Honami Hodoshima is the third rival and one of the female students who attended Akademi in 1980s Mode. Following the game's storyline, she was Ryoba's fourth rival.
Appearance[]
Honami has straight, mid-back length seaweed-green hair, messy bangs and long, five-pointed ahoges. She has pale blue eyes.
She wears the default 1980s uniform with royal blue circular glasses and black ankle-length socks.
Personality[]
Honami is a shy and nerdy girl who spends nearly all of her time reading books.
She loves reading more than anything else, and has volunteered to be the school's librarian.
She is extremely timid and has a very difficult time with social interactions, often stuttering and failing to finish her sentences properly.

Among the Personas that are currently in the game, Honami is Lovestruck. If she witnesses Ryoba Aishi commit murder, she will run to Jokichi Yudasei and inform him that Ryoba is a murderer, causing an automatic Game Over. If she finds a corpse, she will run to Jokichi and tell him there is a murderer in the school. They will then run out of the school and call the police.
Honami will become a Coward on subsequent weeks if she is eliminated peacefully and still attends Akademi, such as befriending her or making Jokichi reject her. On Week 5, she will start dating her suitor, Hachiro Iso, even if they weren't matchmade before.
Honami's black ankle-socks represent her secret desire to enact violent revenge on her bullies from her previous school.[2]

... my sweet, wonderful Senpai... is too popular for his own good. Yet another girl has been getting a little too close to him lately. She's a shy, timid, little bookworm. When a guy sees that type of girl... he just wants to scoop her up in his arms and protect her, right? ... it makes me sick. I need to get rid of her as soon as possible... but if her death is an obvious murder, it might complicate things. If I do decide to kill her... perhaps I should make it look like an accident. The only thing I know about this girl is that she loves books. It sure would be a shame if the one thing she loves the most... is what leads to her tragic, untimely demise. Before she can crush my dreams... I need to crush HER.

At 7:05 AM, Honami enters the school grounds, then heading to her locker and changes her outdoor shoes to her indoor shoes. At 7:10 AM, she drops off her bag by her desk at Classroom 2-2, she will then head to the Library to sit at the table on the left side and read a book. Later, she will head to a bookshelf to pick out another book before heading back to the table, she will head back to her classroom at 8:00 AM.
She goes to sit inside the library to have lunch at 1:00 PM, then goes back to her class at 1:20 PM. She participates in Cleaning Time from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM, cleaning the library. After Cleaning Time concludes, she will repeat her morning schedules until 5:15 PM, where she will leave the library and head to her locker to change back to her outdoor shoes, at 5:30 PM, she leaves the school grounds.

At 7:00 AM, Honami gives Jokichi a bento and they agree to meet at 5:15 PM so he can tell her how it tasted. At 5:15 PM, Jokichi and Honami meet outside the gate and Honami asks how the bento was. If the bento wasn't poisoned with an emetic poison, Jokichi says he enjoyed it and they walk home together. If the bento was poisoned, Jokichi says that the bento made him sick and they walk home separately.
- Tuesday
At 7:00 AM, Jokichi gives Honami a book she had asked about and she puts it in her bookbag. They then decide to meet at 5:15 PM so she can return the book. At 5:15 PM, Jokichi and Honami meet outside the gate and Jokichi asks her what she thought of it. If the book wasn't stolen, Honami says it was good and gives it back as she's planning on buying her own copy soon; they then walk home together. If the book was stolen, Honami apologizes for losing it and they walk home separately.
- Wednesday
At 7:00 AM, Honami tells Jokichi she has a gift for him which she'll give to him at lunchtime. She leaves the gift on her desk when she goes to drop off her bag. At 1:00PM, Honami and Jokichi meet on the Rooftop where she gives him the gift box. If the contents weren't replaced with contraband, the box will contain a book on the Occult, which she bought for Jokichi after hearing he was interested in the occult; they then eat lunch together. If the contents were replaced, Jokichi will refuse the gift, leaving Honami to eat lunch alone.
- Thursday
At 7:00 AM, Honami and Jokichi talk about a movie they're planning to see after school. During this conversation, Honami yawns and Jokichi suggests she take a nap after cleaning time so she doesn't sleep through the movie. At 4:00 PM, she takes a nap in the Infirmary. If her bento wasn't poisoned with a Sedative, Honami meets Jokichi at the gate at 5:15 PM and they leave school to see the movie. If her bento was poisoned, Jokichi will get impatient and go home at 5:55 PM.
- Friday
At 7:00 AM, Honami talks to Jokichi. During this conversation, Jokichi will tell her that he is worried about a test that they will have before lunch. Unfortunately, he lost all of the notes he took and was unable to study before the test. Honami copies her notes for him and leaves them on his desk. At 1:00 PM, Honami and Jokichi will meet on the roof and she will ask him if the notes helped. If the notes weren't sabotaged, Jokichi says he aced the test and they eat lunch together. If the notes were sabotaged, Jokichi says the notes didn't help him at all they eat lunch separately.
At 5:00 PM, Honami will go to Jokichi's locker and leave a note asking him to meet her under the cherry tree behind the school. If Ryoba Aishi matchmakes her, she will go to Hachiro Iso's locker instead. Honami will then run to the Confession Tree and wait for either Jokichi or Hachiro. She will then confess her love to him. If she confesses to Jokichi, he will either accept her feelings or reject them. If she confesses to Hachiro, he will accept her feelings.

Jokichi Yudasei[]
During the third week of 1980s mode, Honami befriends Jokichi and develops feelings for him. Canonically, she is killed before she can confess.
Hachiro Iso[]
Honami's suitor is Hachiro, and Ryoba can matchmake her with him.
Her Family[]
Honami's family was absolutely devastated by the news of her death.[3] Her family are most likely unaware that Ryoba was responsible.
Canon Elimination[]
Honami's canon elimination is crushing.
- The player must have a Physical Stat of 1 to complete this elimination.
- Go to the Library, befriend Yui Rio, Yuna Hina, Koharu Hinata and Mei Mio. Ask the girls a favor and select "Go Away", this will leave the player alone with Honami in the Library (You can also distract the girls with giggles).
- Move the first bookshelf without anybody looking (use giggles to lure them away). Once Honami is at the bookshelf, crush her with the pulled bookcase.
Alternative Eliminations[]
The player can still achieve the S+ tier ranking if Honami dies of Crushing, regardless of circumstances.
The player has three options to eliminate Honami by crushing:
Option 1: The player should leave a note in Honami's locker about the "Evil Photographer" in the Locker Room. The player should select the outdoor cafeteria as the location in the note. The player should then obtain a pipe wrench, go to the location of the ventilation shaft with an Air Unit and wait for Honami to stand below the Air Unit. Finally, the player can hold the pipe wrench and click the prompt when standing near the Air Unit.
Option 2: The player can befriend Honami (need Language Stat raised to level 1), and ask her follow the player (The player can also try to distract her using the thinker statue). The player should lead Honami in the Foreign Studies Room and in front of the Iron Maiden. Physical Education stat must be raised to level 1 for the player to crush Honami in the Iron Maiden. Finally, open the doors of the closed Iron Maiden and leave.
Option 3: The player should leave a note in Honami's locker about the "Evil Photographer" in the Locker Room. The player should select behind school as the location in the note. The player then join the Sports Club and bring the 50-kg Weight up to the rooftop. You must have a Physical Education stat of 1 to carry the weight. When you are on the rooftop in between both ventilation systems or the statue of Kocho Shuyona behind the school, drop the 50-kg Weight on Honami once she arrives.

- According to Akademi Daily, the reason for Honami's two week absence is because she had an illness until she was fully recovered in the third week.
- According to her diary, Honami was once so immersed in a book that she fell down some stairs and broke her arm.
- Canonically, Honami was crushed to death by a bookcase by Ryoba, so her status is deceased.

There's an abandoned insane asylum just outside of town. Spending a night there is a popular "test of courage."
I'm probably the least brave person in Akademi. I wanted to build up my courage, so I decided to spend a night in the asylum.
In the asylum, I was confronted by a man with a knife. I ran from him, but I got cornered in a room with only one exit.
He blocked the doorway and told me...to strip my clothing off. I was terrified of losing my life, so...I did as I was told.
He didn't lay a hand on me...but he took out a camera and...took a bunch of pictures of me...
Actually, he had a big duffle bag with him. At one point, I saw what was inside...a bunch of photographs of other girls.
Ugh, I bet that creep is the one who started the rumor about the asylum being a good place for a "test of courage..."
I wonder how many other girls have already been victimized in the same way that I was...
Eventually, I saw an opportunity to escape, so I grabbed my clothes and ran away. I still have nightmares about it...
