Mrs. Basu is the mother of Sakyu and Inkyu, and the someone they are looking for in Akademi.
The character Dracula-chan from video game Yanvania: Senpai of the Night is inspired by her.
Appearance[]
In Dreams while fighting The Aishi Precursor, Mrs. Basu looks like a ghostly grey version of Dracula-chan, although her exact appearance is not clear.
In 202X story mode, She has purple dark hair in a ponytail and has sunken in skin and no eyes, making her look like a rotten corpse.
Background[]
According to YandereDev, Mrs. Basu was considered to be "the most powerful demon to ever live".[1]
According to Inkyu, she was last seen by herself and Sakyu in 1796.[2] In dreams, Mrs. Basu seizes a man by force for an unknown reason. Later, The Aishi Precursor goes to Mrs. Basu to save that man. The two fight with and Mrs. Basu loses.
Her unconscious body is located in the cave under the Confession Tree. She has the Heartrender wedged inside of her chest, where her heart is. She is also most likely responsible for the Aishi condition, as her daughters felt her energy in Ayano.
She realized that monsters would go extinct in 100 or 200 years and embarked on a mission to gain power to turn the tide of the human-monster war in favor of monsters when she vanished.[3]
Routine[]
Throughout the game, unless the player discovers the Heartrender, Mrs. Basu will remain imprisoned in the roots under the Confession Tree.
If Ayano Aishi steals Sakyu's ring and brought it to the tree, it would be enough for the mother to snap out of torpor for a moment, say two words, then fall back into the same state she was in. She also says these only two words telepathically.[4]

Even though her relationship with her daughters is not fully known, Mrs. Basu seems to care about her daughters, and since her daughters want to resurrect her, they also value her.
She was the one who had given her two daughters their names.[5] She gave "that ring" to Sakyu over 220 years ago.
Both girls can feel that their mother is nearby, and will not leave until they find her.[6]
Her Two Husbands[]

Mrs. Basu was married to both an Incubus and a Vampire at the same time, but their exact relationship is unknown.
Trivia[]
- According to YandereDev, he would describe Mrs Basu's state as "torpor". Which is defined of a state of "extreme dormancy and inactivity" that makes her one step away from death. He still refers to her as a corpse because she looks like one, and is inactive like one. In reality, her state is somewhat similar to being asleep.[4]
- YandereDev originally wanted to keep the corpse under the tree as a secret, but decided against it.[7]
