Info-chan is one of the main characters of Yandere Simulator, who provides various Services and Drops for Ayano Aishi. She's a student of Akademi but never leaves her room.

Appearance

Info-chan has spiky, neck-length red hair with a small ahoge on top. She has a protruding strand of hair and parted bangs on the right side.

She wears the default female school uniform with red square-rimmed glasses regardless of customization, as she is farsighted. During the rival meeting Senpai cutscenes, she wears a pink short-sleeved dress shirt with a plum t-shirt over it,

If the player tries to look at her Student Profile, they can see her glasses and hair, but everything else is a black silhouette.

Personality

"Info-chan" is the nickname given to an information broker who specializes in collecting and selling dark secrets.

Nobody knows her real name. Nobody knows what her face looks like. Nobody knows how she gathers her information. Nobody knows how she has gained such a dangerous amount of power and influence over such a short span of time. Some people don't even believe she really exists.

What people DO know is that, if you want a favor from her, all you need to do is text her a photograph of a girl's panties...and if she wants a favor from YOU, you'd better do exactly as she asks...or else.

In both the intros and the demo's cutscene about Amai, Info-chan is shown to be uncaring towards other people and their lives. She doesn't feel guilt or remorse whenever she harms others for personal gain. She also tends to be very persistent in her goals. Info-chan is extremely intelligent and resourceful, being able to learn almost anything if she wants. Info-chan has criminal contacts but her exact relationship with them is unknown.

In the second intro, she specifically wants Osana to get hurt in some awful way, but the reason for it is currently unknown. She's willing to set Ayano, someone who is unstable, against a girl who has a crush on Taro Yamada to see what happens.

She is the one and only member of the so-called Info Club and sits in a dark room working on her computer all day long. That club is exempt from school rules because, according to Headmaster's Tape #10, she blackmailed Kocho Shuyona into giving her access to the spare room and all of the necessary equipment she needed. It is unknown why she would want a room in the school as opposed to anywhere else. As a cover story for all the other staff, Kocho told them that she has severe agoraphobia so she can't be disturbed, lest she have an anxiety attack.

Info-chan was originally going to be the main antagonist of 202X Mode and would have ended up being Ayano's final rival, but this idea was later scrapped for an unknown reason. According to YandereDev, explaining why this change was made would be a spoiler. As of now, her motivations and ultimate goals are currently unknown. They are stated to be a plot twist that will be important to the game's story in the future.

Info-chan has no physical skills, but she does have hacking skills. YandereDev has stated that during her time at school, she only cared about subjects that could advance her career in hacking, such as: Computer Science, Math, Psychology, Science, Language Arts, Sociology, and that she may have barely passed other subjects.

Despite her sociopathic ways, Info-chan is not above fear. It is stated by YandereDev that after the Genocide Ending, Info-chan would be too terrified to contact Ayano again, knowing the horrors the latter was capable of doing.

Gameplay

Info-chan provides various services, schemes, and items in exchange for certain amounts of Info Points. Ayano can earn them by taking panty shots, placing bugs in certain spots at school, taking photos of students, stealing the phones of other students, and completing bounties. She also provides information about students and staff for free if Ayano sends her a picture of their faces.

The player can see Info-chan in person by peeking through the curtain of the Info Club, which is located on the Third Floor.

In the full game, Ayano will not be able to interact with her outside of text messages, unlike a regular student. If the player somehow gets into her room, she'll say "GET OUT!" and the game will restart itself. It is impossible to interact with her as with a normal student, including killing or kidnapping her, as it would be equivalent to "removing the run button in a Mario game".

Relationships

Ayano Aishi

Info-chan and Ayano seem to be tentative allies. However, Ayano is never required to kill anybody or use her services; Info-chan stated Ayano is free to ignore her completely.

Ayano and Info-chan have a purely client/provider relationship. Info-chan sees Ayano as just a stalker who could help her get rid of Osana, while Ayano thinks that Info-chan is disgusting. It seems that one of them might see their reasons for doing what they're doing as justified, while the other person is just insane. Info-chan's attitude towards or beliefs about Ayano may be affected by the player's actions.

It would be a spoiler to say what would happen if all rivals were eliminated non-lethally and the player never helped out Info-chan by earning Info Points. YandereDev wants it to influence some events near the end of the story. YandereDev has also not revealed if Ayano will officially meet Info-chan in real life. Apparently, it will be a plot twist.

Info-chan's perception of Ayano can be shaped and molded; however, YandereDev cannot reveal this in detail without spoilers.

If Info-chan had an Aishi who was not only heavily devoted to her but was skilled at murder, Info-chan would use her as a tool.

Family

The player may possibly see one of her parents. However, Info-chan's parents have no idea what she's doing.

Info-chan's mother was possibly also "Info-chan" in her teenage years, but YandereDev said it's hard to answer that without spoilers.

Students

The alias "Info-chan" is extremely notorious around Akademi, and the whole school knows what Info-chan does, so her reputation is set at -999. Info-chan's true identity, however, has a neutral reputation, because no one knows who she really is.

Info-chan doesn't seem to care for the students' well-being. For both intros, panty shots, blackmail, and other invasions of privacy mean nothing to her. Info-chan does not seem to care if Ayano kills any of her rivals. Info-chan is said to still help her out by sometimes introducing a rival to her by sending a picture of them. Sending pictures of corpses to Info-chan also doesn't faze her in the slightest.

Osana Najimi and Amai Odayaka

Info-chan specifically has something against them, as shown when she's informing the player about them. It's not stated why, but Info-chan wishes for them to suffer.

Taro Yamada

Info-chan does not care about Taro's love life. She does know what's up with it, however; she knows who has a crush on him and rivals Ayano for his affection.

She was originally planned to be the final rival and would have just used Ayano to get rid of her other rivals so she'd be that much closer to having him all for herself, but this idea was scrapped.

Midori Gurin

Info-chan dislikes Midori. She cannot tolerate the inquisitive girl for more than a few seconds.

Criminal Contacts

Info-chan has many criminal contacts and many ways to obtain illegal things, but guns are the only thing she can't obtain. She also has connections to criminals who sell poisons, although they are not her friends or members of her family. They are merely business associates.

• According to YandereDev, Info-chan's real name is not important enough to be released, and her name does not have any role or importance to the game, so it will most likely stay a mystery. However, YandereDev confirmed that he has a name for Info-chan, and it's still a double entendre, but much more clever than the ones that have appeared in the past.
  • At the very early stages of the development, Info-chan was referred to as Sidekick-chan or Newspaper-chan.
  • Her name was planned to be a double entendre, meaning both "informant" and "traitor". The only Japanese words that mean both of these words are "Mikkokusha" (密告者), meaning "informer/informant" and "betrayer", and "Uragirimono" (裏切者), meaning "backstabber/traitor" and "informer".
  • YandereDev also considered that her name could be "Joho Teikyosha" (情報提供者) or "Teikyo Shajoho" (提供者情報), which both mean "informant".
  • A popular Youtube video used glitches to get her name, and got one with the same surname as the Journalist; however, that is not her real name - the name displayed by the glitch is chosen randomly each time among the available names for spare teachers.
• At the early stages of the development, Info-chan was introduced as the outwardly confident and very curious leader of the newspaper club, as finding out secrets about other students is a serious hobby of hers, not just a job. She's very ambitious, as she wants her newspaper to become popular badly enough that she goes to the trouble of asking Ayano to stir up turmoil through murder. However, her backstory and motivations were later changed.
  • During this time, Info-chan was supposed to use a store-bought model (named Honoka Futaba) that can be bought here. However, she eventually got the same model as the rest of the female cast.
• YandereDev loves programming Info-chan and what will be in store for her.
• Although her profile was already present in the Student Info since September 19th, 2015, Info-chan was officially added to the game on March 15th, 2016.
• Info-chan was added to YandereDev's "characters" on September 30th, 2016.

He did figure out she exists and even learnt about her personal identity and location; however, the head of cybersecurity for Saikou Corp has yet to report Info-chan or even take action against her.
  • His idea is that in the event that Info-chan does even manage to hack into the systems of Saikou Corp, he would offer her two choices. Be hired by Saikou Corp, or get arrested by the police. The reason why he has these two options for an event like this is that he was hired by Saikou Corp after hacking into their systems and explaining how he did it himself.
  • Saikou knows she is more than a hacker, but does not have plans to go further with her.
• She would pay a lot of money for "dirt" on Shiromi Torayoshi.
  • Despite this, she knows the Student Council members' secrets.
• She is likely asexual.
  • If Info-chan ever did find herself becoming attracted to another person, it would probably be because that person can accomplish things she can't.
  • It's likely she won't ever meet that kind of person, but it's possible that they may exist somewhere. From there, they would try to hack one another, get curious about each other, learn more about one another, and eventually meet up for some reason related to a big hacking job that they can only do with each other's help.
