The Occult Club is a club in Akademi.
Appearance[]
The floor is made out of purple-tinted wood panels with some dark purple checkerboard, and the walls are purple as well (with wood wall moldings). On the floor is a large purple rug decorated with an inverted pentacle and ten candles around it. There are five inverted pentacle posters on the walls. One of the inverted pentacles hangs above the altar in the back of the room. The altar holds a skull, a ritual knife, and six goblets. The windows are covered with thick curtains. The club has several bookshelves and high-backed purple armchairs where club members will sit and read the Necronomicon.[1] There will be more pages in the books when more features are added to the Occult Club.[2] The club has two large wooden tables that reside left and right of the altar, whereas a candle can be found on the left table.
Gameplay[]
Early development of the ritual.
If the protagonist joins this club, her sanity will decrease 50% of the normal rate. Most students at Akademi consider the members of the Occult Club to be very strange, but harmless, so it will take longer for them to notice her suspicious activities.[3] After joining, she can wear the black robe that is near the skull. If Easter Eggs were activated, the protagonist could perform a Demonic Ritual to gain certain supernatural abilities.
The protagonist will be kicked out if another member of the club witnesses her committing murder on the previous day. She will also be kicked out if she does not participate in club activities at least once a week. If the leader dies or if there are less than five members in the club, the club will disband. Once the club closes, the door to the room will be locked, but the protagonist can use a lockpick to open the door. She can also request permission to leave, but once she leaves, she can never join again.
Club Schedule[]
The members of this club gather in the club room at 7:15 AM. Then they will walk around the school, searching five of the Seven Mysteries of Akademi, a series of urban legends connected to the school.
They eat their lunch near the clubroom at 1:00 PM.
At 4:00 PM, they gather at the clubroom again before again searching five of the Seven Mysteries.
Failing to summon a demon.
At 5:00 PM, the Club Leader will come back to the clubroom and start reading a book on the middle armchair. If Ayano joins club activities from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, they will try to perform rituals like the "Sachiko Ever After" ritual from Corpse Party,[4] though they cannot accomplish anything.

Trivia[]
- According to Druelbozo, YandereDev specifically requested that he make all students in this club look similar to Oka Ruto.[5]
- There may be an event in the future where a member can interact with Sumire Saitozaki.[6]
- Additionally, one of Oka Ruto's eliminations will might involve her.
- The hands rising out of the ground are a reference to Dead Hand from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.[7]
- If the Easter Eggs were activated and the player examines the Cheese Storage Room, the skull on the table will gain a blue eye. The eye will stop glowing the next day. This is a reference to the indie video game Undertale.[8]
- If the player presses Left Control in the debug menu, the day will skip to 4:55 PM, and the player will be teleported to the Occult Club with Oka Ruto if she is on campus.
- There used to be a debug command D that would spawn many severed arms inside the Occult Room. Pressing it twice would activate the Pain's ritual. It was exclusive to the first version of the February 21st, 2016 Build.
- There is a rumor at school that Oka asked each of her club members to pluck out one of their own eyes so that she could perform a demon-summoning ritual that requires a sacrifice of 5 eyes. However, these rumors have never been confirmed. The reason they cover their eyes will be revealed during week 4, Oka's week.[9]
- The Occult Club does not have a specific religion or any religious beliefs. They simply believe that there are supernatural beings out there and their goal is to prove that these beings exist or to contact them.[10]
- There have been only two Occult Clubs throughout the school's history: there was a short-lived one that existed for only one season in 1989, and then another one that was created in 2026 by Oka Ruto.[11] The Occult club was shut down in 1990 because no other student was interested besides the ones in 1989.[12]
- When opening the occult club, Oka had to submit the request to the faculty. The faculty didn't know what to say, so they asked Kocho Shuyona and Genka Kunahito to make the call. Genka was against it, but Kocho was okay with it: "Ghosts and demons don't exist, so what's the problem? It's not like they will actually summon an evil spirit or anything like that. It's weird, but it's not dangerous or unhealthy. They'll probably grow out of it in a few years, anyway."[13]
- The start of the Occult Club was founded by the woman in the 1980s hallway poster.[12]
- If the Occult Club disbanded, some of the club members would choose either the Gaming Club, Photography Club, or the Art Club.[14]
- One of the 1989 Occult Club members became a monster hunter,[15] it is not clear as to who this member is.
- If Ayano Aishi picked a club to join, she'd join this club.[16]
- The club accessories in this club is a choker in 202X Mode, while it's little charms with superstition attached to it in 1980s Mode.
- The Occult Club are seen as a bunch of weirdos, but they are quite easy to overlook and ignore them, so no feud is currently present with them.[17]
