LoveSick Mode's logo.
LoveSick Mode is a mode in Yandere Simulator.
This mode is designed to be more serious and dark, in comparison to the main game.
The player is able to choose this mode by pressing the L key 10 times during the calendar screen. To exit the mode, press the L key again.
Differences[]
LoveSick Mode features a few differences from the main game, in order to fit its darker tones. These differences are:
- The game's color scheme is now red and black rather than white and pink.
- Debug Commands cannot be enabled.
- Low Atmosphere is the default atmosphere.
- Aishi House and Buraza Town have darker lighting and slight static overlay.
- Numerous NPC's names which are puns/have a specific meaning were changed. The affected students are:
- Kuu Dere ➜ Kumi Demura.
- Horuda Puresu ➜ Horuda Umetsu.
- Saki Miyu ➜ Saki Mayuzumi.
- Riku Soma ➜ Riku Somatomo.
- Kokona Haruka ➜ Kokona Harukawa.
- The entire Occult Club.
- Shin Higaku ➜ Shin Higaonna.
- Chojo Tekina ➜ Chojo Terajima.
- Daku Atsu ➜ Daku Atsuzawa.
- Supana Churu ➜ Suzuko Chijimatsu.
- Kokuma Jutsu ➜ Kokuma Jikihara.
- The entire Gaming Club (with exception of Ryuto Ippongo)
- Gema Taku ➜ Gema Takagaki.
- Pippi Osu ➜ Pippi Osafune.
- Midori Gurin ➜ Midori Gurinishi.
- Up until the implementation of real names, Mai Waifu was the only student to have their name changed. It was originally Mai Wakabayashi, but it got changed to Mai Wakahara.
- The entire Art Club.

Trivia[]
- This mode was implemented in the September 1st, 2017 Build.
- The title LoveSick is what YandereDev considered changing the name of Yandere Simulator to.[1]
- Originally, this mode was chosen on a separate screen after sponsors. This was changed in the September 2nd, 2017 Build as not to advertise LoveSick Mode as a completely independent game to Yandere Simulator.[2]
- As of some update, LoveSick Mode no longer appears on the main menu, but instead, you activate it by pressing L 10 times on the calendar screen.
- It was deleted in the June 15th, 2023 build but then re-added in the August 1st, 2023 build and was deleted once again in the September 15th, 2023 build.
- It was added again in September 17th, 2023 Build.
