Introduction[]
In the cutscene after the elimination of the first rival, Moeko's silhouette is shown as Ryoba mentions that someone is in love with Jokichi.
After eliminating that girl, I thought that my Senpai would be safe...
...but now, I have a new problem to deal with.
Another girl is showing interest in him.
A cute tomboy with a gung-ho attitude.
Boys like that sort of girl, don't they?
If he keeps spending time around her...
...she might steal his heart.
I can't let that happen.
Now that I think about it, I heard a nasty rumor about her.
Apparently, she has a... "secret hobby."
Something dangerous. Something she could get in big trouble for.
It might be worth it to follow her around school and learn what she's hiding.
Perhaps I can find a way to make her bad habits backfire on her.
You know what they say...
...you play with fire, and you get burned.
Routine[]

Week 2[]
At 7:00 AM, Moeko enters the school grounds. She will walk to her locker and change from her outdoor shoes to her indoor shoes. She will head to Classroom 2-2 to put down her bag and then head to the back of the school to talk with the Rainbow Boys. Later, at 7:20 AM, she will head down behind the boy's locker room to start a fire. When she is interrupted during her hobby, she will pour water on the fire and head back to the Rainbow Boys to continue talking with them. When the coast is clear, she will continue her hobby. Moeko heads back to her classroom at 8:00 AM and sits at her desk. She starts her morning classes at 8:30 AM.

Week 3 and onwards[]
If Moeko survived her week but still attends Akademi, she goes to the back of the male locker room to look around for anyone nearby to make sure no one will see her doing her dangerous hobby before she walks to the barrel to start a fire. At 4:00 PM, she will change her shoes and walk out of school.

Others[]
- Rainbow Boys: In the second week of 1980s Mode, Moeko talks with the Rainbow Boys in the hopes of becoming friends with them. If the player eliminates Moeko without killing her, she will stop hanging out with them on subsequent weeks since she felt awkward trying to force friendship on them.[4][5]
- Family: Her parents are not aware that their daughter plays with fire.[10] They also do not know about her obsession with starting fires.[4][5] Her parents do not approve of her tomboy behavior, but tolerate it.[3] As mentioned in the Monday morning conversation with Jokichi, Moeko has a younger sister. YandereDev describes her sister as active and energetic, although she hasn't had the time to develop into a specific type of person.[11]

- Daisaku Aragaki: A student from Moeko's year that she would get along with the most would be Daisaku.[13]
Canon Elimination[]
The route to Moeko's "Dangerous Hobby"
Moeko's canon elimination is Burning.
- The player can do this elimination in under a school day. The player must obtain a lockpick or join the gardening club.
- If the player has access to the Yakuza, buy a Lockpick.
- If not, go to the Faculty Room and grab paperclips, then get hairpins from the Drama club, and go to the Workshop to craft a Lockpick.
- The player can also pickpocket the Gardening Club leader to obtain access.
- Go to the Gardening Shed and grab the Jerry Can. Grab the can and run behind the Boy's Shower Room and find a trash can with a watering can next to the trash can.
- Fill it with Gasoline and wait for her to start her fire.
- Stand back or away from the trash can so she will start a fire; otherwise, she will avoid the trash can if she sees the player.
Alterative Elimination[]
The player can still achieve the S+ tier ranking if Moeko dies of a fire, regardless of circumstances.
The player can either make a Bucket trap containing Gasoline or a Water Cooler containing Gasoline. The player should position the trap that will have the rival unknowingly walk into. Moeko will walk into the trap and become drenched in Gasoline.
The player must grab a Bunsen Burner from the Science Lab or a Candle from the Occult Club and follow Moeko to the Girl's Shower Room.
The player should run into Moeko with the candle, or they could drop the Bunsen burner, turn it on, pick it up, then run into Moeko with the Bunsen burner.
The player can attend class for the police to come and determine Moeko's death as an accident.
Trivia[]
- Moeko (spelled 萌子 or 萌映子)[14] is a Japanese name with two meanings. The first kanji letters are purely because of her name. 炎 (moe) meaning "flame" combined with 子 (ko) meaning "child".[15]
- Rakuyona is not a proper or real Japanese surname.
- Canonically, Moeko was burned to death by Ryoba Aishi, who took out the water used for putting out fires and replaced it with gasoline. Therefore, Moeko is deceased.

- She and Kaguya were the only two rivals present during orientation day. But Moeko didn't start until Week 2 due to her being absent for an unknown reason.[4][5] YandereDev has yet to provide a reason as to why she was absent.[16]
- YandereDev doesn't know what her occupation would have been if she hadn't been killed in the events of 1980s Mode.[17]
- She is the only 1980s rival who supports violence.
- If she had a voice, she would sound like a tomboy. Similar to that of Ash from Pokémon, but not that extreme.[4][5] Additionally, she'd likely sound like "the original Makoto Kino".[18]
- YandereDev's nickname for Moeko is "Firey".[19]
- Out of all of the 1980s rivals and their intelligence, Moeko is ranked in 10th place.[20] She is not very intelligent.[21]
