Diaries replace Social Media in 1980s mode, allowing the protagonist to learn the likes, dislikes and secrets of the rivals.
Gameplay[]
In 1980s Mode, the player has the opportunity to open the rivals' bookbags, in the bookbag, the player can read their diaries and they can learn their likes, dislikes, dark secret and embarrassing secret.
The likes and dislikes can be used for matchmaking, or interacting with the rival for additional reputation points. This can be used to matchmake Chigusa Busujima.
Her embarrassing secret can be used to bully her out of Akademi since it causes additional damage to her Reputation. This can be used to canonically eliminate Komako Funakoshi.
Her dark secret can be used to befriend or betray her in order to eliminate her from Senpai. This part (befriend only) is the canonical elimination for Sonoko Sakanoue.
Trivia[]
- Before September 15th, 2024, Ayano could also read Amai's diary, but it was identical to 1980s mode, so Yandere Dev replaced it with Social Media.
- Before the July 2nd, 2022 build, diaries used to be a blue screen with all the information, instead of pictures of an actual diary.
- Before January 5th, 2024, diaries were straightforward. Yandere Dev changed them to sound more natural.
- The Evil Photographer mentioned in all of the 1980s rivals' diaries is a man who sexually harassed the girls and held them hostage whenever each girl came to the asylum. He currently has naked photos of every one of Ryoba's rivals.
- Before the May 15th, 2024 build, Amai's dark secret could be seen in her diary, but the player should have never learned it from her diary, so YandereDev changed the dialogue.
