Nagaharu Kurudo

Nagaharu Kurudo (a.k.a Study-Kun A) is one of the male students who attended Akademi in 1980s Mode. He was the President of the Art Club.

Nagaharu has slicked back blonde hair and cyan eyes. Curiously, he has a different version of the slicked back hair as opposed to his original hairstyle prior to 1980s Mode.

He wears the default 1980s uniform with a blue scarf, and since he is the President of the Art Club, he wears the "Red Armband of Leadership" with a resemblance of a paintbrush on his left arm.

Before the May 2nd 2024 build, he had short, auburn hair in a bowl cut with bangs that reached his eyes and covered most of his eyebrows and his eyes were green

Before the October 21st, 2024 build, his hair was dark grey and his eyes were black.

Among the Personas that are currently implemented in the game, Nagaharu is a Snitch. If he sees a corpse or witnesses a murder, he will run to the landline phone in the Faculty Room and call the Police. He cannot participate in physical fights against murderers.

Gameplay[]

Originally, along with Raizo Morioka, Nagaharu existed for the purpose of testing the matchmaking elimination method. He was intended to mimic the conditions that will be present in the final game, in which there would be enough students at school for the player to reliably determine what their rival is attracted to.

He was implemented in the September 22nd, 2016 Build along with Raizo.

If the player got Kokona Haruka to follow them around the school and brought her past Nagaharu, she would look at him and blush, showing that she was attracted to a trait he possessed. Through the process of elimination, the player can discover that the trait Kokona is attracted to is slicked-back hair.

The player was unable to interact with him, and Info-chan didn't recognize pictures of his face.

In the January 1st, 2019 Build, Nagaharu, along with Raizo, were removed from the game, but both later returned in 1980s Mode.

Routine[]

At 7:00 AM, Nagaharu enters the school grounds with the other Art Club members. He walks to his locker at 7:05 AM and changes from his outdoor shoes to his indoor shoes. At 7:15 AM, he walks to the Art Club on the Second Floor and paints by himself.

At 8:00 AM, he walks to Classroom 3-2 and sits at his desk. He starts his morning classes at 8:30 AM and leaves to eat his lunch outside the Art Club at 1:00 PM.

He walks back to class at 1:30 PM and participates in cleaning time between 3:30 PM and 4:00 PM. Afterward, he heads to the Art Club and stays there until the end of the day. On Friday afternoons, he and the other Art Club members gather behind the cherry tree to paint it.

If the Art Club is disbanded, he will sketch at the west-side fountain.

YandereDev imagines that after they graduated, Nagaharu and Raizo fell in love and started a relationship.^[2]

He was originally implemented in the September 22nd, 2016 build of the game to test the matchmaking feature.
His name, Nagaharu, means "long, leader" (naga, 長) and "at peace, heal" (haru, 治)
- His surname, Kurudo, means "long time" (ku, 久), "fasten, halt" (ru, 留), and "lord, master" (do, 主).
He and Joze Shiuba are the only characters who can speak a different language other than English in the game. In Nagaharu's case, he sprinkles French words throughout his dialogue.
His original hairstyle can still be accessed via JSON or Pose Mode.
- Both of his current and original hairstyles can be worn by Senpai in the customization.
Nagaharu was given Hozumi Takeda’s appearance and identity in the 1980's Revamp update.
YandereDev imagines that he and Raizo fell in love and started a relationship. He had this thought since they were first added to the game.^[2]
- YandereDev gave a nod to their relationship with their matching scarves as seen in game.
Nagaharu is one of three confirmed LGBTQ+ characters in the game; the other two are Akari Komiyaku, and Raizo Morioka.
