Personality[]
Dozuki Aishi was born in 1950 to a pair of extremely wealthy parents. Dozuki's mother worked a highly-demanding job that required her to frequently travel overseas for long periods of time, which caused her to be absent for most of Dozuki's childhood. Dozuki's mother tried to compensate for her lengthy absences by spoiling her daughter as much as possible whenever she had the opportunity; she showered Dozuki with gifts and praise as often as possible, and never said "no" to anything that her daughter requested. As a result, Dozuki developed into a very spoiled young woman who was accustomed to having everything she wanted handed to her on a silver platter without ever working for it.
Like all other members of her bloodline, Dozuki is afflicted with the "Aishi Condition," a disorder which causes her to feel a perpetual sensation of emptiness, as if something crucial is missing from her life. In 1967, while attending high school, Dozuki came into physical contact with a young man whose presence could mysteriously alleviate the symptoms of her condition. Dubbing this young man her "Senpai," Dozuki was determined to turn him into her lifelong companion - however, there were other girls vying for his attention, and Dozuki had no experience with romance. It appeared as though wooing this young man would require hard work, which Dozuki was firmly opposed to.
As usual, Dozuki went crying to her mother and begged her for a solution. By this point in time, Dozuki's mother had retired from her highly-demanding job, and could afford to spend all of her time (and vast fortune) doting on her daughter. She decided that the most efficient way to fulfill Dozuki's needs was to kidnap her Senpai, break his spirit, and turn him into a sort of "pet." To accomplish this, she would need two things: time and privacy. After considering all of her options, she ultimately she reached the conclusion that the only way to accomplish her goal in complete secrecy would require an addition to her house: a basement.
In Japan, homes typically do not have basements due to earthquake concerns, flooding risks, and cultural preferences. Dozuki did not wish for local authorities to be aware that she was adding a basement to her home - since it would only be used for illegal purposes and could be a liability for her in the event of a police investigation - and so it was constructed in complete secrecy with the assistance of foreigners who were paid handsomely to stay silent about what they were building. Despite the numerous difficulties in accomplishing this task, the basement was constructed within a year's time. Immediately after its completion, Dozuki's Senpai was kidnapped and imprisoned there.
During the 1800s, one of Dozuki's ancestors discovered a torture technique that could "break" a person mentally. The technique does not involve physical pain; it would be most accurate to describe it as a form of hypnosis. The Aishi hypnotizes the victim into thinking that they are experiencing various types of extreme physical torture; having their fingernails torn out, having every bone in their body broken one by one, having their organs removed from their torso, being lit on fire, being drowned, etc. In reality, absolutely nothing is happening to the victim. However, in the victim's mind, they are undergoing all of the most physically painful experiences imaginable.
Throughout this process, the Aishi is also doing something else - giving the victim hope that they can escape, and then yanking the hope away. The cycle of providing hope and squashing hope gradually conditions the victim to believe that there is no reason to consider resistance or imagine a better future. Once the victim is completely convinced that there is no hope, and that their life is already over, their mind enters a "malleable" state where they can be re-shaped into anything their captor wishes for them to be - even a pet. This is exactly what Dozuki did to her Senpai; she deliberately transformed him into a shell of a man with no will of his own - a "mind-broken slave."
With her mind-broken "husband" at her side, Dozuki's easy life continued as before; she lived as selfishly as possible, relied on her doting mother for all of her needs, and never worked a day in her life. In 1971, she gave birth to her first daughter, Ryoba. Dozuki had absolutely no interest in childrearing, and let her mother and husband raise the child, while doing only the bare minimum amount of work that was required of her. In 1976, she gave birth for the second and last time. Ryoba, who resented her mother for being lazy and selfish, and did not want to see her grandmother's workload increase, took it upon herself to care for her younger sister.
For many years, Dozuki, her mother, her father, her husband, and her two daughters all lived under the same roof. However, once Ryoba found her own "Senpai" and eventually brought him into their home, Dozuki decided that the house had become too crowded, and that it was time for a change. However, instead of simply kicking Ryoba and her soulmate out of the house, Dozuki decided to relocate to Tokyo. She - along with her parents, husband, and daughter - moved out of Buraza Town, leaving Ryoba and her Senpai alone together in their old house. Now residing in Tokyo, Dozuki continues to live comfortably and selfishly, with her elderly mother still taking care of all her needs.
Dozuki is neglectful of her two daughters.[2] This was evident to the point where her mother (Ryoba's grandmother) had to step in and raise Ryoba. Dozuki was also the laziest and most spoiled out of all the Aishi's, as she begged her mom to build a basement, just to do minimal work (kidnap her Senpai) and keep him as a pet. Because of her mother enabling Dozuki's rotten behavior, the latter became devious and selfish.[3][4]
Dozuki did not kill anyone, but it was purely because she was lazy and thought it would be faster and more effective to simply kidnap and mind-break her Senpai rather than go through the trouble of murder. She *could* kill someone if she had to for self-defense, she’s similar to a normal human being with a strong sense of self-preservation.[5]
Her laziness is additionally shown on the official website, as her biggest weakness is "Hard Work". She was spoiled badly by her mother, which resulted in Dozuki not having any ability for murder/seduction techniques. She was unable to perform any "yandere" actions on her own without the help of other relatives.[6]
Relationships[]
Her Mother[]
Dozuki's mother worked a highly-demanding job that required her to frequently travel overseas for long periods, which caused her to be absent for most of Dozuki's childhood. She tried to compensate for her lengthy absences by spoiling her daughter as much as possible whenever she had the opportunity; she showered Dozuki with gifts and praise as often as possible, and never said "no" to anything that her daughter requested. As a result, Dozuki developed into a very spoiled young woman who was accustomed to having everything she wanted handed to her on a silver platter without ever working for it.
The mother realized that she should have raised Dozuki differently, and had a determination to not let Ryoba end up like Dozuki. As a result, Dozuki's mother slipped a lot of valuable knowledge of getting away with murder to Ryoba, causing the latter to develop her teaching process, which she later passed on to her daughter.[6]
Dozuki never murdered anyone or worked a day in her life, she leeched off of her wealthy parents.[6]
Her Father[]
When Dozuki's mother was away, her father took care of her. Unlike Dozuki, who mind-broke her Senpai, her mother did not mind-break her husband.[7]
Her Senpai[]
Dozuki came into physical contact with her Senpai whose presence could mysteriously alleviate the symptoms of her condition. She was determined to turn him into her lifelong companion, however, other girls were vying for his attention, and Dozuki had no experience with romance. It appeared as though wooing this young man would require hard work, which she was firmly opposed to.
She decided that the most efficient way to fulfill her needs was to kidnap her Senpai, break his spirit, and turn him into a sort of "pet." Her Senpai was mind broken to love Dozuki unconditionally.[8] When Ryoba was born, Dozuki left the responsibility of care to her mind-broken husband, alongside her mother.
YandereDev has yet to give Dozuki's Senpai a name.[9] However, he has given the hair color for the Senpai, which is pink.[10][11] This trait is also seen in the physical appearance of their unnamed younger daughter.[12] However, YandereDev has yet to confirm the color of the younger daughter's hair.[13]
Her Daughters[]
- Main articles: Ryoba Aishi, Ryoba's Sister
Dozuki didn't care about her daughters and left the responsibility of caring for them entirely to her mother when both girls were born. YandereDev revealed that Dozuki didn't care much about her children, as she focused on her own life instead of theirs.[6]
Although Ryoba respects her mother[14], she harbors resentment towards Dozuki due to the latter's negligence in her childhood. Because Ryoba did not want to increase her grandmother's workload and burden her with caring for a newborn baby, she took responsibility for her younger sister. This made Ryoba loving towards her sister and even succeeded in her Akademi entrance exam to be a good example to her sister.[15]
Ryoba's avoidance of being like her mother was so prevalent that she attempted to be extra attentive and loving to Ayano while raising the latter.[16]
Ryoba remembers Dozuki as a lazy and worthless mother but doesn't have any memories of her being physically abusive or dangerous to her or other children.[17]
Trivia[]
- Dozuki is the reason as to why the Aishi House has a basement.[18][6]
- Her name means "attached trunk" and comes from the Japanese saw, also known as a nokogiri. For precision, the Dozuki saw has a much thinner blade than the other Japanese saws.[19]
- If the player uses PoseMod's "fly with camera" feature and moves the camera out of Ayano's/Ryoba's room, they can see Dozuki's model.
- The model is performing the "making food" animation.
- As of the September 15th, 2024 build, the in-game model has hair. Previously, she didn't have any hair.
- YandereDev says she would be more like a background decoration than an interaction.[20]
- In the past, YandereDev said Dozuki in the final game may visit to help take care of her granddaughter and impart advice whenever she stops by.[21]
- But considering Dozuki is lazy and arrogant and Ayano is independently capable of managing, this probably won't happen.
- Dozuki did not go to college, only finishing high school.[22]
- She underwent training for a career she wanted, but said career did not involve going to college.[22]

Hey - what was your name, again? I'm thirsty.
Excuse you! I'm your elder!
You should show proper respect to your elders!
Tch! How could your mother have failed so miserably at raising you?!
What the hell is that supposed to mean?!
I don't have to put up with this kind of disrespect from a brat like you!
What the hell is a 'boomer'?
Hey Ryoba's kid. I'm thirsty.
Hello? Are you deaf? I said I'm thirsty.
Ugh...that was your cue to say, 'What kind of drink would you like me to get you, grandma?'
There's no point in repeating my words back to me! I'll just tell you: I want some water!
You'd better not be thinking of making a smartass remark like 'Well, if you want it, then go get it yourself, grandma.' You're not a bad girl, right?? Bad girls get spankings!
There we are. Good lass. Even though I should already have a drink in my hand by now...
