Dozuki Aishi Quotes

Dozuki Aishi is the 9th generation Aishi of the "Saw branch" of the Aishi Family, the mother of Ryoba and her sister and the grandmother of Ayano Aishi.

Appearance[]

1989[]

Dozuki has wavy, mid-back-length black hair with bangs that completely cover her forehead, styled with a neat white headband. She has black eyes and wrinkles under her eyes, which are a sign of tiredness or old age.

She wears a short-sleeved red blouse with white accents around the collar and buttons, a knee-length black pleated skirt, and black panties with Prussian blue polka-dots. Over this, she wears a white apron tied with a red ribbon, featuring a small front pocket and delicate red rose designs on one side. She also wears black heeled shoes.

In her illustration, she dons a wedding ring with a diamond as the gemstone on her left ring finger.

1968[]

Dozuki has the same hairstyle as in 1989. The wrinkles on her face are the only exception.

She wears a long-sleeve navy seifuku with white accents and a gold bead on her tie. The collar has a single navy blue stripe running along its edge. There are white stripes that are also visible on the cuffs of the sleeves.

Her outfit consists of a knee-length navy skirt with three white horizontal stripes near the hem, black tights, and black outdoor shoes. She is seen smirking while striking a pose. Her stockings and shoes are similar to those of her second granddaughter.

Previous[]

Before the October 12th, 2024 build, her in-game panties were fully black.

Personality[]

Dozuki Aishi was born in 1950 to a pair of extremely wealthy parents. Dozuki's mother worked a highly-demanding job that required her to frequently travel overseas for long periods of time, which caused her to be absent for most of Dozuki's childhood. Dozuki's mother tried to compensate for her lengthy absences by spoiling her daughter as much as possible whenever she had the opportunity; she showered Dozuki with gifts and praise as often as possible, and never said "no" to anything that her daughter requested. As a result, Dozuki developed into a very spoiled young woman who was accustomed to having everything she wanted handed to her on a silver platter without ever working for it.

Like all other members of her bloodline, Dozuki is afflicted with the "Aishi Condition," a disorder which causes her to feel a perpetual sensation of emptiness, as if something crucial is missing from her life. In 1967, while attending high school, Dozuki came into physical contact with a young man whose presence could mysteriously alleviate the symptoms of her condition. Dubbing this young man her "Senpai," Dozuki was determined to turn him into her lifelong companion - however, there were other girls vying for his attention, and Dozuki had no experience with romance. It appeared as though wooing this young man would require hard work, which Dozuki was firmly opposed to.

As usual, Dozuki went crying to her mother and begged her for a solution. By this point in time, Dozuki's mother had retired from her highly-demanding job, and could afford to spend all of her time (and vast fortune) doting on her daughter. She decided that the most efficient way to fulfill Dozuki's needs was to kidnap her Senpai, break his spirit, and turn him into a sort of "pet." To accomplish this, she would need two things: time and privacy. After considering all of her options, she ultimately she reached the conclusion that the only way to accomplish her goal in complete secrecy would require an addition to her house: a basement.

In Japan, homes typically do not have basements due to earthquake concerns, flooding risks, and cultural preferences. Dozuki did not wish for local authorities to be aware that she was adding a basement to her home - since it would only be used for illegal purposes and could be a liability for her in the event of a police investigation - and so it was constructed in complete secrecy with the assistance of foreigners who were paid handsomely to stay silent about what they were building. Despite the numerous difficulties in accomplishing this task, the basement was constructed within a year's time. Immediately after its completion, Dozuki's Senpai was kidnapped and imprisoned there.

During the 1800s, one of Dozuki's ancestors discovered a torture technique that could "break" a person mentally. The technique does not involve physical pain; it would be most accurate to describe it as a form of hypnosis. The Aishi hypnotizes the victim into thinking that they are experiencing various types of extreme physical torture; having their fingernails torn out, having every bone in their body broken one by one, having their organs removed from their torso, being lit on fire, being drowned, etc. In reality, absolutely nothing is happening to the victim. However, in the victim's mind, they are undergoing all of the most physically painful experiences imaginable.

Throughout this process, the Aishi is also doing something else - giving the victim hope that they can escape, and then yanking the hope away. The cycle of providing hope and squashing hope gradually conditions the victim to believe that there is no reason to consider resistance or imagine a better future. Once the victim is completely convinced that there is no hope, and that their life is already over, their mind enters a "malleable" state where they can be re-shaped into anything their captor wishes for them to be - even a pet. This is exactly what Dozuki did to her Senpai; she deliberately transformed him into a shell of a man with no will of his own - a "mind-broken slave."

With her mind-broken "husband" at her side, Dozuki's easy life continued as before; she lived as selfishly as possible, relied on her doting mother for all of her needs, and never worked a day in her life. In 1971, she gave birth to her first daughter, Ryoba. Dozuki had absolutely no interest in childrearing, and let her mother and husband raise the child, while doing only the bare minimum amount of work that was required of her. In 1976, she gave birth for the second and last time. Ryoba, who resented her mother for being lazy and selfish, and did not want to see her grandmother's workload increase, took it upon herself to care for her younger sister.

For many years, Dozuki, her mother, her father, her husband, and her two daughters all lived under the same roof. However, once Ryoba found her own "Senpai" and eventually brought him into their home, Dozuki decided that the house had become too crowded, and that it was time for a change. However, instead of simply kicking Ryoba and her soulmate out of the house, Dozuki decided to relocate to Tokyo. She - along with her parents, husband, and daughter - moved out of Buraza Town, leaving Ryoba and her Senpai alone together in their old house. Now residing in Tokyo, Dozuki continues to live comfortably and selfishly, with her elderly mother still taking care of all her needs.

— Dozuki's description from the official website.

Dozuki is neglectful of her two daughters,[2] with this being evident by the fact that her mother (Ryoba's grandmother) had to step in and raise Ryoba. Dozuki was also the laziest and most spoiled out of all the Aishis, as she begged her mom to build a basement, just to do minimal work (mindbreak her Senpai) and keep him as a pet. Because of her mother's enabling Dozuki's rotten behavior, the latter became devious and selfish.[3][4]

Dozuki did not kill anyone, but it was purely because she was lazy and thought it would be faster and more effective to simply kidnap and mind-break her Senpai rather than go through the trouble of murder. She could kill someone if she had to for self-defense, as she's similar to a normal human being with a strong sense of self-preservation.[5]

Her laziness is additionally shown on the official website, as her biggest weakness is "Hard Work." She was unable to perform any "yandere" actions on her own without the help of other relatives.[6] Additionally, her egoism can be shown, as she only values herself.[7]

Dozuki's favorite drinks are strawberry-flavored drinks.[8]

Background[]

Dozuki did not go to college, only finishing high school.[9] In school, she cheated in her assignments but did not receive help from others due to her behavior.[10]

Routine[]

Currently, she can be found in the Living Room in 1980s Mode, reading a book. Ryoba can interact with her, but it will always result in the same conversation.

In the future, Dozuki will relocate to other parts of the house and offer a new conversation every day.[11]

Relationships[]

Main article: Aishi Family
  • Extended family: Dozuki's family members consider her to be an "asshole."[12] In the Aishi Family family gatherings at Tokyo, Dozuki does not interact a lot with the other Aishi Family members.[13]
  • Her parents: Kataba's job as a CIA agent required her to be out of Japan for long periods of time, which caused her to be absent for most of Dozuki's childhood. She tried to compensate for her lengthy absences by spoiling her daughter as much as possible, which caused Dozuki to grow into a spoiled young woman who was accustomed to having everything she wanted handed to her on a silver platter without ever working for it. Dozuki never murdered anyone or worked a day in her life, she leeched off of her wealthy parents.[6] When Kataba was away, Torahiko took care of her.[14] He tried to raise his daughter right, but he didn't really know how, and trying to instill her with positive personality traits didn't really work, since Kataba spoiled Dozuki so much.[15]
  • Her two daughters: Dozuki didn't care about her daughters and left the responsibility of caring for them entirely to her mother, Kataba, after both girls were born. YandereDev revealed that Dozuki didn't care much about her children, as she focused on her own life instead of theirs.[6] She had her first child solely because she wanted to try out being a mother, as if it was a fashion accessory that can be removed at any point in time. The second time was unintentional, but she went with it because to her having a kid was an interesting change of pace that prevented her life from being boring and stagnant.[16] Although Ryoba respects her mother,[17] she harbors resentment towards Dozuki due to the latter's negligence in her childhood. Because Ryoba did not want to increase her grandmother's workload and burden her with caring for a newborn baby, she took responsibility for her younger sister when she was born. This made Ryoba loving towards her sister, and she even succeeded in her Akademi entrance exam to be a good example to her sister.[18] Ryoba's avoidance of being like her mother was so prevalent that she attempted to be extra attentive and loving to Ayano while raising the latter.[19] Ryoba remembers Dozuki as a lazy and worthless mother, but doesn't have any memories of her being physically abusive or dangerous to her or other children.[20] Additionally, Ryoba finds one of her rivals, Ritsuko Chikanari, distasteful as she shares a similar personality to Dozuki.[21]
  • Her two granddaughters: In hypothetical conversations with her two granddaughters, Dozuki would be extremely entitled with the two of them, demanding water and acting childish when Ayano is unable to respond quickly,[14] or if Ayano's Cousin mocks her for not doing it herself.[22] While Ayano's cousin's opinion of their grandmother is unknown, Ayano herself views Dozuki as a rude lady.[23]
  • Her husband: Dozuki came into physical contact with Subaru in 1968, and experienced that his presence could mysteriously alleviate the symptoms of her condition. She was determined to turn him into her lifelong companion; and decided that the most efficient way to fulfill her needs was to kidnap Subaru, break his spirit, and turn him into a sort of "pet." Her Senpai was mind-broken to love Dozuki unconditionally. When Ryoba was born, Dozuki left the responsibility of care to Sureibu, alongside her mother.

Trivia[]

  • Her name means "attached trunk" and comes from the Japanese saw, also known as a nokogiri. For precision, the Dozuki saw has a much thinner blade than the other Japanese saws.[24]
  • Dozuki was added to the official site on October 3rd, 2024.
  • Dozuki is the reason why the Aishi House has a basement.[25][6]
  • Dozuki is the only Aishi that canonically hasn't taken a human life.[26]
    • If she had "bloody" artwork, she would be holding a rope and chloroform.[27]
  • Before June 30th, 2025 build, if the player used PoseMod's "fly with camera" feature and moved the camera out of Ayano's/Ryoba's room, they could see Dozuki's model performing the "making food" animation.
    • Before the September 15th, 2024 build, the in-game model didn't have hair.
  • In the past, YandereDev said Dozuki in the final game may visit to help take care of her granddaughter and impart advice whenever she stops by.[28]
    • But considering Dozuki is lazy and arrogant, and Ayano is independently capable of managing, this probably won't happen. YandereDev also confirmed that he has currently no plans for her to appear in 202X Mode, only in 1980s Mode.[29]
  • If Dozuki had her mode like her daughter and second granddaughter did, the gameplay would last 5 minutes, as she kidnapped her Senpai instead of going through 10 rivals.[30]
  • Dozuki's favorite color is red.[31]
  • Dozuki will not affect or participate in the story.[32]
  • If Dozuki found a prisoner in her basement, she would find it understandable. Anything is justified if it's to alleviate the symptoms of the Aishi Condition.[33]
