Sakyu Basu

Sakyu Basu is one of the female students who currently attends Akademi.

Appearance[]

Sakyu wears the default uniform with spider web stockings unless customized by the player.

She has long, purple hair with bangs parted to the right. She also has yellow eyes with catlike contact lenses, lavender and red eyeshadow, and hot pink lipstick. Sakyu has a mole on the left side of her chin. Her bust size is 1.5. She also wears a golden ring with three pink jewels.

Among the personas that are currently implemented in the game, Sakyu is a Social Butterfly. She will happily pose for a picture if Ayano aims her phone at her. If she sees a corpse or witnesses a murder, she will run to the nearest crowd and call the police. However, if she sees Inkyu Basu's dead body, she'll run up to her body and call the police, sobbing near Inkyu's body. She cannot participate in physical fights against murderers unless they kill her sister. If Inkyu is killed without Sakyu witnessing it, she will take on the Fragile persona.

She is knowledgeable, serious, and a "tsukkomi".^[3]

Events[]

The player can cause Sakyu to be soaked with water and steal her ring while she showers. This can be useful for getting your rival expelled.

Previously, Sakyu would take off her ring at lunchtime while eating, which gave the player an easy opportunity to steal it. This has since been removed.

Routine[]

At 7:00 AM, Sakyu enters the school grounds, walks to her locker , and changes from her outdoor shoes to her indoor shoes. Then, she walks to the fountain located at the southwest side of the school and talks with her half-sister, Inkyu Basu. Oka Ruto used to stalk both of them the entire time. After her conversation, she walks around the exterior of the school with Inkyu, searching for something. They search places such as the fountains, the Japanese Gardens, and the Confession Tree. At 8:00 AM, she walks into Classroom 2-2, sits at her desk, and plays around on her phone before her classes start. She starts her morning classes at 8:30 AM.

She then leaves to go to the rooftop to eat lunch with her sister at 1:00 PM. She walks back to class again at 1:22 PM, sits at her desk, and plays around on her phone again until her next classes start. Her next classes start at 1:30 PM.

At 3:30 PM, she lastly participates in cleaning time which ends at 4:00 PM. She will continue to walk around the exterior of the school with her half-sister and search for something again. She will not go home until 6:00 PM.

Every day, Inkyu will ask her a question, and she will respond with an answer. They will also comment on deaths, disappearances, atmosphere, school rules, and some lore. This feature has been added as of the May 1st, 2020 build.^[3] If Inkyu was ever killed, she would mourn her half-sister's death instead of gossiping on the rooftop. In the Demo, there are only five days, so the player will only be able to hear only five of their conversations.

Among these daily discussions, they will drop some hints to the fact, that they are indeed supernatural beings. An example is referring to the other students as ‘the humans’.

Inkyu Basu[]

Inkyu Basu is Sakyu's younger half-sister.

They enjoy spending time together, as stated in Sakyu's Student Profile. Inkyu often asks Sakyu questions regarding the lore of Akademi and about any recent news.

As they are very close, if the player kills Inkyu in front of Sakyu, she will attack the player with much more force than she's usually capable of. If her half-sister disappears or is murdered, Sakyu will mourn her on the rooftop showing care for her sister. She will also react negatively when Ayano gossips about Inkyu.

If she witnesses Ayano murdering her half-sister, she will react with the Heroic persona, and attempt to apprehend Ayano.

Oka Ruto[]

Sakyu and her half-sister were stalked daily by Oka, in a futile search for evidence that they are supernatural beings: Sakyu Basu being a succubus, and her sister, Inkyu Basu being a vampire.

She was implemented as of the November 15, 2015 Build.
If she had a voice in-game, she would sound serious and mature.^[4]
- As of the May 5th, 2016 Build, she now has a voiced, in-game dialogue when her ring goes missing.
- As of the May 1st, 2020 Build, she has fully voiced conversations with her sister.
She wears cosmetic contact lenses. YandereDev established this in the additional info section so that people wouldn't think that Sakyu is a cat monster in human form.^[5]
According to her Student Profile, she is rumored to be a succubus who is disguised as a human.
Her model is shared by Himedere-chan, Dracula-chan , and the Lust Demon.
Her name is a play on the Japanese Katakana transcription of the word "succubus", Sakyubasu (サキュバス).
In the future, if her half-sister dies, she might switch to the sleuth persona.^[6]
Her character model (along with Inkyu Basu's model) can be bought in the Unity 3D Asset Store. The pack's name is Succubus Twins Character Pack. Her model's name is Arum.
Both of the Basu sisters will probably not join any clubs.^[7]
On Akademi's Kaobook page, she asks how old the school's sakura trees are.

Before the May 1st, 2020 Build, she and her half-sister walked to the rooftop and spent their day talking there.
She likes the colors purple and red.
Sakyu and Inkyu have the same mother, but different fathers. However, they don't see this as a valid reason to feel any less of a connection to one another.^[8]
Even outside of school, Sakyu and Inkyu are nearly inseparable. They spend more than 90% of their time with one another.^[9]
Both Sakyu and Inkyu Basu have murdered countless people their entire lives to prolong their existence.
