Gema Taku, (real name: Gema Takagaki) is one of the male students who currently attends Akademi. He is the president and founder of the Gaming Club.

Appearance[]

Gema wears the default school uniform unless customized by the player.

He has short, spiky, dark navy blue hair with a ponytail down the left side. He wears a pair of headphones, circular glasses, a red bandana, and is holding a gaming device. He wears the "Red Armband of Leadership" with a resemblance of a gaming controller on his left arm.

If his task is completed, the next day, he will change to a drastically different appearance: his hair will be in a smoother ponytail, his posture will be fixed and straightened when standing/playing videogames, he will be clean-shaven, the bandana will be gone, and his glasses will be different.

Personality[]

When he's not playing video games, talking about video games, writing about video games, reading about video games, trying to develop video games, listening to video game soundtracks, or watching video game streams, then he's probably miserable and wishing that he was playing a video game instead of whatever he's doing. A portable gaming system is almost always in his hands, and he has been caught playing games in class numerous times.
He is completely unable to relate to other people who don't play video games, and has zero interest in conversing about any other topic. His strong desire to find like-minded individuals was what led him to form the Gaming Club. His club application was denied by the school, but he still operates an unofficial club in the Computer Lab anyway. The other students of the school acknowledge his club as a 'real club', even if the school faculty does not.
Aside from his passion for gaming, he is also known for being very difficult to get along with. He becomes irritated very easily, is a very sore loser when playing competitive games, and generally has a very poor attitude. His antisocial nature has caused him to experience a lot of teasing and bullying, so he prefers to remain in the school's computer lab during most hours of the day. The few people who have managed to become friends with him have observed that he secretly has a very strong desire for the approval of others.

— Description from Official Website.
Leader of the Gaming Club. Completely obsessed with anime and video games, and has no other interests or hobbies. Has a somewhat abrasive personality; very few students at school can tolerate him.

— Description from Info-chan.
GemaPose

Gema hiding his face.

Among the personas that are currently implemented in the game, Gema is a Loner. If he sees a corpse or witnesses a murder, he will run home and call the police. He cannot participate in physical fights against murderers. Due to him having the Loner persona, he will hide his face if Ayano aims her phone at him.

Routine[]

At 7:00 AM, Gema enters the school grounds. He walks to his locker at 7:05 AM and changes from his outdoor shoes to his indoor shoes. At 7:15 AM, he walks to the Gaming Club on the second floor and plays games.

At 8:00 AM, he walks to Classroom 3-2 and sits at his desk. He starts his morning classes at 8:30 AM, and leaves to go back to the Gaming Club at 1:00 PM. However, in Mission Mode, at Lunchtime, he will eat his bento at the outside of the Gaming Club, making it easier to poison him.

He walks back to class again at 1:30 PM and participates in cleaning time between 3:30 PM and 4:00 PM. Afterwards, he heads to the Gaming Club and stays there until the end of the day.

If the Gaming Club is disbanded, he will play a handheld game alone outside of the clubroom.

Task[]

Main article: Tasks
GemaTask2019

Gema's task description. August 18th, 2018.

Gema Taku doesn't understand why women avoid and ignore him. Ask Musume and her friends what they dislike about Gema.

The player can complete this task by asking the bullies and tell them what the bullies dislike of Gema. After Gema's task is completed, Gema will go to the boys' locker room and change his appearance.

His task will only available before 8:00 AM, and if at least one bully is dead or after class time, his task will not be given to Ayano.

Trivia[]

  • YandereDev decided not to include his silhouette in the "Osana Progress Report and Mission Mode Update" video, as he looked as if he was holding something other than a gaming device.[2]
  • Gema's name literally means "Gaming Otaku" or "Game Otaku" in Japanese, Gema being "Gamer," and "Taku" being a play on words for "Otaku", an insult in Japan for a geek.
  • His parents are disappointed in him.[3]
  • If the player removes his glasses by using Pose Mode or complete his task before the September 3rd, 2018 Build, the player can see that he has red eyes. After that build, they are the same color as his hair.
  • Besides Musume and the bullies, he also has some sort of crush on various anime characters, a new one every week, exactly.[4]
  • Between anime and games, he prefers games.[4]
  • His favorite color is black, and his favorite food is whatever he can stuff into his face as quickly as possible so he can get back to playing video games.[4]
  • He is the only member in the Gaming Club who has the Loner persona, while the others have the Phone Addict persona.
  • He, along with Osana, Kokoro, Kyuji, and Miyuji, are the only students to change their appearance after an event.
  • Out of all the Bullies, it is likely that he will end up with Kashiko. [5]
  • Gema can be angered quickly, and often rude.

Quotes[]

Why are you interrupting me?!

— Speaking to him while he's inside the clubroom.
Quit talking to me, I'm trying to focus!

— Leaving the conversation while he's inside the club room.
Can't you tell what our club is about just from the name alone?! Do you have brain damage or something?! Or did you just come here to look down on us because we have a different hobby than you? I'll have you know that there many are benefits to playing video games! Games can develop your hand-eye coordination, put you into a different frame of mind, and even teach you new things! In other words, the benefit of joining my club is the ability to boost one of your stats for the rest of the day! ...hmm, sounds totally imbalanced...it'll probably get nerfed in the next patch!

— Asking him more information about his club.
You don't meet the level requirement for joining my guild! ...but I GUESS I could let you in anyway...

— Asking to join his club.
Okay. You're in. Just TRY not to make too much noise! I'm concentrating over here!

— Joining the club.
Wow. I tried to be nice, and you threw it in my face. What a jerk!

— Refusing to join his club.
What's the matter? Think you're too good for us?!

— Asking to leave.
Fine. Go on. Get outta here. Leave! We don't need you, anyway!

— Leaving the club.
Why would you even bring up the subject if you didn't actually intend to leave? It's like you're testing all of my dialogue options just to hear my voiced lines, or something. Weirdo.

— Refusing to leave.
You here for the raid? The boss doesn't spawn until 5:00 PM! Come back later. But before 5:30.

— Trying to join the club activity before it starts.
It's time, it's time! The boss is here! You ready?!

— Asking to join the club activity.
I'm uh, coming' up with uh, thirty-two-point-three-three, uh...repeating, of course, uh, percentage of survival.

— Participating in the club activity.
Seriously?! We can't wait all day, hurry up!

— Refusing to join the club activity.
You missed it! It's over! The boss is already dead! Slowpoke. Be here before 5:30 next time!

— Trying to join the club activity after it ends.
So, you've come crawling back on your hands and knees, BEGGING me to let you join the club again? Ha! That's rich. ...I'm not letting you back in, though. Filthy normie!

— Trying to rejoin the club after leaving.
If you want to class-change, you need to leave your current guild, Er, club - I meant to say club.

— Trying to join the club when Ayano is already a member of another club.
Holy crap! You seriously pissed someone off. Look you're causing too much trouble, I can't let you be part of this club anymore. Don't take it personal just. Get outta here.

— When a clubmember sees you murder someone.
One of my clubmembers keeps telling me that they saw you KILL someone. Like they say you straight up MURDER somebody. They just flip out if I let you join so, you just can't.

— Trying to join after a clubmember saw you killing someone.
Are you serious?! ...I saw you literally MURDER someone in cold blood right in front of my FACE! You can't just pretend like everything is normal! This isn't a video game! Get away from me, you freak!

— Speaking to him after he has witnessed Ayano commit murder.
Ugggggh...it's really embarassing to talk about this sort of thing, but...I'm never going to solve this problem on my own, so, ahhhhh, I'm just gonna come right out and say it! You know those five tan girls who are always on their phones? I wanna...ask one of them out on a date. But, they all seem to hate me! They avoid me and ignore me whenever I try to talk to them! I-if I did something wrong, I have no clue what it was! So, I was wondering...could you maybeeee, uh, talk to those girls, and, uhhhhh, ask them what they think of me? I just want to know if I can salvage things.

— Gema asking Ayano to help him find out why Musume and her friends dislike him.
...really? ...you'd help me with that? That's...thank you.

— Accepting his task.
Ugh, why did I even bother?! I should have known it would be stupid to bring this up...

— Refusing his task.
...glasses? ...hair? ..posture? Really?! A bunch of superficial stuff like that?! I, I didn't realize that could be such a big deal. Anyway, thanks for letting me know.

— Completing his task.
