Money is an object and a game mechanic that the player can use to purchase weapons and other useful items in Yandere Simulator.
Not to be confused with the topic of money in "Conversational Topics."
Gameplay[]
The protagonist's current amount of money is displayed in the top-right corner of the screen, below the time HUD.
At the beginning of the game, the protagonist will start with $10.00. Currently, the only ways to earn money are by working in various part-time jobs, reading Ryoba's postcard or purchasing a wad of cash (which is 20 dollars in a wrapped band) from Info-chan for 10 info-points. In the future, the player may also earn money by doing tasks for NPCs or looting corpses.[1]
In 1980s Mode, Ryoba Aishi can kidnap students and trade them for $1,000 to The Yakuza. The amount of money depends on how rich the student is.
The player can use money to purchase sodas and snacks from vending machines for $1.00, and a variety of other items at the Buraza Town's Stores.
Money can be given to students, but a limit of five dollars per student. The player can learn of a student's stance on the topic of money by giving them some.
- If the player gives money to a student with a positive stance on money, they will generously thank the player, and the friendship bar will go higher up, depending on social stats.
- If the player gives money to a student with a neutral stance on money, they will thank the player, and the friendship bar will go up slightly, depending on social stats.
- If the player gives money to a student with a negative stance on money, they will ask the player if they are trying to buy their friendship, thinking that it is weird. The friendship bar will not change.
Ayano can also use money to purchase useful items online, by accessing the computer at night in her room and selecting Nozama. Currently, only Uniforms and Blonde Hair Dye can be purchased, but a variety of items that cannot be found anywhere else may be added in the future.
Money can be used to complete Umeji Kizuguchi's task by giving him $100, in which his task is one of the requirements for joining the Delinquents. It can also complete Ritsuko Chikanari's task by giving $1,000 to friend her.
Trivia[]
- Money was implemented in the August 1st, 2019 Build.
- Since the game's default language is English and the majority of fans are from the United States, money in Yandere Simulator is represented as dollars ($), in order for easier understanding without the need of converting it. Another reason for this may be that Yen (¥) may increase or decrease during the years in comparison to dollars.
- The physical appearance (and icon) for the wad of cash has Saisho Saikou as the face of each bill.
- According to YandereDev, Info-chan has more than $200 worth of cash on her, and has other ways to get cash quicker.[2]
