Karlheinz Asylum Quotes

Karlheinz Asylum is a befriend/betray location featured in 1980s Mode.

Gameplay[]

Ryoba can go to this place from her house after reading her rival's diary and offering her help.

After sneaking into the asylum, Ryoba will have to burn down from one to ten bags with photos, scattered around different rooms, and then return home and inform her rival about it.

Drug addicts are walking around the hallways; the game will be over if they notice Ryoba. In one of the rooms on the second floor there's the Evil Photographer, Eisaku Nonoshita himself, but he never actually leaves the room. The difficulty of the mission depends on what week it currently is.

Building[]

The Asylum is an abandoned mental asylum outside of Buraza Town. By 1989, homeless people and drug addicts began squatting in the building. Also, a photographer started circulating rumors that the asylum is haunted by ghosts and that it is a good location to test one's courage, to lure girls to the asylum so that he can force them to strip their clothing and take photos of them at knifepoint. To eliminate a rival via befriending or betrayal, Ryoba Aishi must sneak through the asylum and burn the photographer's bags containing pictures of naked girls.

First floor[]

The first floor has a great hall, dining room, dayroom, and seven other rooms that are locked.

Ryoba enters the building via a window in the dining room. 3 drug addicts are roaming around. There is one bag in the dayroom.

Great Hall
Asylum Hall

The huge hallway includes rounded stairs leading to the second floor and a statue of a kneeling woman with the asylum name. The stairs and railings are in dark wood, the flooring is gray tiles that are chipped, and the walls are covered in concrete. There are a few windows behind the statue and pillars that hold up the structure of the asylum.

Dining Room

The dining room includes 2/3 of the wall being blue tiled walls with the remainder being concrete, tiled floors. The wall is shown to either be chipping away, or molding at the intersection where the wall and ceiling meet. There are a dozen of tables found in this room, with a few disorganized chairs found around them. Some of the chairs are toppled over on the ground, and one table holds a pot of rocks that Ryoba can use to distract the drug addicts. There are a few exposed heaters and windows with unclosed dark brown curtains.

Dayroom

The dayroom includes multiple organized chairs, an old-school projector, a white screen to project the virtual screen, one angled, decomposing sofa, and windows with huge dark red, tattered curtains. There are two short black chandeliers with multiple white bulbs dimly lighting up the room. An exposed heater can also be found in this room, although tucked in a corner. The brown textured flooring of the room is missing a couple of tiles, the concrete walls include a very small dark gray trim and mold at the top of the walls.

Second floor[]

The second floor has a classroom, two toilets, a kitchen, an office, a surgery room, an examination room, a bathroom, a bedroom, and one room that is locked.

All the other bags appear in all the rooms on the second floor. Eisaku is always in the bedroom, occasionally going from left to right, waiting for his next victim, allowing Ryoba to burn down the bag in that room.

Bedroom

The bedroom appears very old with a couple of gray beds, scattered brown night stands, exposed heaters, changing dividers, chairs, and one wheelchair found in the middle of the room. The room has dirty white walls with a khaki trim, windows with unclosed brown curtains, and one bag with Eisaku watching over it like a hawk, while periodically taking turns looking at the left window, the wall, and the bag.

Each washroom has no doors, three closed stalls, a duffel bag, two sink pipes with no sink bowl seen anywhere, and an open mirrored cabinet. Both washrooms have chipped and chiseled flooring and walls, with gray walls that feature a blue trim, and aqua tiles as the floor. Cigarettes are found in this room, and can be stolen by Ryoba.

An exposed heater is also found in this room. The walls have a plank trim with orange lines and there are two windows with opened curtains. There's also a duffel bag in here.

Trivia[]

  • The asylum's name can be found on the base of a statue in the lobby.
  • As of the August 1st, 2023 update, the homeless people and drug addicts now have 34 different lines of dialogue, and their dialogue is chosen randomly, instead of always playing in the same order.
  • Girls who have been lured into the asylum and victimized are referred to as "angels" by drug addicts and homeless people, as seen in some of their lines.[1]
