Etsuko Hayashibara is one of the female students who attended Akademi in 1980s Mode.
Appearance[]
Current[]
Etsuko has blonde hair that's buzzed cut on the back and right side of her head. Her bangs are swept to the left, save for two strands hanging loose on the right, and reach her chin, partially covering her left eyebrow and eye. She has blue eyes.
She wears the default 1980s uniform with a blue and white Saikou cassette player attached to her waist.
Previous[]
Before the January 17th 2022 Build, she had upper-back-length ginger hair, with two strands resting on her collar. Her bangs were held in place by two black hairpins. Her eyes were dull green
In the July 2nd 2022 Build, her hairpins were moved to each side of her head and her eyes were made green.
Before the January 5th 2024 Build, her hair was light orange, her hairpins were purple, she had freckles on her cheeks and her eyes were light green.
Before the October 21st, 2024 Build, her left bangs were held by a teal butterfly hairpin.
Personality[]
The fastest runner in all of Akademi. Shattered speed records set by other young women her age. Hopes to someday represent Japan in the Summer Olympics as a track and field runner.
Among the personas that are currently implemented in the game, Etsuko is Heroic. If she only sees a corpse, she will act upon the Teacher's Pet persona. If she sees Ryoba commit murder, she will run up to her and fight her.

Week 1 and 4[]
At 7:05 AM, Etsuko enters the school grounds. She walks to her locker at 7:10 AM and changes from her outdoor shoes to her indoor shoes. At 7:15 AM, she heads into the Gymnasium to warm up, then will run on the Track. At 8:00 AM, Etsuko walks into Classroom 1-2 and sits at her desk. She starts her morning classes at 8:30 AM, and leaves to go eat lunch with the other club members at the sports area.
Etsuko walks back to class again at 1:30 PM and participates cleaning time between 3:30 PM and 4:00 PM. After that, she heads to the swimming pool and practices there until the end of the day.
If the Sports Club disbands, she will still run on the track.

Week 2[]
At 7:00 AM, Etsuko enters the school grounds with the other members of the Sports Club. She walks to the locker room at 7:05 AM and changes from her outdoor shoes to her indoor shoes. After doing so, she will quickly run upstairs to the second floor and read by the Art Clubroom.
At 8:15 AM, Etsuko will run to Classroom 1-2 and sits at her desk and starts her morning classes at 8:30 AM. Afterwards, she leaves to go eat lunch with the other club members at the sports area.
Then, she runs back to class again at 1:23 PM and participates in cleaning time between 3:30 PM and 4:00 PM. At 4:00 PM, she will head outside and do some stretches with the other Sports Club members. But will not run on the track.
On Thursday, she will not participate during cleaning time and will instead head straight to the gymnasium to do her stretches till the end of the day.
Week 3[]
At 7:00 AM, Etsuko enters the school grounds with the other members of the Sports Club. She walks to the locker room at 7:05 AM and changes from her outdoor shoes to her indoor shoes. After doing so, she will quickly run outside to sit down and read by the Swimming Pool.
At 8:15 AM, Etsuko will run to Classroom 1-2 and sits at her desk and starts her morning classes at 8:30 AM. Afterwards, she leaves to go eat lunch with the other club members at the sports area.
Then, she runs back to class again at 1:23 PM and participates in cleaning time between 3:30 PM and 4:00 PM. At 4:00 PM, she will head outside and do some stretches with the other Sports Club members. But will not run on the track.
On Thursday, she will not participate during cleaning time and will instead head straight to the gymnasium to do her stretches till the end of the day.
On Friday, she will instead read outside of the Headmaster's Office.
Week 5[]
At 7:05 AM, Etsuko enters the school grounds. She walks to her locker at 7:10 AM and changes from her outdoor shoes to her indoor shoes. At 7:15 AM, she heads into the gymnasium to warm up, but will not run on the track.
At 8:00 AM, Etsuko walks into Classroom 1-2 and sits at her desk. She starts her morning classes at 8:30 AM, and leaves to go eat lunch with Daizo Momose at the sports area.
Etsuko walks back to class again at 1:30 PM and participates cleaning time between 3:30 PM and 4:00 PM. After that, she heads to the outside of the Counselor's Office to sit down and read, and stays there till the end of the day.
On Thursday, she will not participate during cleaning time and will instead sit down and read till the end of the day.
Week 6[]

At 8:15 AM, Etsuko will run to Classroom 1-2 and sits at her desk and starts her morning classes at 8:30 AM. Afterwards, she leaves to go eat lunch with the other club members at the sports area.
Then, she runs back to class again at 1:23 PM and participates in cleaning time between 3:30 PM and 4:00 PM. At 4:00 PM, she will head outside and do some stretches with Fuyumi Tachiki and Daizo. But will not run on the track.

Etsuko will quickly rush to her locker and change into her shoes at 7:00 AM. After doing so, she will quickly heads upstairs and read outside of the Foreign Studies Room.
At 8:15 AM, Etsuko will run to Classroom 1-2 and sits at her desk and starts her morning classes at 8:30 AM. Afterwards, she leaves to eat her lunch on the east side stairs leading up to the second floor.
Afterwards, she runs back to class again at 1:28 PM and participates in cleaning time between 3:30 PM and 4:00 PM. At 4:00 PM, she will head outside to sit down and read by the Gymnasium, and stays there until the end of the day.
On Thursday, she will not participate during cleaning time and will instead sit down and read till the end of the day.

- The "etsu" part of her name, Etsuko, can be written as "ecstasy, joy" (悦) or "flower/superior, harbor" (英津). The "-ko" (子) is a common suffix in Japanese feminine names which means "child"
- Her surname, Hayashibara, means "forest" (hayashi, 林) and "meadow, field" (hara/bara/wara, 原).
