Electrocution is a lethal method to eliminate students in Yandere Simulator. In most cases, it will not leave any evidence towards the player.
Gameplay[]
- Main article: Corpses
Since there is no open wound on the corpse, the player doesn't have to worry about cleaning up blood, but to avoid a police investigation, the corpse must be disposed of. Ayano can hide it in a bathroom stall or bury it to go to class without a teacher finding the corpse. If Ayano does not dispose of the body, the School Atmosphere will decrease by twenty points.
The police finding an electrocuted corpse.
If the police arrive at school before the body is disposed of, they will know that the victim was electrocuted and treat their death as murder. They will then try to search for any corpses or weapons on school grounds. If no other corpses or weapons are found, they will leave since they do not have enough evidence to perform an arrest. If weapons and corpses are found, the game will treat the other deaths as homicide cases and will begin to look for evidence for all the other deaths, along with the electrocuted corpse.
Water Fountains[]
- Main article: Drinking Fountain
The first and simplest method of electrocution can be performed on most of the students. To start, the protagonist must acquire a Pipe Wrench from one of the school's storage rooms. She then must head to any water fountain in the school and sabotage the pipes from underneath. This will result in a leak, forming a puddle of water beneath the fountain.
Next, she must get a power strip, which can be found in the Audio/Visual Room. The power strip can be plugged into any outlet, located next to the drinking fountain. After plugging the strip in, she must use a screwdriver to expose its wire. Flipping the switch on the wall near the outlet will activate the power strip with the exposed wires, causing the puddle of water it is in to become electrified, resulting in one victim to be electrocuted if they step on it. The protagonist herself can also be electrocuted by the electrified puddle, leading to a comatose, therefore she must not step into the puddle and should take precautions such as flipping the switch last or wearing a raincoat made of rubber.
Lastly, she must head to the vending machines in the Cafeteria and purchase a bag of Chips, labeled as a "Salty Snack". She can offer the Chips to any student, except for the Student Council, the Delinquents, Kenko Sukoyaka, Banri Masayuki, Osana Najimi, Sumiko Tachibana, Ritsuko Chikanari, and Chigusa Busujima, who will refuse to eat the snack all for different reasons. The player must only offer the bag of Chips to the student they wish to electrocute. After they eat the Chips, they'll become thirsty and will head to the nearest drinking fountain. If the fountain has been tampered with correctly, then when the student steps into the puddle to drink water, they'll perform a "being shocked" animation, before falling onto the ground.
Bathrooms[]
- Main article: Bathrooms
Alternatively, the player can electrocute any student who goes inside a bathroom using the same method, by creating a leak under the sink, plugging in a sabotaged power strip, and turning on the light switch. As with the other method, precautions should also be taken towards the electrified water puddle. When the student leaves the stall and walks over to the sink to wash their hands, they will be electrified. Students won't use the bathroom unless the player puts emetic poison in their lunch. Unlike the other method, Kenko and the delinquents can be electrocuted with this method, as they all eat lunch and can be poisoned, sending them to the bathroom.
Gema Taku, Miyuji Shan, and the Student Council do not eat lunch in Story Mode, and thus can be electrocuted through this method only in Mission Mode.
Car Battery[]
- Main article: Car Battery
You can also electrocute a character by putting a car battery into a water puddle the character stepped into. There are several ways to create a puddle and lure a character into it:
- Spill water from a bucket on floor and then place a suspicious object in the puddle, or place a radio in the puddle and turn it on. Note: this is the only way to kill any character, including faculty members, with a car battery.
- Come near a drinking fountain with a pipe wrench and press Sabotage, then give a student a salty snack so they will go drinking from the sabotaged fountain. When the student tries to drink, they will be splashed by water, and a line of puddles will appear underneath them.
- Fill Water Cooler with water and create a tripwire trap with a spool of thread, masking tape and any sharp weapon. Once a student gets into the trap, they will be splashed and a line of puddles appears underneath them. Note: if a student sees you create a tripwire trap, your Reputation will decrease by 10 points.
When a student stands in a puddle, the player must step nearby the puddle and toss the car battery into it, so the victim will be electrocuted. Any character who sees the protagonist dropping the battery (and who is not electrocuted by it) will react as a witness of murder.
Once the battery gets into water, it will decompose several seconds later, so it can only be used once per day.
Ai Doruyashi[]
Ai Doruyashi is the sixth rival in 1980s mode, and has a rival-specific elimination method involving electrocution. Every day before school and after cleaning time, Ai performs a song in the school gymnasium. For this elimination method, the player must fill a bucket with water (the closest one is in the Swimming Pool) and dump it behind the microphone on the gymnasium stage. Then, the player must acquire a power strip (from the Audio/Visual Room) and a screwdriver (brought from home or found in Workshop), return to the school gymnasium, plug the power strip into the light and sound board backstage, and sabotage it with the screwdriver. The player must wait until Ai is standing over the puddle of water during her show, and then toggle the electricity. Ai will be electrocuted and killed.
If the player does this correctly, Ai's death will be considered an accident. This is her canonical elimination method.
Trivia[]
- Electrocution through Kokona Haruka's scripted event was added in the August 12th, 2015 Build and removed in the May 22nd, 2019 Build. Electrocution through the water fountain was added in the February 1st, 2019 Build, and electrocution in bathrooms were added in the January 1st, 2020 Build.
- Although the method to set the target for electrocution cannot be done by the Student Council and faculty (and some other students depending on the method chosen), the trigger for death is stepping in the electrified puddle and not any specific event such as interacting with the water fountain or sink. Thus, if the player somehow manages to make a character step in the electrified puddle without sending them to the water fountain or sink the normal way, such as leaving something they will attempt to look and walk to in the puddle (e.g. weapons), or moving them there and releasing them in Pose Mode, they will still die.
- Notably, this can be used to electrocute faculty members without any sort of cheating, as they run to the first corpse that they see. If a student is electrocuted and their body is not moved, when a faculty member discovers them they will step into the puddle while approaching the body and can be electrocuted as well.
- A chain of puddles electrocutes anyone who steps into any of the puddles, allowing the player to electrocute the faculty and the student council members.
- However, if the protagonist throws a car battery into a chain of puddles, some victims may survive, because the battery decomposes quickly. With that said, using a power strip is a better option to kill multiple characters in one chain of puddles.
- If a majority of rivals are "accidentally" electrocuted (or murdered with him knowing the aftermath), Senpai will worry that he is cursed[1] and may refuse Ayano's confession, fearing her death.
- If Ayano pours blood or gasoline instead of water on a student, they will still die the same way, but with different voiced lines when the liquid is poured on them.
- Gasoline does not cause an explosion when in contact with electricity.
- This is YandereDev's favorite elimination method.[2]
- It has not been confirmed nor denied if the player will be able to electrocute a student in the Shower Room.[3]
- Even though it was impossible to electrocute Kenko Sukoyaka in this method (as he rejects a Salty Snack from the player, meaning that he can't be electrocuted), there are other possible ways to eliminate Kenko by other methods of electrocution:
- The player can put emetic poison into his bento at lunchtime, create the leaking sink, then use a power strip, and he will be electrocuted.
- The player can distract him with the radio, then Kenko will turn off the radio while he steps through the puddle, and then the player can electrocute him.
- Ayano can watch a Life Note anime to learn how to electrocute someone. The episode shows the player what to do with the pipe wrench, power strip and switch at the water fountain (or bathroom sink, which uses the same method).
- If Ayano steps in the electrified water, she will not die instantly. Instead, she will go into a coma, resulting in the "Comatose" Game Over.
- Electrocution via the stage is the canonical elimination method of Ai Doruyashi.
