Kyoshi Tachikawa is the physical education teacher at Akademi.

Appearance

Kyoshi has spiky, shoulder-length blonde hair, turquoise blue eyes, and tanned skin.

She wears a red tracksuit with white stripes. A silver whistle hangs around her neck. She uses the "Tsundere" idle animations when guarding the school entrance.

In her illustration, her face appears smaller due to her hair, which appears a tad bit fluffier. Her skin appears a tad bit tan than her in game tan.

Kyoshi Tachikawa is a retired competitive swimmer. From age 15 to age 31, she competed in the Olympics 4 times, winning a total of 23 gold medals. She became internationally famous after winning 8 gold medals in a single year.

Akademi Academy routinely hires world-famous athletes to coach their sports teams, and recently hired Kyoshi as their latest "celebrity coach". Despite being hired for the sake of publicity, Kyoshi is a very competent coach who is serious about her job.

Kyoshi would always rather be outdoors than indoors, and becomes restless if she has to sit still for a long time. She often gets out of her seat to do stretching exercises or simply stroll around the school grounds.

Despite her numerous accomplishments and worldwide fame, Kyoshi is a humble and friendly woman who is very easy to get along with. However, a few people have observed that she is noticeably awkward around one particular student...

Kyoshi is part of Akademi Faculty. She is Friendly but Strict and has extensive self-defense training. She will give Ayano Aishi a suspicious look with a smile if she aims her Phone at her. If she witnesses Ayano commit murder, she will run up and attempt to apprehend her. If she encounters a corpse, she will call the Police and guard the body.

She would rather be outside exercising than cooped up indoors doing paperwork.

Kyoshi is proven determined to stop or prevent violence from occurring, evident in Week 2 when Sakyu and Inkyu Basu have their Tuesday Conversation.

She is also a friendly and lenient teacher, who would give second chances and tolerate the player if they pressed the gate button once. However, she will get upset and send the player to the counselor if the behavior repeats.

The Death Demon Ritual reveals that Kyoshi had a daughter when she was a teenager and gave her up for adoption to focus on her career.

Routine

Before class time, Kyoshi stands guard near the school gate, facing the entrance. At 8:15 AM, she goes to the Faculty Room and paces around the room in a rectangular fashion, stopping at the windows and doors to stretch. At lunchtime, she completes work at her desk with the other teachers, and then continues to stretch after 1:23 PM when the others go back to class. During and after cleaning time, she goes back to standing near the front gate.

According to Sakyu, a group of delinquents from another school are planning to try and beat up one of Akademi's students. Hence, why she's "watching the school entrance like a hawk."

Trivia

• She was implemented in the March 31st, 2016 Build.
  • The day she was implemented, the whistle around her neck caused all female students and teachers to wear a whistle around their necks, as well in their student portraits. This bug was later fixed in the April 3rd, 2016 Build.
• Her previous hip sway animations and tracksuit are borrowed from Bad Time Mode. She now uses the tsundere idle animations, similarly to Osana Najimi.
• Her name is taken from the Japanese taisō kyōshi (体操教師), which translates to "Gymnastics Teacher".
  • Her surname, Tachikawa, means "rising" (tachi, 立) and "river" (kawa, 川).
• Before October 28th, 2021 build, her last name was Tachibana. It was later changed so it wouldn't be identical to the last name of Sumiko Tachibana, fifth rival in 1980s Mode.
• She is responsible for opening and closing the gates before and after school, and maintaining the safety of all of the students, so it is harder to kill students near the front gates.
• Kyoshi is the only faculty member who's conversational topics cannot be obtained by Info-chan but can be obtained through Stokr.
