A group silhouette of Saikou family members born into the lineage.
The Saikou Family is a major characteristic family in Yandere Simulator.
Overview[]
The Saikou family owns Saikou Corp, which was founded and opened in 1946,[1] and Akademi, which was founded around 1985 and opened in April 1986.[2]
Their family name, "Saikou" (最高), means "highest", "best", "maximum", and "superior".
While the Saikou family in modern times is an extremely powerful and influential family, before the birth of Saisho, they were a completely unremarkable family and had no significant history prior to Saisho's expansion.[3]

?? (1980s Mode) | ?? (202X Mode) | Shattered across time and space
Fun Girl is Ichiko Saikou's twin sister and Ichirou Saikou's older sister originating from another timeline.
In her timeline, Saisho Saikou decided to get rid of her as she was trying to expose him for being a twisted man. He created a machine that could dismiss the rules of time and space, and erase anything that steps within it. Saisho had everything planned: he held a show in front of an audience, and told Fun Girl to step in that machine. She didn't know what this machine could do, but she thought she was safe, since there was a crowd watching, however, right after she stepped in, she got erased from existence, along with the machine
The timeline when Yandere SImulator takes place's main difference is that Saisho never invented this machine, and that she has been erased from existence, she doesn't exist in that timeline either, because the machine that erased her cannot be re-created.
However, she's able to communicate to Ichiko through dreams and as a voice in her head, possibly because they are twins.
19 (1980s Mode) | 56 (202X Mode) | Alive
Ichiko Saikou is the aunt of Megami Saikou and Kencho Saikou, and the sister of Ichirou Saikou. She's the oldest child of Saisho Saikou, but got disowned by him.
She was the heiress of Saikou Corp, however, she never wanted the role, and instead wanted to search for a voice from someone claiming to be her twin sister. She left Japan shortly after graduating from Akademi, leaving her father furious at the resources he had wasted on her. Fun Girl tried multiple times to stop her, because she's basically searching for something that doesn't exist, but Ichiko won't listen.
She's the reason why Akademi was built in the first place. At her time there, she was the president of the Student Council and started the tradition of nicknames.[8]
61 (1980s Mode) | 98 (202X Mode) | Deceased
Saisho Saikou is the father of Ichirou Saikou and Ichiko Saikou before he disowned her. He's also the grandfather of Megami Saikou and Kencho Saikou.

62 (1980s Mode) | 99 (202X Mode) | Alive
Hisho Saikou is the mother of Ichirou Saikou and Ichiko Saikou before Saisho disowned her. She's also the grandmother of Megami Saikou and Kencho Saikou.
She worked as Saisho's secretary for many years, before becoming his wife. Over the years, she was gradually trusted with more and more responsibilities until she was not just Saisho's secretary, but also performed roughly the same role as Chief Human Resources Officer. Currently, she's known as The "Executive Fellow and Representative Director".
According to YandereDev, Hisho liked their daughter better than their son.[9] She also felt disappointed when Ichiko left.[10]
Trivia[]
- According to Headmaster Tape #2, Saisho Saikou potentially has a second daughter, which is Fun Girl.
- YandereDev imagines that all of the members of the Saikou family before Saisho are irrelevant.[11]
- The Saikou family has a pet tiger that is named "Byakko."[12]
- The tiger serves two purposes: prestige, a bodyguard and it was a result of of a genetic engineering experiment.[13]
- Marriages in the Saikou family purely for connivence and attempts at eugenics.[14] Some basic compatibility is required for the marriage to work out and be successful,[14] although there have been no instances of cheating.[15]
- In addition to this, they cannot pick their own spouses. The current patriarch of the family decides which person marries into the family.[16]
- The skill of charisma is taught to Saikou family members because it is needed for leadership.[14]
- People marrying into the Saikou family are expected to "have some degree of charisma".[14]
- Megami's Week will present the opportunity to the player to learn more lore concerning the Saikou backstory.
- It wouldn't share every mystery or detail.[17]
- Sometimes, the Saikou family experiences "Ichiko Syndrome," but they never comment on it.[18]
- The indoctrination of these views was applied to the Saikou children as soon as they were old enough that they could understand a few words.[19]
- The Saikou family holds classist views, and even instructs their offspring to avoid revealing them. Megami knows and keeps them a secret, since it would foster some problems for her family. However, her brother does not do a good job of hiding these secrets, despite holding them himself. Learning about whether Megami holds these views or not will be revealed in her week.[20]
- One of their views is that people who seek therapy are weak.[21]
- YandereDev confirmed that the Saikou Family operates similarly to a cult. Five examples include a flawless, charismatic leader portrayed as an authoritative figure who cannot be questioned (being Saisho Saikou), strict obedience being demanded, controlling the information on what people learn about them, thinking they are superiour and above the average human, and "programmed" to withhold specific, unquestioned beliefs.[22]
- The lives of Saikou family members are often scripted, as they do good deeds (such as buying a homeless person food) in order to get good public relations. This even goes as far as to often do good for other people, similar to if their actions were broadcasted live on TV.[23]
