Suitors

Suitors are a unique type of NPC in Yandere Simulator.

They are used in matchmaking to eliminate rivals peacefully. Eight of them have not been fully implemented as suitors yet. Kyuji Konagawa, Osana Najimi's suitor for the demo, Shoku Tsuburaya, Amai Odayaka's suitor, and Kaga Kusha, Megami Saikou's suitor, are the only known ones currently in the game. Other suitors for specific rivals are presently unknown. However, some students have their crush listed as "?????" which implies that they may be suitors.

Appearance[]

Identifying the suitors should be challenging,^[1] but their appearance will also be unique in some way.^[2]

The 1980s suitors will always be standing on the tree in the square. They will frequently follow the rival and if they are close to her, they will stare at her thoughtfully.

Usage in 202X mode[]

In the game, each rival will have a single crush^[3] other than Senpai. The player will be able to eliminate a rival by pairing her up with her suitor instead.^[4] If the suitor is murdered before Ayano can matchmake them, Ayano cannot pair them up and must use another method to keep the rival away from Senpai. The rival's suitor can be identified if he is found stalking the rival while blushing.

There will always be a reason why the rival develops a crush on her suitor so quickly. Sometimes the reason will be as simple as like the rival's appearance or having similar interests.^[5] Other times, there might be deeper causes.

In order to matchmake the suitor and the rival, Ayano must perform a task for both of them to befriend them. When the suitor is befriended, this unlocks a "Love" option in the interaction wheel. This unlocks the matchmaking menu.

To make the suitor interact with the rival, Ayano needs to purchase a wireless headset and earpiece from the Drops menu, or from the Electronics Store in Buraza Town, to give advice to the suitor while he is interacting with the rival. This item is key to the Matchmaking process. Ayano then needs to use the Court option to tell the rival that someone wants to meet her at the school's east fountain. Ayano also must tell the suitor that the rival is waiting for him at the fountain and that she will give him advice. Once both the rival and the suitor are at the east fountain, Ayano has to hide behind a nearby tree and give the suitor advice while he talks to his crush.

Ayano has to figure out what features the rival is attracted to (to learn Osana Najimi's traits that she finds attractive you have to listen to her event at 7:15 on monday, to learn Amai Odayaka's you have to check out her Sai-X profile on the Social Media app on your phone), she also needs to learn their likes and dislikes (listen to Osana's conversations with Raibaru Fumetsu on monday starting from 7:45 to 8:15, check out Sai-Press in order to learn Amai's)

Yandere-Chan can "train" the suitor to acquire the traits that attract him to the rival. This can only be done once a day.

The player must take the suitor to the library to increase their intelligence and be able to impress the rival, every time you do this increase a point in intelligence.

The suitor should be taken to the art room on the third floor (not to be confused with the Art Club) to observe the "haunted" painting, each time you do this you increase a point in courage.

The player must take the suitor to the athletic track so that the suitor can train, each time you do this increase a point in strength.

Yandere-Chan can also buy something in Buraza Town's Gift Shop that would make a good gift, such as a necklace, and give it to the suitor; this allows the suitor to give the gift to the rival during the daily matchmaking interaction. The gift must be given to the suitor before the interaction begins.

When the remaining suitors are implemented, some suitors may look like gender-bent versions of the rivals, but others may not.^[6]

Usage in 1989 mode[]

The usage in 1980s mode has similarities and differences, the process is the same: you have to befriend them, learn the traits that rivals find attractive (to learn them, open the rivals' bookbags and read the magazines, they drew hearts near certain things that the boys have) and their likes and dislikes (to learn them, read their diaries). But there are some differences, Headsets didn't exist back in the '80s, so Ryoba has to give the suitors advice before the matchmaking session (go into the interaction wheel, enter the love option and the left one is the one you need to use for giving advice) and after the matchmaking session the player will see the results.

Test Suitors[]

Kokona Haruka's Suitor[]

Riku Soma was the suitor of Kokona Haruka. The player could matchmake Kokona with Riku since the September 22nd, 2016 Build until the Demo, because Osana Najimi got fully implemented.

Osana Najimi's Suitor[]

Kyuji Konagawa is the suitor of Osana Najimi. The player can matchmake Osana with Kyuji.

To fit in Osana's taste, Kyuji will have a tan, tie his hair up into a ponytail, wear glasses, and have a lip piercing.

Amai Odayaka's Suitor[]

Shoku Tsuburaya is the suitor of Amai Odayaka. The player can matchmake Amai with Shoku.
