Small Characters are characters appearing or mentioned in Yandere Simulator who do not have enough known information to have their own page, but may still be relevant.
This can also apply to scrapped characters.
Minor NPCs[]
School Kittens[]
- Main article: Akademi
The School Kittens are two of four animals featured in the game, along with Tatoro and Kika.
The kitten is located outside, against the west wall of the main building, near the Delinquents. In 202X, the kitten has grey and white fur with light brown eyes. In 1980s Mode, the cat has calico fur with spots of orange, black and white, with heterochromatic eyes that showcases the light blue and amber eyes.
The kitten serves three purposes: Complete Riku Soma's task by showing him a picture of the kitten, The protagonist can also know the interests of the students by asking them to follow her and passing by the kitten. If Ayano sends a photo of the kitten to Info-chan, she will say she doesn't care. The kitten's head was always turning the face to the protagonist, to the point of reaching a physically impossible angle.
To complete Sumiko Tachibana's task in 1980s mode, which involves chasing a black cat residing behind the Headmaster's Statue, Ryoba has to chase and catch the cat, and bring them to Sumiko. The black cat that Ryoba has to chase in 1980s Mode can strangely be concealed in her Bookbag
If Kaguya Wakaizumi was peacefully eliminated and still attends Akademi, she will pet the kitten during the time she would originally spend with Jokichi Yudasei.
Kika (Osana's Cat)[]
- Main article: Osana Najimi
Kika[1] is the pet cat of Osana Najimi.
Osana cares deeply about her[1]. Ayano can save Kika from the stalker to either befriend or betray Osana.
In Sutemi's description on the offical website, Kika was stolen by Sutemi when he saw her through a window, which gave him an idea to steal Osana's cat in order to blackmail her to coming to his home. In his illustration, Kika appears distressed, as Sutemi holds her by her pink polka-dot bow, which shows him suffocating her.
Kika and the cat behind the school grounds share the same exact model, only with their fur being different colors.
Tatoko (Female Turtle)[]
- Main article: Tatoro
Tatoko is a pink female turtle in Light Music Club.
She only appears in the tank after praying to Tatoro 10 times, and only if the Debug Commands are turned on.
Alpaca[]
The Alpaca is one of the animals in the Akademi, located in the Light Music Club.
Unlike other animals, the Alpaca is rather a toy.
It is seen next to the water tank in 202X Mode, and on the table in 1980s Mode. It's purpose is to switch between the victims that Tatoro can spawn.
Mysterious Blue Haired Woman in Buraza Town[]
- Main article: Buraza Town
The Blue Haired Woman is seen in Buraza Town as an adult in 202X Mode, and a child in 1980s Mode.
The protagonist can see her every time they go to a town, and she cannot be interacted with. While she appears as a child in 1980's Mode, she is an adult in 202X. YandereDev says that the mysterious blue hair woman in Buraza Town has a story, but would like to keep it a secret "for now".[2] She will play a small role in the lore.[3]
She isn't related to Ritsuko Chikanari.[4]
The Hairdresser[]
- Main article: Buraza Town
The Hairdresser played a small role in 202X Mode and a supporting role in 1980s Mode.
When Ryoba shops in the town, she can talk to the hairdresser in the hair salon. Once the hairdresser finds out that Ryoba was also a murderer, she suggests they swap tips. Those tips will appear in Ryoba's notebook.
Canonically, Ryoba did at least meet the hairdresser, as she knows Ayano and and asks about her mother when she goes to the salon in 202X Mode.
According to YandereDev, the hairdresser committed a total of 10 murders. She isn't a hired killer, vigilante, or yandere. She did it for fun, as she enjoyed the thrill and experience of getting away with murder.[5]
Outside of walls surrounding Dark Delights Bakery, she can be seen in a poster promoting a sale.
YandereDev imagines that she was mostly active exclusively in the 80s.[6] He also mentions that she can spot someone who is a serial killer. She has an "aura" that a few killers have to detect one of their own, and she knows that Ayano herself could become a potential murderer.[7]
Mrs. Najimi[]
- Main article: Osana Najimi
Mrs. Najimi is the mother of Osana Najimi.
YandereDev doesn't imagine her mother to be a tsundere.[8]
Her voice and shadow during Osana's suicide cutscene. If the player uses PoseMod's "fly with camera" feature and moves the camera out of Osana's room, it can be seen that Mrs. Najimi is reusing Mrs. Okada's model. Since October 10, 2021 build, every rival's mother (including Beika Odayaka despite Beika having her own model) reuse this appearance.
Drug addicts and Homeless People[]
- Main article: Karlheinz Asylum
They are the main obstacles during 1980s Mode's Befriending/Betrayal elimination methods. They started to wander in the asylum, due to seeing it as an shelter.
Rainey[]
- Main article: Easter Eggs
Rainey is an Easter Egg student who will appear in the Martial Arts Club.
She appears if the player types "rainey" on their keyboard. She cannot be interacted with and simply sways side-to-side just behind where Budo Masuta stands.
Rainey has long, brown hair in a single braid down her back, as well as brown eyes. Regardless of customization, she wears the default school uniform, along with black loafers and white thigh-high stockings.
Only Mentioned[]
The following characters do not have an official appearance in the game yet.
Inkyu's father[]
- Main article: Inkyu Basu
He was the father of Inkyu Basu. He was a vampire.
After Inkyu's mother disappeared in 1797, she looked to her father for guidance and protection and they had a good relationship[9]. However she only had the chance to spend about three years with her father before he was killed by monster hunters.
Mrs. Harukawa[]
- Main article: Mr. Harukawa
She is the deceased wife of Mr. Harukawa and mother of Kokona Haruka.
After her death, her family lost lots of money. Due to that, her husband went into debt to pay for Kokona's tuition fees.
Mrs. Rokuda[]
- Main article: Mr. Rokuda
She is the deceased mother of Musume Ronshaku and Mr. Rokuda's wife.
Mrs. Rokuda is the deceased mother of Musume. Tragically, she passed away when Musume was still very young, leaving her daughter without any memories of her.[10] Despite living during a time when tattoos were heavily stigmatized and often associated with organized crime or the yakuza, Mrs. Rokuda made the bold decision to get a large, prominent tattoo on her leg. Her choice reflected her strong belief in self-expression, prioritizing personal values over societal norms and taboos.[11]
In her artwork, she wears a bag inspired by a pre-existing Louis Vuitton bag.[12]
Sakyu's father[]
- Main article: Sakyu Basu
He was the father of Sakyu Basu. He was an incubus.
After Sakyu's mother disappeared in 1797, when she was 10 years old, she looked to her father for guidance and protection and they had a good relationship[13]. However she only had the chance to spend about 3 years with her father before he was killed by monster hunters.
Takahashi[]
They were a student in Akademi during Ichiko Saikou's attending.
Takahashi had dark circles around their eyes, so Ichiko gave them a nickname "Ra-kun". They were only mentioned in an discord message explaining the tradition at Akademi for giving people nicknames that abbreviated versions of their names or Japanese pronunciation of English words that describe them.
The Journalist's Wife[]
- Main article: The Journalist
She is the deceased wife of The Journalist. It is unknown who she is, however, it is known that she died during childbirth.
Based on 6th mysterious tape, the Journalist first met his wife at a bar. But unlike most of other people, she was unaware of him, which surprised the Journalist. She seemed to be very caring, when it was mentioned that she took him home, cleaned his house, and left him a note saying that she was worried for him and wanted to see him again. From there, they kept meeting up and their relationship eventually began. The Journalist didn't understand what his wife saw in him. As soon as they met, she wanted to spend every waking moment with him, wouldn't let him out of her sight, and got possessive if another woman so much as looked at him. The Journalist quickly also began to depend on her for everything and it wasn't long before he couldn't live without her wife.
The Journalist thinks the fact he was like an "adult-sized baby" — helpless and vulnerable, was what attracted his wife to him, and she just wanted to experience the sensation of owning a person, to keep a "human pet", and someone who she could emotionally depend on. But despite of all his flaws, the Journalist accepted his wife. She wanted to marry him very quickly, about a month after meeting each other, but it wasn't until about six months when the Journalist accepted her proposal.
The Journalist's wife will be mentioned at one point, but she will only be mentioned towards "the end of the story."[14] The Journalist may have taken his wife's surname, to escape his past.[15]
The Journalist's Daughter[]
- Main article: The Journalist
The journalist's daughter is an unknown character who appears during the credits in the 1980s mode. She was born in the same year as Ayano Aishi and one year after Ayano's Cousin.
Her father spends no time with her and knows nothing about her. She spends a lot of time on the computer, earns a lot of money, and sometimes comes home covered in blood.
Despite the fanbase theorizing that the Journalist's daughter is Info-chan, going as far as to say that she is his daughter, YandereDev confirmed that it's just speculation.[16]
Satoko Odayaka[]
- Main article: Amai Odayaka
Satoko is the older sister of Amai Odayaka and first daughter of Beika Odayaka.[17]
Amai is known for being the "sweet and gentle" sibling, while Satoko is described as more energetic and playful. Despite their contrasting personalities, they share a very positive relationship with each other.
In one of Amai's Sai-Press posts, she reveals that she has an older sister whom she loves deeply. This makes Amai the youngest child in the Odayaka family.[18] Satoko's playful and lively nature complements her younger sister's gentle demeanor, and the two sisters are shown to have a strong bond.
Shefu Odayaka[]
- Main article: Beika Odayaka
Shefu Odayaka[19] is the husband of Beika Odayaka, and the father of two girls, Satoko and Amai.
According to Beika's page, the origins of the Odayaka surname comes from Shefu. He is also described by YandereDev as friendly and genuinely wholesome, regardless in public or in private. After they got married, the Odayaka bakery was started mainly because of Shefu and Beika's love for baking.
Ryoba's Sister[]
- Main article: Aishi Family
Ryoba's Sister, who has yet to be provided a name, is the younger sister of Ryoba Aishi, the daughter of Dozuki Aishi, the aunt of Ayano Aishi, and the mother of her unnamed daughter, Ayano's cousin.
Not much is known about Ryoba's sister, but according to Ryoba and Dozuki's pages, Ryoba holds deep affection for her sister. When the latter was born, Ryoba did not want to burden their grandmother with raising another child. This was because of Dozuki's neglectful tendencies to focus on her own life instead of raising her children. Ryoba saw this opportunity to raise her sister just like their grandmother did for herself. Also to surpass their own mom by doing the simple act of caring for a family member.
Although the younger sister was separated from Ryoba (attending another school in Tokyo)[20], Ryoba succeeded in her entrance exam to Akademi because of her willingness to be an excellent role model to her sister. This shows Ryoba's deep sibling love and care for her.
According to the Aishi Family page, the younger sister does not have black hair like her older sister. Her hair color comes from their father, which is pink. YandereDev has yet to confirm the pink hair, however.
According to YandereDev, if he ever decided to make a prequel to Yandere Simulator, he would name it "Yandere Simulator Zero" and have Ryoba's sister as the protagonist of the game. The game would be set in the 1990s.[21] He also mentioned that she killed someone to obtain her Senpai, and that hers and her sister's senpais interacted with each other.[22] Another fact he mentioned was that the sister's personality was similar to Oka Ruto.[23]
YandereDev does not plan to reveal her name at this point in time, but did reveal that she found her Senpai at 18, and murdered some people to obtain him.[24]
Mr. Yamada and Mrs. Yamada[]
- Main articles: Taro Yamada, Hanako Yamada
Mr. and Mrs. Yamada are the parents of Taro and Hanako.
They look very ordinary. Mr. Yamada looks like an older version of Taro, and Mrs. Yamada looks as plain as Taro does.[25] If they suspected Taro was in danger, they would move towns for him.[26]
If they learned about Taro being in relationship with Ayano, they'd be happy for him.[27]
Info-chan's Parents[]
- Main article: Info-chan
The player may possibly see one of Info-chan's parents.[28] However, Info-chan's parents have no idea what she's doing.[29]
Info-chan's mother was possibly also "Info-chan" in her teenage years, but YandereDev said it's hard to answer that without spoilers.[30]
Unknown Merchant[]
The Merchant was most likely The Aishi Precursor's ally. She's seen in the Origin Dream. Her appearance closely resembles Info-chan, having spiky, neck-length red hair with a small ahoge on top, red eyes and a pair of red glasses.
In Yanvania: Senpai of the Night one of the characters is based on her, despite appearing on the Yanvania's title screen she's not shown in the game itself.
The Aishi Precursor's Senpai[]
He reuses Taro Yamada and Student-kun's original appearances. He's seen in Origin and Outlander Dreams and was a victim of Mrs. Basu for an unknown reason. Later, he's rescued by The Aishi Precursor which defeats the demon and tangles her body into Confession Tree's roots, with Heartrender wedged inside of her chest.
In Yanvania: Senpai of the Night one of the characters is based on him, despite appearing on the Yanvania's title screen he's only mentioned in the game itself.
Testing characters[]
The following characters were used exclusively for testing purposes during very early stages of the development.
Student-chan[]
- Main article: Students
Student-chan was used as a placeholder character. She is used to show certain features.
Even though Student-chan all had different names and personalities, they all reacted the same to the murder. They began to fear Ayano after seeing her covered in blood or with a weapon in the game prototype shared by YandereDev in the Gameplay Test and Guitar Case Test on December 6, 2019. When Student-chan saw Ayano killing them, they started doing a running animation, but they didn't move anywhere. And in the School Test, Student-chan's ran away from school. Their later incarnations were shown with "rainbow 6" colored eyes and hair.
In the October 21st, 2024 Build, she returned to showcase a pair of scarves for some students in 1980s Mode that offers a scarf task.
Sumire Saito[]
- Main article: Rivals
Sumire Saito only appeared in the game's prototype and very old YandereDev videos, fairly old versions of Yandere Simulator.
Sumire, better known as "Goldie-chan", is a test rival of Yandere Simulator Prototype. She hasn't appeared in the game ever since. She looked the same as Ayano Aishi, except that she had different stockings, and her hair and eyes were yellow.
Student-kun[]
- Main articles: Students, Taro Yamada
Student-kun was a placeholder for Taro Yamada in Yandere Simulator Prototype and in very old YandereDev videos.
Student-kun's only appearance was in the 2014 prototype and in Yandere Clicker from before March 8th, 2017 Build. Oddly enough, when the prototype was shared in 2019, Student-Kun's hair color was the same as Taro's. He hasn't appeared in the game ever since.
In the October 21st, 2024 Build, he returned to showcase a pair of scarves for some students in 1980s Mode that offers a scarf task.
Old Gardening Club Members[]
- Main article: Gardening Club
The old gardening club members were placeholders for Himari Fujita, Sakura Hagiwara, Sumire Suzuki and Tsubaki Uesugi.
- Blue Flower is the placeholder for Himari Fujita, initially referred to as Himari Loutus, but YandereDev ultimately used only her first name for the final version.
- Pink Flower is the placeholder for Sakura Hagiwara, initially referred to as Ivy Raysu. YandereDev did not adopt the model name for Sakura's final name.
- Green Flower is the placeholder for Sumire Suzuki, initially referred to as Jitsumi Tsubakai. YandereDev did not adopt the model name for Sumire's final name.
- White Flower is the placeholder for Tsubaki Uesugi, initially referred to as Fia Kaivy. YandereDev did not adopt the model name for Tsubaki's final name.
- Red Flower model was scrapped, as every club can only have 5 members in total, excluding the rivals. She was referred to as Aisha Aiven.
Nurse-chan[]
Nurse-chan was used as a placeholder nurse. She was used to fill the place of Nasu.
Similarly to other early placeholder characters, Nurse-Chan was a re-colored Ayano, this time in pink. She also used an early nurse attire. At some point, her design was changed to the one that Muja Kina uses, along with infirmary keys being added later on. Lastly, she got Nasu Kankoshi's design and her original one was used for Juri Nagasawa, but was turned in Muja's character draft made by Aea.
Rival-chan's suitor[]
Rival-chan's suitor was used as the suitor for the Matchmaking artworks.
The suitor's only appearances were in the original matchmaking illustration before he was replaced by Kyuji Konagawa, and in the video "Matchmaking is Coming Soon", however in the final artwork featured on the official website, he was replaced with Riku Soma. In both of these, he has a slightly different appearance, these being the haircut and its color.
Serialization/Deserialization-chan[]
She is only seen Yandere Simulator January 2019 Progress Report video. Her purpose was just to represent a student.
She is allegedly a volunteer's Original Character.
Scrapped Characters[]
Alibi-chan[]
Ayano was originally going to have a partner in crime who would assist her with murder by providing an alibi. This character would be named "Alibi-chan" and a design and some depictions of interaction between both girls were created. This character had blue hair and a similar appearance to Info-chan. YandereDev liked this idea, as she was an "inversion" of Info-Chan, with similar appearances, and similar intentions.[31]
This idea was eventually scrapped, as it was not only complex, but also made Ayano less independent. The person who proposed this idea could also suddenly "complain about it at some point in the future if they ever change their mind about letting me use their OC" according to YandereDev.[32]
"Gloomy" Rival[]
It was confirmed that 11 rivals (excluding Sumire Saitozaki) were originally planned for the 1980s Mode. However, one of the rival's concepts, codenamed "Gloomy," was eventually rejected.[33] Her personality would have been shy, gloomy, and asocial.
During her week, it would be raining, and a thunderstorm would take place. An aspiring meteorologist, she would have spent most of her time outdoors to study the thunderstorm and gather data during the rain. Her canon elimination would have been getting electrocuted by her equipment.
Since Ai Doruyashi shares the same canonical elimination with her, it is most likely that she would have been the sixth rival in 1980s Mode before being replaced by Ai.
Kohaku Otori[]
Also known as Unity-chan, is a character used for testing purposes that was created by Unity Technologies. YandereDev said that he wanted to implement her into the game, but unfortunately her creators didn't want to show her out of her dignity.
Trivia[]
- Kika (spelled 姫華) is a female Japanese surname. 姫 means “princess” or “noblewoman,” and 華 translates to “flower,” “splendor,” or “brilliance.”[34]
- Takoto is not a Japanese name. Rather, it is likely Tataro’s name with a few letters swapped.

- YandereDev initially planned the possibility of killing the cat and burying it right over a corpse to fool police dogs with its scent. This feature was eventually canceled.
- Like the early versions of Rainbow Six, Sumire Saito references Sumire Saitou, a character from K-ON!
- Student-chan Models can be purchased from the Asset Shop under the name "Aoi Kiryu".
