Yuna Hina

Yuna Hina (real name: Yuna Asahina) is one of the female students who attended Akademi in 1980s Mode.

Before she was reintroduced in 1980s Mode, she was one of the female students who attended Akademi in 202X Mode. She appeared in Buraza Town as a background character, along with the other removed students.

Appearance[]

Yuna wears the default 1980s uniform.

She has bright, yellow-blonde hair that's tied into a side ponytail on her left side, which is held by a white hair tie. Her bangs reach her eyes, and her hair and ponytail reach her shirt collar. Her eyes are yellow.

Yuna wore the default uniform unless customized by the player.

From the March 1st, 2015 Build^[2] until the February 8th, 2016 Build, she had olive colored hair worn in a ponytail identical to Yui Rio's old hair, but it was swept to the left instead, and her eyes were light yellow.

As of the February 8th, 2016 Build, she had dirty yellow hair kept up in a high ponytail worn on the left with her bangs swept to the right. She had a slight cowlick on the left side of her ponytail, and her eyes were dark yellow. Her bust size was 0.8.

As of the January 16th, 2017 Build, she wore a yellow friendship bracelet on her right wrist.

As of the February 2nd, 2017 Build, she wore yellow stockings and panties.

As of the May 19th 2017 Build, her eyes returned to a light yellow.

Personality[]

Among the personas that are currently implemented in the game, Yuna is a Snitch. If she sees a corpse or witnesses a murder, she will run to the landline phone in the Faculty Room and call the police. She cannot participate in physical fights against murderers.

Week 10[]

During Week 10, Yuna helps with Sonoko Sakanoue's investigation and uses the Sleuth persona. She will take a photo of Ryoba Aishi committing murder or of the corpse and run to show it to the police, who are just outside the school. This will cause an instant Game Over if the photo is of Ryoba committing murder, as Ryoba will have been arrested.

Routine[]

Week 1[]

In 1980s Mode, Yuna changes her shoes at 7:00 AM, then hangs out in the school plaza with the rest of the rainbow girls and Kaguya Wakaizumi. At 8:00 AM, she goes to class in Classroom 2-2.

At 1:00 PM, she then heads to the rooftop, along with the rest of the rainbow students and Kaguya, to eat lunch. She heads back to class at 1:25 PM, then participates in Cleaning Time at 3:30 PM, cleaning Classroom 2-2.

At 4:00 PM, she lastly heads to her locker, changes her shoes, then walks out of school with the rest of the rainbow students.

Week 2 and 6[]

Yuna will quickly rush to her locker and change into her shoes at 7:00 AM, and sits down to read by the shoe lockers and stays there until 8:15 AM.

At 8:15 AM, Yuna will run to Classroom 2-2 and sits at her desk and starts her morning classes at 8:30 AM. Afterwards, she leaves to go eat her lunch outside of Classroom 2-2.

Afterwards, she runs back to class again at 1:28 PM and participates in cleaning time between 3:30 PM and 4:00 PM. At 4:00 PM, she will read by the Indoor Cafeteria.

On Thursday, she will not participate during cleaning time and will instead sit down and read till the end of the day.

Week 3 and Week 7[]

During Week 3 and Week 7, Yuna sits in the library and reads a book so that there will be witnesses around Honami Hodoshima. (And later Teiko Nabatasai).

Yuna changes her shoes at 7:00 AM, then goes straight to the library and reads along with the other rainbow girls. At 8:00 AM, she then goes to class in Classroom 2-2.

At 1:00 PM, she heads to the back to the library, along with the rest of the rainbow girls and Honami to eat lunch. Yuna heads back to class at 1:25 PM, then participates in Cleaning Time at 3:30 PM, cleaning Classroom 2-2.

At 4:00 PM, she heads back to the library and continues reading with the other rainbow girls.

At 4:30 PM, she heads to her locker, changes her shoes, then walks out of school with the rest of the rainbow students.

Week 4[]

Yuna changes her shoes at 7:00 AM, then goes straight to the girls locker room to converse with Yui Rio. At 8:00 AM, she then goes to class in Classroom 2-2.

At 1:00 PM, she heads up to the rooftop along with the rest of the rainbow girls and Kaguya to eat lunch. Yuna heads back to class at 1:23 PM, then participates in Cleaning Time at 3:30 PM, cleaning Classroom 2-2.

At 4:00 PM, she goes to the indoor cafeteria to perform raijo taiso along with the Rainbow Haired students and Sumiko Tachibana. At 4:30 PM, she heads to her locker, changes her shoes, then walks out of school with the rest of the rainbow students.

Week 5 and Week 9[]

Yuna changes her shoes at 7:00 AM, then goes straight to the girls locker room to converse with Yui Rio. At 8:00 AM, she then goes to class in Classroom 2-2.

At 1:00 PM, she heads up to the rooftop along with the rest of the rainbow girls and Kaguya to eat lunch. Yuna heads back to class at 1:25 PM, then participates in Cleaning Time at 3:30 PM, cleaning Classroom 2-2.

At 4:00 PM, she heads back to the female locker to converse with Yui Rio until 4:30 PM.

Week 8[]

During Week 8, Yuna walks around following Komako Funakoshi along with other rainbow girls in Akademi, making it harder for Ryoba Aishi to kill her without a witness. She eats outside of the Calligraphy Room at lunch.

Week 10[]

At 7:00 AM, Yuna enters the school grounds and immediately investigates various students, including Ryoba.

At 8:00 AM, she walks to Classroom 2-2 and sits at her desk. She starts her morning classes at 8:30 AM and leaves to once again investigate various students at 1:00 PM.

She walks back to class again at 1:30 PM and participates in cleaning time between 3:30 PM and 4:00 PM. Afterward, she will continue to investigate various students until the end of the day.

At 7:05 AM, Yuna entered the school grounds. She walked to her locker at 7:10 AM and changed from her outdoor shoes to her indoor shoes. At 7:15 AM, she walked into the plaza, to the left side of the fountain, and gossiped with Yui Rio, Koharu Hinata, Mei Mio, Saki Miyu, and Kokona Haruka. She would also gossip with Musume Ronshaku before the bullies were implemented.

At 8:00 AM, Yuna walked into Classroom 1-2 and sat at her desk. She started her morning classes at 8:30 AM, and left to go to the cafeteria to gossip at 1:00 PM.

Yuna walked back to class again at 1:30 PM and participated in cleaning time between 3:30 PM and 4:00 PM. Afterwards, she headed to the Cooking Club and stayed there until 5:00 PM. She then headed to her locker and changed from her indoor shoes to her outdoor shoes, then she lingered there until 5:15 PM, when she walked home.

Her hairstyle before the February 8th, 2016 Build was changed because YandereDev thought her previous hairstyle was "low budget" and "amateurish".^[3]
Her name is a reference to the most popular female Japanese names in 2012, the third most popular being Yuna, and the fourth most popular being Hina.^[4]^[5]
- The "yu" part of her first name, Yuna, can be written as "reason" (由) or "excellence" (優). The "na" part of her name can be written as [a phonetic character], "greens, vegetables" (菜), or "calm" (和).
- The "hi" part of Hina, written as a first name, has several possible writings such as "light/sun" (陽), "sun/day" (日), or "queen, princess" (妃). The "na" part can be written as [a phonetic character], "greens, vegetables" (菜), or "calm" (和).
Her real name is Yuna Asahina as of the October 10th, 2021 build.
- Her real surname, Asahina (written as 朝比奈 or 朝日奈), means "sunny place".
In older versions of the game, her name was Mio Akiya.^[6] The placeholder name was inspired by Mio Akiyama from K-On!.^[7]
Her male counterpart is Sota Yuki.
Before the June 29th, 2016 Build, she used to arrive on school grounds 3rd in line on the left side, at 7:05 AM.
As of the August 18th, 2018 Build, she has been removed from the game. YandereDev said that she (with the other rainbow students) will be put back into the game once the frame rate is stable, and if not, then she (along with the other removed rainbow students) will appear in 1980s Mode.
She and the rest of the Rainbow Six, excluding Saki, appear in the town as of October 17th 2019.
According to YandereDev, she along with the other Rainbow Hair Students had normal lives after they graduated. ^[8]
