Homu Kurusu is one of the female students who currently attends Akademi in 202X mode.
Appearance[]
Homu has neck-length gray hair styled in a bob cut with light neon/blue-green streaks lining her fringe and several locks behind her head, along with bright green eyes. She is the second shortest club member.[2]
She wears the default school uniform with pointed robotic ears, which are dark-gray at the bottom and get lighter at the tips, that stick out of her head unless customized by the player. When in the Science Club, she will wear a white lab coat. Unlike other members of the Science Club, she does not wear a visor. If the club disbands, she will stop wearing the pointed robotic ears.
Her visor is an AR headset that displays information about the robot she's working on.[3] Additionally, it can read her brain waves; which can be helpful to "think" of a command and have it sent to a computer.
Outside of school, she would wear plain clothing, as she is not concerned with being fashionable.[4]
She and Hisa both used the same hairstyle, because they thought it was cute to match.[5]
Personality[]
Homu Kurusu specializes in the fields of robotics and artificial intelligence. She was once a friendly and cheerful young woman, but became cold and asocial - almost robotic - after witnessing the death of her twin sister. She dedicates the majority of her time towards the construction of what appears to be a robotic replica of herself in the Science Club. While some people are quick to dismiss this as an act of narcissism, there are others who theorize that she is attempting to build a replica of her dead twin, in order to 'resurrect' her sister from the grave.

A cold and emotionless young woman. Building a robotic replica of herself in the science club. Some presume that she is motivated by narcissism, but others theorize that she is attempting to build a replica of her dead twin sister.
Among the Personas that are currently implemented in the game, Homu is a Teacher's Pet. She will give Ayano Aishi a suspicious look if she aims her phone at her. If she sees a corpse or witnesses a murder, she will report to her teacher, unless another Teacher's Pet has already. She cannot participate in physical fights against murderers.
YandereDev describes Homu's mind as "one track", as she only thinks about her sister and not anybody else.[6]
Background[]
Before the death of her sister, Homu's interest in robotics was small, but it grew immensely after the death of her sister.[6]
Routine[]
Homu working on Robot-chan
At 7:00 AM, Homu enters the school grounds with the other Science Club members. She walks to her locker at 7:05 AM and changes from her outdoor shoes to her indoor shoes. At 7:15 AM, she walks to the Science Club on the third floor, works on Robot-chan, and fetches supplies from the Third Floor storage room.
At 8:12 AM, Homu walks to Classroom 1-1, sits at her desk, and plays on her phone. She starts her morning classes at 8:30 AM, and leaves to go to the outside of the Science Club to eat her lunch at 1:00 PM.
Homu walks back to class again at 1:30 PM and participates in cleaning time between 3:30 PM and 4:00 PM. Afterwards, she heads to the Science Club and stays there until the end of the day.
If the Science Club is disbanded, Homu will socialize with the other former members in the Science Lab during periods in which she would normally attend it.
If she is befriended, she will socialize with Robot-chan in the Science Club.
If Robot-chan goes missing, Homu would perform a "confused and look around" animation at her platform area.
If Robot-chan is used to murder someone, the day after the murder, Homu will mourn near the control stand where the robot used to stand.
Task[]

Homu Kurusu needs a portable energy source that can provide enough electricity to keep her humanoid robot operating for hours. Find an object that satisfies her needs, and bring it to her. Consider transporting it in a bookbag to avoid attracting any suspicion. |
| To complete Homu's task, the player can grab the Car Battery from the First Floor storage room near the Cooking Club and give it to Homu. As the battery can attract unneeded attention, the player can conceal the item inside their bookbag. If the task is completed, Homu's routine will change, and there will be a new elimination method that will be available to unlock. | |

Miscellaneous[]
Homu's topics outside of the game includes:
- Favorite food: Her favorite food is anything that can be prepared and eaten quickly while packed with nutrients.[2]
- Many of Homu's topics revolve around her deceased sister. She dislikes Art and Nature because they do not have anything to do with bringing her sister's life back. She likes occult as she believes ghosts can exist so she can see her sister again. She also likes justice as she wants to "correct the wrongs" in the world, one of these wrongs being that her sister is dead.[2]
Relationships[]
Science Club members[]
Homu and the other Science club members are simply acquaintances. While they don't hate each other, they aren't friends.[7][8]
- Meka Nikaru: Both Homu and Meka interact with each other since their interests and expertise often overlap, although they interact more similarly to experts in a similar field than friends. These interactions are not something to enjoy, as they simply share knowledge. The only thing about Meka that Homu dislikes about her is the fact that she uses her incredible engineering knowledge and training for something nerdy like giant robots from her favorite anime, instead of replicating the dead.[6] While they do help each other occasionally, the only time Homu would talk to Meka is if she absolutely needed her help.[9] She and Meka are both equally experienced in their respective fields.[10]
Family Members[]
Her family members thought it was unhealthy for Homu to be constantly thinking of her deceased sister. When Homu took an interest in robotics, her family assumed it was a hobby that she could put her attention on. They are not aware that Homu took an interest in robotics to rebuild her sister, or even aware that she currently has a robotic model of her sister in Akademi's Science Club.[11]
Hisa Kurusu[]
- Main article: Robot-chan
Homu had a twin sister, Hisa,[12][13] who died in a car accident[7][8] around 1-5 years before the game begins,[14] not being inside a car when it happened.[15] Homu loves her sister and is willing to do anything to resurrect Hisa, even if it means sacrificing the lives of other people. It is revealed in Homu's task that Robot-chan is her sister she has been attempting to resurrect.
After the death of Hisa, she became cold and distant, as she couldn't do anything but think of her sister.[11] If Hisa was still alive, Homu would have kept her warm personality.[16] Before Hisa's passing, she and Homu were a little similar to the Basu sisters; they loved each other very much and spent a lot of time together, but may not have been as "glued to each other" as closely as the Basu sisters are.[17]
If the task is completed, Homu will communicate with Robot-chan as if it were her living sister. If Robot-chan is used in a murder, Homu will sit in a ball position near the control panel of the robot platform and not do anything else. Her walk/idle animation will change into a "depressed" walk/idle animation on all subsequent days, similar to Osana Najimi and Raibaru Fumetsu, or Sakyu Basu and Inkyu Basu if one of them were killed without them witnessing on the previous day.
Trivia[]
- She was implemented as a silhouette in the May 10th, 2018 Build.
- She was fully implemented in the July 1st, 2018 Build.
- Her name is a reference to "Homunculus, " an artificially made human creature.[18]
- She has a similar personality to Ayano Aishi and Geiju Tsuka.
- Homu and Hisa were inspired by the character of Chachamaru from Negima.[19]
- She is ambidextrous.[2]
- Before Kaga's experiment, she had cyan hair and eyes, while Hisa had teal hair and eyes.[5]
- They are fraternal twins, hence why they have different eye and hair colors.[5]
- In a hypothetical interaction with a child, Homu wouldn't want to interact with the child at all.[20]
