It is not to be confused with the Biology Lab or Science Club.

The Science Lab is a room in Akademi where the protagonist can acquire and craft chemicals into poisons.

Appearance[]

This room is located on the second floor in the eastern wing. The Science Lab has a beige hardwood floor. There are six grey tables with two chairs each, and a lectern at the front of the classroom. Chemistry cabinets line the walls. There is a chalkboard at the front of the class and opaque windows on either side of the room.[1]

As of the April 7th, 2021 Build, its appearance has been updated; all of the props inside of the Science Lab have been replaced, making it look unique, instead of looking like any other classroom.

Usage[]

In 202X Kuroko Kamenaga patrols this room. In 1989, Reiichi Tanaami patrols this room. They patrol the area at 7:14 AM, 7:53 AM, 1:07 PM, and 3:45 PM.

Every time that the protagonist ranks up in chemistry using Study Points, she can create various poisons with different substances found in the school (most are found in the lab, while others are found elsewhere).

As of the April 15th, 2021 Build, the science lab contains a shower. If the protagonist is bloody and holding a clean uniform, she will wash off the blood and automatically change into the clean clothes.[2]

As of the April 15th, 2022 Build, the protagonist can find a portable bunsen burner to set fire to students. It works the same as a candle, but it is an alternative in case the if Occult Club has closed and she loses access to candle.[3]

As of the April 1st, 2023 Build, If the Science Club is disbanded, the former members will go in here and socialize.

In the future, the protagonist may be able to put corpses into a barrel and dissolve them with acid from the Science Lab.[4] the protagonist may also be able to construct chemical weapons[5]. However, YandereDev has spent no time planning or thinking about chemical weapons in the game. As such, this may change in the future.

In 202X Mode, Kuroko Kamenaga patrols this room. In 1980s Mode, it is Reiichi Tanaami who instead patrols this room.

Trivia[]

  • The lab was updated in the November 15th, 2015 Build with a smoother texture.
  • This room was originally called the "Chemistry Lab". It was later changed for unknown reasons.
  • Currently, there is no teacher located in the Science Lab. If the protagonist visits the room during class hours, she will be considered an intruder. However, since there is no teacher to reprimand her, she may stay in the room indefinitely. In the final game, one of the current teachers will teach that class.[6]
  • If the protagonist steals poison but does not use it, it will respawn back into the Science Lab the next day. If used, the poison will not respawn, unless the week is reset.
  • Canonically, Sumiko Tachibana was lethally poisoned by a poison bottle found in this room, by Ryoba Aishi.[7]
