Pickpocketing is a type of quick time event.
Gameplay[]
In order to pickpocket someone, the protagonist must stand behind the target. When they stop walking, a timer will show the player how long they have left before the target starts moving again.
This mechanic utilizes QTE, which stands for "quick time event". A series of button prompts including Q, E, F and R will appear on the screen for a few seconds, and the player has to react on time. If the player presses the wrong button, runs out of time, or another NPC notices the attempt, the protagonist will be caught. Depending on the circumstances, it can damage her reputation by 10 points, cause her to be sent to the guidance counselor or a Game Over.
Currently, the protagonist can pickpocket the Gardening Club leaders and the security guards at Dark Delights Bakery.
Trivia[]
- Pickpocketing was implemented in the January 3rd, 2017 Build.
- Ayano used to be able to pickpocket Nasu Kankoshi to open a cabinet in the infirmary. However, the procedure to open the cabinet has changed.
- In earlier versions of the game, it was possible to pickpocket the school nurse to steal a tranquilizer. This mechanic was later removed, and currently the protagonist has to poison a student with a headache-incuding poison and steal the tranquilizer while the nurse isn't looking.
- At school, the protagonist can craft a lockpick as an alternative.
