Musume Ronshaku

Musume Ronshaku (real name: Mutsumi Rokuda) is one of the female students who currently attends Akademi. She is the leader of the Bullies.

Appearance[]

Musume wears the default school uniform unless customized by the player, but she always wears a shorter skirt.

She has long, wavy-messy light blonde hair that is tied up in a messy half-ponytail, a salmon pink streak on the right side of her fringe, and a light blue butterfly sparkly hair clip. She wears light sparkly blue earrings. Musume has pale blue eyes and eye shadow with clear salmon lipstick and blush. She wears pink panties and has a bust size of 1.5. She has tanned skin and wears leg warmers.

She wears colorful bracelets and scrunchies on both of her wrists. The colors of her scrunchies are light blue, light orange and blue A light blue and orange jacket is tied around her waist. She also has turquoise acrylic nails and wears a blue book bag.

Her presenting color is blue.

Prior to becoming a bully, she had black hair like her parents, styled in low pigtails and held by light blue hairbands. Her tanned complexion comes from her father, and her blue eyes come from her mother.

Personality[]

“	The leader of the Bullies is named Mutsumi Rokuda. She is the daughter of a well-known loan shark, which has earned her the nickname 'Musume Ronshaku,' which translates to 'Daughter Loanshark.' Her rich father spoiled her rotten, and as a result, Musume grew up without any reason to treat others with kindness or respect. Gradually, she developed the belief that most people are 'beneath' her, and that the 'lowest' people are mere playthings for her to torment. Like a child who never learned the difference between right and wrong, she simply lacks the ability to see her victims as people who deserve empathy or compassion. She doesn't deliberately seek out victims, but when she spots one, she will happily seize the opportunity to treat another person like dirt. Throughout her life, Musume rarely had to face any sort of consequences for her poor behavior. Her father's reputation intimidated most of her teachers and classmates, so most authority figures refused to discipline her, and most kids refused to stand up to her. If she ever did anything seriously bad, her father would make the problem go away using money...or his special brand of intimidation.	”

Among the personas that are currently implemented, Musume is a Phone Addict. She will happily pose for a picture when Ayano aims her camera at her face. If she sees a corpse or witnesses a murder, she will snap a picture with her phone and quickly text it to the police. While she is doing this, she will run out of the school.

She is a member of 'The Bullies', meaning that she will spread rumors about students, bully those with the lowest reputation, and write abusive words on their desks. If Ayano has a high reputation, she will smile when talked to, and she will also have the Girly persona. If Ayano has a regular or low reputation, Musume will frown.

In previous builds, the player could kidnap her and hold her for ransom as part of a side story involving Kokona Haruka. After being kidnapped, she would become nervous, paranoid, and traumatized for life, taking on the Coward persona. She could not seek help as she had drug-induced amnesia.^[4]

YandereDev also states that Musume talks behind people's backs, humiliates people she dislikes, and would backstab(gossip or ruin) her best friend in a heartbeat if she got something out of it.^[5]

If Ayano and Kokona Haruka ever teamed up to kidnap Musume, she would openly mock and make fun of Kokona and her father upon hearing her voice despite being tied up and blindfolded.^[6]

According to YandereDev, Musume is a bully because her father spoiled her so much that she gained no concept of empathy. She sees other people as lesser beings for her to toy with however she pleases. As such, she does not even see her actions as wrong whatsoever. ^[7]

Routine[]

At 7:10 A.M., Musume enters the school grounds with the other bullies. She walks to her locker at 7:15 A.M. and changes her shoes. At 7:20 A.M. she will walk around the plaza with her phone out, stopping briefly in front of each of the four doors leading out of the plaza. If at least one student has a reputation below -33, she and the other bullies will go to the desk of the student with the lowest reputation and write hateful messages on their desk before continuing on with their routines.

At 8:00 A.M., Musume walks into Classroom 3-2 and sits at her desk. She starts her morning classes at 8:30 A.M., and leaves to go to the pool to sunbathe with her friends at 1:00 P.M. If a student is being targeted for bullying, she will go to their desk and clap two blackboard erasers over their head while the other bullies laugh before the group goes to sunbathe. If the pool is closed, she and the other bullies will go and eat instead. Musume walks back to class again at 1:30 P.M. Between 3:30 P.M and 4:30 P.M., she will gossip in the haunted girl's bathroom with the rest of the bullies instead of participating in Cleaning Time. At 4:30 P.M., she will continue patrolling the plaza.

On the Friday of Osana Najimi's week, at 7:15 A.M., she will have a conversation with Osana about what boys she likes. Recording this conversation is used to perform the Rejection elimination on Osana.

After the player completes Gema Taku's task, she and the other bullies will gaze at him during lunchtime instead of sunbathing at the pool.

In previous builds, after being kidnapped, Musume would sit alone on a plaza bench instead of bullying or gossiping.

Background[]

Musume's father runs a shady loan agency called Rokuda Loans. Her father exploited the situation Kokona's father was in to place him into even deeper debt. In the story, her mother is dead.^[8]

Task[]

Musume will complain about Horuda Puresu being even creepier than the Occult Club members. Musume will wonder where Horuda goes when she's alone and not in class. She then will ask the player to take a photograph of Horuda's hiding spot, so she can "spill the tea".^[9]

Musume's father spoils her to an extreme level, but she isn't grateful for anything she's been given, only using her father to get whatever she wants.

It's clear that Musume's father loves his daughter more than anything. In the past, if Musume was kidnapped, he would have no choice but to release all of his clients from debt in order to get her back "in one piece".

Bugs[]

If she is kidnapped and brought to school on Friday and the player tells her to kill Osana right before their event, it will cause a bug where Musume doesn't attack Osana and the event happens, but everyone will treat Osana as if she is dead, and will be stuck staring at her. This will prevent the player from going to class, and if the day ends, Osana will still confess her feelings.

Trivia[]

Musume was implemented in the June 1st, 2016 Build.
Musume's first appearance was very similar to the character Galko-chan from the anime and manga, Please Tell Me! Galko-chan.
- The first design was changed because Galko-chan is a copyrighted character.^[10]
Musume was shown in a sneak preview.^[11]
Her nickname is a play on words. Musume (娘) means "daughter", while "loan shark" when transcribed into Japanese katakana is rōnshāku (ローンシャーク). Therefore, her full name translated to English is "Daughter Loanshark".
Her real name is Mutsumi Rokuda as of the July 1st, 2020 build.
- Her real first name, Mutsumi, means "intimate, friendly, harmonious" (mutsu, 睦) and "beauty" (mi, 美).
  - Her real surname, Rokuda, means "six" (roku, 六) and "rice paddy" (ta/da, 田).
Musume's design seems to be heavily inspired by Ganguro Girls, a subculture in Japan that was popular during the 90s.
- Musume's hair colour in the game files is listed as 'Ganguro'.
After being kidnapped and released, Musume will walk slowly with her hands clasped in front of her, similar to Oka Ruto.
- Previously, pressing K in the debug menu at school would cause her to appear as a mind slave, whilst on fire, dripping with water, and covered in steam clouds.
Musume has not actually smoked before and only pretends to, as so to give herself an image, giving a reason as to why she holds the cigarette the wrong way.^[12]

If her name followed the same naming scheme for the other Bullies, her first name would be Chouchou (蝶々) or Chouko (蝶子), both meaning "butterfly".
She is YandereDev's favourite bully.^[13]
She was the first student to pose in her portrait.

On her phone, the player can see comments from Shiromi Torayoshi and Hoshiko Mizudori.
Before the September 15, 2019 build, Musume had a task relating to cigarettes, but it was changed due to it being the same as Hayanari Tsumeato's task.
If Horuda Puresu is dead or kidnapped, then Musume's original task will be unavailable to the player.
If Musume is dead or kidnapped, her event with Osana Najimi on Friday will not happen.
- An exception is that if she is kidnapped and then brought to school on Friday, her event will still happen.
She called Kokona a "skank" and a "slut", which infuriated Kokona enough for her to fly into a murderous rage in "Driving Your Rivals to Murder".
In the May 19th, 2021 build, Musume's nails and hair model were updated, but her portrait didn't reflect her new hair model until the June 15th, 2021 build.
Musume feels superiour to others.
If Musume's mother hadn't died, she would never become a bully due to her father stepping up and both parents raising her together, instead of one parent.^[14]
- In the same thread, YandereDev says that if Musume ever feels any piece of envy towards anyone, she would say or do something cruel to them, just to make herself feel better.
