Kuroko Kamenaga is one of the female students who currently attends Akademi. She is the Vice President of the Student Council and served as President last school year.
Appearance[]
Kuroko has chest-length straight, shiny black hair with bangs and dark gray eyes. Her bust size is 1.25, and she wears a small amount of makeup.[4]
She wears the Student Council uniform alongside the "Red Armband of Leadership" on her left arm, reading 生徒会 (seito kai), meaning Student Council written in kanji, green half-frame glasses with a pearl-lined chain attached, dark gray-maroon pantyhose, and round green earrings that resemble turtle shells.
In her previous "Pool's Closed" illustration for the pool, her eyes were metallic blue.
Before the December 3rd, 2021 Build, her glasses and earrings were black, and she had sheer brown pantyhose.
Personality[]
Kuroko Kamenaga was the school's previous student council president. She was defeated by Megami in the most recent student council election. However, Megami acknowledged that Kuroko was the second-best person for the job, and offered her the role of vice president. Kuroko accepted the offer.
While Megami is absent from school, Kuroko is in charge of Megami's presidential duties. In short, Kuroko fills the role of student council president while Megami is gone. Kuroko is known for being formal at all times, which is reflected in the way she stands, walks and speaks.

Among the Personas currently implemented in the game, Kuroko is Dangerous. If she sees Ayano Aishi commit murder, she will run up, spray her with pepper spray, and restrain her. She will push Ayano away if she gets too close, and will pepper spray her if she attempts to kill her without stealth or too close to her five times. She will break up fights between Ayano and a delinquent by announcing her presence, unless the fight was started by a delinquent who witnessed Ayano's crimes, in which case she will pepper spray Ayano and restrain her instead. If Ayano aims her Phone at Kuroko's face, she'll stand still but show no reaction. Intimidation will not work on Kuroko, even if Ayano has joined the delinquents. She is also not affected by seduction.
As the most responsible[5] and serious member of the student council, Kuroko has never been seen laughing and only adjusts her glasses when irritated.[6] Since her childhood, she has always maintained her serious expression and mindset.[7] She has also never cried in over 10 years,[8][9] which makes her appear apathetic, emotionless, but serious. Even in some hypothetical situations where she could loosen up, Kuroko's serious mindset would overdrive anything. One notable example is that if she were a game show host, she would be strict, serious, formal, run a tight "ship", and stick closely to the rules.[10] Even outside of Akademi, Kuroko wears practical and professional clothing akin to what an adult businesswoman would wear rather than a girl her age.[11] She would even go as far as to lecture a student skipping class, as if she were a disappointed parent and their absence from class personally offended her,[12] which shows how much the idea of professionalism, formality, handling issues with maturity, and a rigid mindset importantly weigh on her. Due to her mindset, Kuroko thinks that if she is not spending time studying, learning, accomplishing, and achieving, she will become a worthless disappointment.[13]
Despite her serious nature and aura, there have been some serious and extreme things she has done. For example, the most extreme thing she has ever done was to go on a roller coaster after being convinced by Shiromi Torayoshi,[14] feeling fear and regret while on the ride.[7] Regardless of the personality and image Kuroko has built for herself, she can feel some extreme emotions, such as someone openly explaining their perverted fantasies involving the Student Council, which would make Kuroko adjust her glasses.[15] Another instance of Kuroko expressing emotions that aren't being serious is someone hypothetically hugging her. Simply being hugged by someone would make her tense up and get annoyed at the person who is hugging her.[16] Kuroko does feel upset, but she usually bottles her own emotions away from other people.[17] Kuroko also feels empathy for people in unfortunate circumstances, as she is businesslike, formal and professional, but not cold. Kuroko would be patient with someone who's neurodivergent; she would understand, "They can't help it." and has enough self-discipline to hide any frustration that she might feel.[18] While she does not think of herself as superior because she was born rich, she does think of herself as being superior to others due to how much hard work she applies herself to, as a result of being raised by her parents to strive high.[19] It is known that she desires a relationship with a person where it's fine not to be formal or serious at all times.[20]
Overall, Kuroko herself is best described as a diligent, studious, and academically driven person who is in serious pursuit of bettering herself and her knowledge every day. This is reflected through any situation involving the use of brains, as in any trivia game, Kuroko would get almost all of the questions correct,[21] and any jigsaw puzzles would have her solve them quickly.[22] Her goal of success is reflected through her sleeping schedule, which gives Kuroko 6 hours of sleep every night.[23]
If she witnessed Ayano Aishi being visibly lewd, Kuroko would snap to the Phone Addict Persona, take a picture of Yan-chan, and report her to the guidance counselor immediately.[24]
If she weren't in the Student Council, she would be the school librarian.[25]
If Kuroko were on vacation at the beach, she would want to leave and go do something productive instead, but if that wasn't an option, then she would try her best to enjoy the scenery.[26]
Background[]
When Kuroko was a child, her best friend went on vacation and asked her to look after her dog. She agreed, but was too young to understand that dogs can't have human food. She fed the dog human food, and it got sick and died. She buried the dog's corpse in the woods instead of telling her friend the truth. Ever since then, she's had nightmares of a zombie dog crawling out of the ground and attacking her.[27]
She is the oldest student in the school.[28]
Routine[]

At 7:00 AM, Kuroko leaves the Student Council room and will begin patrolling all the rooms around the school that are not a Clubroom or Classroom, starting with the Infirmary.
At 8:00 AM, Kuroko walks to Classroom 3-2, sits at her desk, and plays on her phone. She starts her morning classes at 8:30 AM and leaves to patrol the rooms during lunch at 1:00 PM. She walks back to class at 1:22 PM, sits at her desk, and plays on her phone until her afternoon classes start at 1:30 PM. She goes back to patrolling the rooms at 3:30 PM, then goes to the Student Council Room at 4:00 PM and stays there for the rest of the day.
On Fridays at 3:30 PM, Kuroko will go to the Meeting Room with the rest of the Student Council and the club leaders to have a meeting.
If Kuroko is fired in Mission Mode, she will eat lunch in the Student Council room instead of patrolling the school, which enables the player to poison her. Firing her also allows the player to interact with Kuroko like any regular student.

- Food: As she is someone who strives for excellence in everything, she refuses to eat unhealthy food. She eats food that is beneficial in its nutritional value.[29]

Due to Kuroko's liking of solitude, she does not have any friends,[43] resulting in her often preferring the company of herself over any person. Even before becoming a Student Council member, Kuroko did not have many friends. She did have people that she was on courteous terms with, but they were not friends.[51] She also has no time for friends, as she thinks the concept of friendship does not advance her towards her goals.[16] If Kuroko were someone's friend, she would be described as not "super friendly" or a sociable person.[52] She would only go and hang out with a group of people if she thinks there is a greater purpose that is relevant to her.[7] Despite this liking for being alone, she has never been bullied.[16]
If Kuroko had a boyfriend and he broke her heart, she would spend a few moments in silence, with a death glare on her face. Then, she would leave and would never speak to him again.[53]
Family[]
YandereDev describes her family dynamic as formal, serious, businesslike, and cold.[54]
- Parents: Kuroko is similar to her parents, who YandereDev describes as formal, strict, serious, businesslike, and people who emphasize success and education.[55][56] They are also the same people who shaped Kuroko into who she is today,[7] as they used Saisho Saikou's child-rearing techniques to mold her into the person she is today.[13] Kuroko's parents control and design every aspect of her life, even going as far as to control her diet with rooted or unfounded beliefs in hopes that it would aid their daughter in being smarter.[57] Kuroko dislikes her life and how her parents raised her; she would never raise her children that way.[58]
- Her relationship with her parents is formal and businesslike, as it is almost like they are co-workers rather than loved family members.[59] They did feel disappointed when she lost the previous election in Akademi, but they did acknowledge that a Saikou could beat their daughter, which felt like a victory "in itself".[43] Kuroko is her parents' favorite child.[16]
- Siblings: Kuroko has siblings whose relationship is best described as non-conflictive, getting along well without any issues. YandereDev imagines Kuroko as the middle child.[60] While they do not fight, they are not warm and loving towards each other.[61] Her siblings were raised by their parents in a more relaxed manner and are considered to be casual people.[20]
Student Council[]
Kuroko's life revolves around being a student council member. The idea of being fired would cause Kuroko to be heavily depressed as she cannot be satisfied with any less, and she sees her role as a student council member as the highest role in Akademi.[62] At one point in her life, she was even the president of the student council, before losing the election to Megami. Despite this loss, she accepted a role from Megami to become the vice-president.[63] YandereDev mentioned that if she were in another club that wasn't the student council, she would establish her own literature club.[64]
- Megami Saikou: Kuroko questions all of Megami's choices related to the student council. She is unaware that Megami sees something in Akane and Aoi, which causes Kuroko to question why Megami even selected them in the first place.[65] In the Death Demon's ritual, it is revealed that Kuroko does indeed harbor animosity towards Megami for winning the Student Council Presidency. This animosity extends as far as being happy if Megami loses the election or leaves Akademi.[66]
- Akane Toriyasu: She thinks that Akane is a vapid ditz.[65]
- Aoi Ryugoku: Kuroko thinks that Aoi appears like an unintelligent brute and is not sure as to why Megami Saikou appointed Aoi to be a part of the student council.[67] In return, Aoi thinks that Kuroko's traits are something she doesn't like, and that Kuroko could stand to be more casual.[68]
- Shiromi Torayoshi: In a hypothetical situation, Shiromi taunted Kuroko in the Student Council clubroom by mentioning Kuroko's secret concerning her friend's dog. When she brushed this off, thinking it was a random offhand remark, Shiromi directly looked at Kuroko and smiled, "Woof". This would send chills down Kuroko's spine after she realizes that it wasn't a coincidence. Shiromi then yawned, made up an excuse to be somewhere, and left the room. The subject wouldn't be brought up again. YandereDev explained that Shiromi wasn't telling a cute joke to Kuroko; she was taunting her. This was due to Shiromi making a statement claiming that she could unravel anyone's secret, which caused Kuroko to make a snide remark about it. Shiromi then made it her mission to discover Kuroko's darkest secret, and proved her wrong.[69] She thinks of Shiromi as a weirdo.[65]

- Ayano Aishi: Kuroko will accept food from the Cooking Club members, but not from Ayano. As with all other student council members, she is also tasked with keeping an eye on Ayano, ordered by Megami. According to YandereDev, Kuroko thinks that Ayano seems to be a model student.[71]
- Friend from childhood: As mentioned, Kuroko had a friend who had a dog Kuroko took care of. Kuroko ended up unintentionally murdering the dog by feeding it food that was for humans, and buried it in the woods instead of telling the truth.[27] According to YandereDev, their relationship faded away as they grew older, before it completely died out.[72]

- Kuroko was implemented in the December 18th, 2017 Build.
- She's based on one of the four gods in Chinese mythology, namely "Black Tortoise" (玄武, read as Genbu).
- Her name is a gender neutral common surname. With 黒 (kuro) meaning "black" combined with 子 (ko) meaning "child".[73]
- Her last name (spelled 亀永 or 亀長), with 亀 meaning "turtle, tortoise." Either the Kanji 永 meaning "eternity, permanence", or the other Kanji letter (長) meaning "long, leader, chief".[74]
- If YandereDev decided to have a 50/50 gender split in the Student Council, she would be male.[75]
