the bullies are dead.
- Changed the hair model of the mysterious woman who walks around in the shopping street.
- Updated the textures for some of the window frames and door frames around school.
- Changed the outfit that Amai wears in the cutscene where she meets Senpai.

- I’ve made an optimization to the way that the game renders the UI. This should, theoretically, improve the framerate significantly. If you suffer from a low framerate while playing Yandere Simulator, please compare your FPS between the previous build and current build and inform me if there has been a significant improvement. Thank you!
- The act of activating or deactivating Yandere Vision now has an accompanying sound effect! Additionally, Yandere Vision now has a “drone” or “hum” as long as it is active. If people complain that the SFX don’t sound appropriate, they will be adjusted in the future.
- Previously, if the player got kicked out of a club for never showing up for club activities, the club leader would speak to the player as if they had a low reputation. New subtitle text has been added that is more appropriate for the circumstances.
- The act of putting objects onto the Chemistry Workbench and crafting chemicals there now uses different sound effects than the Crafting Workbench.
- Students with the “Heroic” Persona or “Violent” Persona will no longer perform the “knees trembling” animation when School Atmosphere is low.

- Certain craftable materials shouldn’t disappear after they’ve been obtained, because they are a container of multiple items. For example, the container of hairpins and the container of paperclips. From now on, the containers won’t disappear after the player has grabbed some materials from them, meaning that the player to keep crafting certain items as long as they run back to where the materials were found and grab some more from the container.
- In the retro minigame, there is now a slight time gap between getting a game over and being allowed to retry, so that the player is less likely to mash the button and skip directly past the game over before they get to see what their score was.
- The “Dot Matrix” handheld gaming device now uses a different texture depending on what time period you’re using it in. In 1989, it looks brand new. In 202X, it looks like it has 30 years of wear-and-tear.
- The heart’s hitbox in the retro minigame is now more accurate to the shape of a heart, so that you are less likely to get a “WTF, it wasn’t even touching!!” type of game over.
- In a previous build, I updated Miyuji’s hair model, but I never updated her portrait. Oops! Miyuji’s portrait has now been updated.

- If one of the sparring martial artists was not present in the martial arts club, the other one would just stand there forever, and the martial artists would never move from one location to another. From now on, if there is only one sparring martial artist present, that character will perform a “kick demonstration” for the benefit of the other members while waiting for their partner to arrive, and the martial artists will periodically change the location where the demonstration is occurring.
- The layout of the school was actually not perfectly symmetrical, because some of the closet doors were aligned “left” instead of “right”. This actually did have an effect on gameplay (it meant that the light music club members practicing in the hallways would notice you inside of some closets but not other closets) so I’ve decided to reposition those closet doors.
- A student should reject any gossip about a close friend or family member. So, from now on, Sakyu Basu and Inkyu Basu will reject your gossip if you try to gossip about her sister, and Osana/Raibaru will reject your gossip if you try to gossip about either of them to the other. The list of “special case gossip rejection” may expand in the future.
- The “Phone Jammer” in the Alphabet Killer Challenge will now jam landline phone calls in 1980s Mode. (I know that this isn’t how phone jammers actually work, but it’s meant to be a difficulty setting for the ABC Challenge, not meant to be something that functions 100% realistically.)
- From now on, during the guidance counselor scene, if you are playing with mouse+keyboard instead of controller, you will be able to use the WASD or arrow keys to control the little target icon that is used to select your dialogue choice, instead of being required to use the mouse.
- Sonoko will no longer shove the player if the player has solved her “Evil Photographer” problem. (However, she will still shove the player if the player has performed a Task for her. She doesn’t trust Ryoba even after the Task is completed.)
- Previously, if a rival was expelled from school, her bookbag would remain on her desk, as if she wasn’t even allowed to grab her things before being kicked out of school. From now on, her bookbag will disappear as soon as she is expelled.
- From now on, Otohiko will run to school in the center of the walkway that leads up to the school gate, instead off of to the side, so that he will no longer slide all the way over to the center of the school gate when he trips.
- The boys who follow Chigusa (the 9th 1980s Mode rival) will now stop following her when she is obviously having a private conversation, since they wouldn’t want to make her angry by getting caught eavesdropping on her.
- Teiko (the 8th rival of 1980s Mode, the “prodigy”) now has a much different routine; she walks back and forth between the faculty room and the library, assisting the teachers in gathering materials for lessons.
- Students will no longer attend meetings if they are wearing swimsuits. If you’ve scheduled a meeting for a time of day when a character will be wearing a swimsuit, they’ll just never show up to the meeting.
- Students now react to the sight of a mind-broken slave instead of completely ignoring the presence of a girl wearing rags shuffling through school while muttering “…kill…kill…kill…” to herself.
- It is now possible to access the “Ideas” menu while in Ryoba’s home, because there isn’t any reason why that menu option should be unavailable at home.
- The training baton will no longer have an outline in Yandere Vision, since it was confusing players who didn’t understand why they couldn’t pick it up.
- From now on, a corpse dropped from the school rooftop will actually make a sound when it hits the ground, alarming nearby students.
- Picking up a crafting item will now cause a notification to appear onscreen, so that players understand they’ve obtained an item.
- The Journalist will no longer become alarmed by the player when the “Cloaking Device” is active in the Alphabet Killer Challenge.
- If Osana is being bullied at school, she will no longer perform her Thursday afternoon pool event; she’s too sad to sunbathe.
- Adjusted the “entering Yandere Vision” and “exiting Yandere Vision” sound effects so that they would not be so cartoony.
- It is no longer possible to hear the Light Music Club practicing their music when you are on the floor above them.
- Delinquents will no longer counterattack you if they are blinded by a smoke bomb when you try to attack them.
- Removed the “blue tint” from the 202X student portraits. The tint had been re-activated on accident.
- The loud sound of a bucket striking a student’s head from above will now alarm nearby students.
- Sleuths will no longer follow their targets into bathrooms.
- A certain texture has been updated. I won’t point out which one it is. The only thing I’ll say about it is that it’s related to the lore/history/backstory of the game, but there is no way for you to know – at this point in time – what its relevance is. The significance of this texture won’t be readily apparent for a long time. However, you might get a clue on Halloween…

- Komako – the 8th rival of 1980s Mode – had a very boring daily routine: “Stand in the plaza, talk to 11 people simultaneously.” She now has a much more interesting routine, one that still makes sense even if she remains present at the school on subsequent weeks, when the other students’ routines have changed; she walks around the school’s two Zen gardens, admiring various aspects of them. Her followers don’t really try to talk with her, but instead, they talk amongst themselves about how graceful she looks. (I’d like to implement a “talking amongst each other” animation in the future, if the animation volunteers become free to help out with that.)
- It’s weird to ask someone to follow you and then just take out a photograph and stare at it silently. So, from now on, if the player starts using the “Pass Time” feature while being followed by a student, the student will complain about the player spacing out and then leave.
- The term “Feed List” has been changed to “Catering List”, because “Feed List” was always a really weird term.

- If the player gets blood (or red paint) on club clothing, and then washes the blood off with a washing machine, the player can now change back into the clean club clothing while inside of the shower building. (The player must be wearing a towel to change into the clean clothing.)
- For some reason, all Science Club members ended their clubroom duties and went to class at different times, instead of all at once. I think this was an accident. So, I’ve adjusted their routines; they now all depart for class simultaneously.
- It didn’t really make sense to allow the player to put a student’s lost phone onto their desk while the student was searching for their phone at their desk (or while in full view of witnesses) so the player is now disallowed from doing so.
- It didn’t really make sense to allow the player to attend class while wearing a swimsuit, so from now on, the player is now disallowed from doing so.
- It didn’t really make sense to allow the player to attend class while wearing a raincoat, so from now on, the player is now disallowed from doing so.
- The Basu Sisters tell each other everything, so from now on, if one of them sees you commit murder, both of them will hold a grudge against you.
- It didn’t really make sense to allow the player to attend class while wearing a mask, so from now on, the player is now disallowed from doing so.
- It is no longer suspicious for the player to carry a bloody painter’s smock, because it’s expected to see splashes of color on a painter’s smock.
- After classes end, the “REP WILL UPDATE AFTER CLASS” label now changes to “REP WILL UPDATE AFTER SCHOOL.”
- Students no longer try to attend Amai’s bake sale while class is in session, or during cleaning time.
- Finally replaced the super-ugly stools in the shower building with far superior ones.

- Previously, the boys who stalked followed Chigusa (the 9th rival of 1980s Mode) were performing “talking” animations while watching her. This was never my vision for how they were supposed to be behaving around her. A set of new animations has been created for them that actually reflect what I had in mind for the boys. They now look hyped/excited that there is a celebrity in school, and they look at one another as if they’re saying “Yo, do you see this bro??” which is what I originally had in mind. I’m very happy to finally be including new animations into the game after so long!
- If the player is standing too close to the confession tree when a suitor and a rival are standing under the tree, the confession cutscene won’t begin, because the rival wants some privacy before she confesses her love. The player needs to walk a short distance away from the tree to begin the cutscene. Few players understood this, and kept mistakenly believing that the cutscene was broken or something. To resolve this, a “You’re too close, back away from the tree” message will now appear whenever the player is in a “too close to tree, confession cutscene won’t start” state.
- The “REP WILL UPDATE AFTER CLASS” text has been removed. From now on, when you try to perform an action that requires a specific amount of reputation, and you have enough “pending rep” to perform that action, a “Your rep will update the next time you go to class” notification will appear onscreen. It’s better to have a notification appear onscreen only at the exact moment it’s relevant, rather than displayed onscreen permanently.
- Normally, delinquents refuse to listen to you when you try to tell them that there is a note in their locker. This made it impossible to complete certain Mission Mode missions. From now on, delinquents will always agree to check their lockers for notes in Mission Mode.
- It didn’t make sense that carrying a cleaning item was considered just as suspicious as walking around with a bloody weapon while covered head-to-toe in blood. So, from now on, carrying a cleaning item will be considered 50% as suspicious as other actions.
- Ayano/Ryoba will now wear her school uniform when she is in town in the morning, since it doesn’t make sense for her to change out of her school uniform just to walk around in town. She’ll only wear casual clothes at night.
- Previously, if the player saved and loaded during one of Senpai and Osana’s morning conversations, the two of them would not animate upon reloading. From now on, they will continue to animate and speak after reloading.
- At the end of the 202X intro, some 3D renders flash by onscreen. Some of these renders were kind of low-quality. In the latest build, I’ve replaced some of these images with higher-quality renders.
- There is now an animation named “f02_defaultFace_00” in Pose Mode, which restores a female character’s face to her default expression. (Use “f02_smile_00” for characters that smile by default.)
- There is now a “use arrow keys to move the cursor” prompt at the bottom of the screen so that keyboard players understand what to do at the “respond to guidance counselor” screen.
- Made an adjustment to the way that blood pools spawn so that a trail of blood pools feels more like a “trail” and not like a series of individual blobs.
- The students in the Alphabet Killer Challenge will no longer reposition themselves according to Osana’s routine.
- Updated Miyuji’s textures. Also, she now wears different stockings after her club closes.
- Edited a student’s profile to remove a reference to Akademi as a “high school.”

- The player can now set “must dispose of corpse by dumping it into the sewer as a condition when designing a mission.
- The player can now set “must wear a lab coat while eliminating the target” as a condition when designing a mission.
- The player can now set “must dispose of corpse in a vat of acid” as a condition when designing a mission.
- The player can now select 14 more weapons as conditions when designing a mission.
- The player can now enable “Aggressive Nemesis” when designing a mission.
- If two students are in a relationship with one another, they will refuse to gossip about each other.
- Students will refuse to gossip about students that they are friends with.
- All clubmembers will refuse to gossip about each another.
- The Rainbow girls will refuse to gossip about each other.
- The Rainbow boys will refuse to gossip about each other.
- Kokona and Saki will refuse to gossip about each other.
- A girl’s suitor will refuse to gossip about her.
- If the player eliminated Moeko non-lethally and she continued to attend school on subsequent weeks, she would continue to perform her routine from Week 2 – standing around in the school plaza where the “Rainbow Boys” hang out. However, if the Rainbow Boys were not present, then she would simply stand in the plaza alone, performing a thinking animation. It looked weird and unnatural, so I’ve decided to give her a new routine on subsequent weeks. From now on, after Week 2, Moeko will spend more of her time in the area where she creates fires.
- If the player eliminated Chigusa non-lethally and she continued to attend school on Week 10, her routine would change to “walk around the first floor of the school building,” which was a lame routine, since it had nothing to do with her identity or personality. From now on, her Week 10 routine will be to walk around and look at all of the clubs at school. This is justified by something in her lore; she wants to be more than just a gravure model, and she is looking for something else to try to excel at, but can’t decide what to pursue. That’s why she walks around from club to club, looking at them all.
- Changed the appearance of the leader of the 1980s Martial Arts club. The leader of that club was always meant to use the hair model that has a bandana. It was an accident that someone else was wearing the bandana.
- It should no longer be possible for the gravure idol (Chigusa) or traditional girl (Komako) to get “stuck” on the characters who follow them around school.
- On Saturday/Sunday, Ayano/Ryoba do not wear their school uniforms. So, from now on, they won’t wear their school uniforms while in town during the daytime.
- From now on, posting gossip on Kaobook will always result in a reputation penalty. -20 for untrue gossip, and -10 for true gossip.
- Added a new weapon to the game – a scythe. The scythe can be found behind the gardening shed.
- Added Miyuji’s “after club shuts down” stockings as a stocking option on the Pose Mode menu.
- It is no longer considered suspicious to hold a kitchen knife inside of the Cooking Club.
- Updated hair models for Yuna and Sota.

- When the player is attacked by a Heroic student, the struggle minigame only begins if the player is armed with a short stabbing weapon. However, if the protagonist has a weapon in her inventory, then she would logically pull it out immediately as soon as the Hero started coming for her. It wouldn’t make sense for her to just stand there and get taken down without drawing her weapon. So, from now on, Ayano will automatically draw her weapon as soon as she is attacked by a Hero.
- After completing the Alphabet Killer Challenge, the player is teleported to the “Oh no!! It’s Megami!! Press F to kill her!!” scene. Because this was a joke scene, the game would automatically close itself after Megami was killed. However, this has been changed; the scene will now return the player to the title screen, instead.
- Previously, the “getting someone arrested restores School Atmosphere because everyone thinks the killer has been caught” feature would only restore 10% School Atmosphere. This made it kinda pathetic; not even worth the effort. So, from now on, it will restore 50% School Atmosphere.
- Students who are hiding in their classrooms, cowering in fear because they think a killer is in the school, will no longer react to being splashed with water; it’s irrelevant to them while much more important things are on their mind.
- Suitors now wait a little longer before leaving school, to reduce or eliminate the possibility that they will change their shoes at their locker and leave school before their crush has put a note in their locker.
- The boys and girls who follow Komako (the 8th rival of 1980s Mode) now perform “admiring” animations rather than “talking to thin air” animations when they gaze at her.
- The camera now zooms out a little bit when you’re wielding a scythe, since it’s weird for the character to be holding something that goes offscreen.
- It’s no longer possible to fit a scythe inside of a cello case, trash can, or weapon bag, since the scythe is way too large for those containers.
- Students will no longer react to water traps when they are busy mourning the death of a dead character on the ground in front of them.
- The gardening club girls now have unique portrait poses, instead of all of them using the “girly sway” animation.
- The little clock in Ayano’s room now accurately reflects what time of day it is.
- Added a new easter egg to the game as a birthday present for a friend. Activate debug commands at school and type “bloodmaid” to change the protagonist’s appearance. When this easter egg is active, you’ll find a new weapon in the Drama Club at school.

- When a student screams, nearby students will now look in the direction of the alarming thing the screaming student is screaming about, instead of staring at the screaming student himself. (It was supposed to work this way already, but a bug prevented it from working.)
- The 16 most recent additions to the Content Checklist now have unique icons with original artwork, instead of the crummy placeholder icons that I made in 5 minutes.
- One of the shots in the intro cutscene has been tweaked. It is not final, and further changes are pending in the future.
- Updated the delinquent boys’ textures to more accurately reflect their official character artwork.
- Otohiko is now performing a pose in his portrait instead of performing a neutral idle animation.
- Updated the eye textures for Borupen, Juku, Kyuji, Riku, Sho, Shozo, and Tsuruzo.

|
- The floor texture in the gym is now higher-resolution. Since it’s the largest mesh in the game, it needs a high-res texture, or else it’ll look very obviously blurry and low-quality. It was worth updating this texture, since the gym is featured prominently in the game’s tutorial, and as the first environment that new players will see when they play the game, I want it to leave a good impression on the player.
- The faceless girls who laugh at the protagonist during the low reputation game over are now using the hairstyle of Sumire Saitozaki, Ryoba’s first victim. Symbolism!
- The student portraits that recently received unique poses have reverted back to using the default pose.
- Ritsuko now has polished fingernails that match her official character artwork.
- The headmaster is no longer present at school during the 1980s Mode tutorial.
- Uekiya will now drop her shed keys after she is tranquilized.
- Replaced Sumire’s hair model. (The Sumire of 202X.)
- Kokona and Saki now have colored socks.
- Replaced hair models for Beshi, Horuda and Sumire (The Sumire of 202X.)
