Borupen Saishiki Gallery
Borupen Saishiki (real name: Boru Sadatoshi) is one of the male students who currently attends Akademi.
Appearance[]
Borupen has short, black hair that is mostly parted to the left with a streak of hair on the right side hanging longer than the left. He has red eyes. Out of the rest of his club members, Borupen's height is in the middle amongst them.[2] His hair naturally takes its shape. His eye color and hair color are also natural.[3]
He wears the default school uniform with a black beret and a red pen behind his left ear unless customized by the player. The ballpoint pen that Borupen has is very special to him, as it used to belong to a famous horror artist that he likes.[4][5]
Personality[]
Borupen is fascinated by dark and morbid subjects, specifically death. He exclusively draws corpses, skeletons, skulls - anything and everything associated with death. This bizarre obsession makes others feel extremely uncomfortable around him, which leads to most people fearing him and avoiding him completely - but he seems perfectly fine with this, since he would prefer to be alone, brooding in a dark corner, obsessively sketching the last leaf falling from a dying tree, or something similar.
A brooding, melancholy boy who exclusively paints very dark and morbid subjects. Although his interests align with the Occult Club, he doesn't seem interested in joining them.

Among the personas that are currently in the game, Borupen is Spiteful. If he sees Ayano Aishi murder, or the corpse, of a student with a low reputation, or a student who is bullying him, he will be amused and compliment her on her crime, then run off in order not to be considered an accomplice. He will not talk to Ayano the next day after this happens. If he witnesses the murder or corpse of any other student, he will leave the school and call the police. If Ayano has her phone aimed at him, he will become annoyed and cover his face. He cannot participate in physical fights against murderers. If Ayano attempts to intimidate Borupen to follow her as a delinquent, he will be "immune" to the intimidation and refuse to comply with her request.
He is described as unfriendly and grumpy to everyone, even to his own family.[6] A hypothetical reaction to being slapped would outrage him and cause him to retaliate by slapping, no matter who the person is to him.[7]
The Bullies think that Borupen is a cringy boy that they'd love to bully. However, they worry that he is the type of person to snap and become violent if bullied. They tend to avoid bullying him (unless Ayano lowers his reputation).[8] Kokoro Momoiro thinks that he would retaliate if he were bullied, assuming he would plot his revenge and try to hurt the person who bullied him. She doesn't think of him as someone to cringe at and bully, but someone to avoid and stay away from.[9]
Routine[]
At 7:00 AM, Borupen enters the school grounds. He walks to his locker at 7:05 AM and changes from his outdoor shoes to his indoor shoes. At 7:15 AM, he walks to the outside of the Occult Club and sketches a skull.

At 8:00 AM, he then walks to Classroom 3-1, sits at his desk, and plays on his phone. He starts his morning classes at 8:30 AM, and leaves to go to the outside of the Art Club to eat his lunch at 1:00 PM.
He lastly walks back to class again at 1:30 PM and participates in cleaning time between 3:30 PM and 4:00 PM. Afterwards, he heads to the Art Club and works on a painting of a half-skeletal woman until the end of the day. On Friday afternoons, he and the other Art Club members will gather behind the cherry tree to paint something related to it. Borupen paints a dead cherry tree with a small "undead" type of figure standing in front of the tree.
If the Art Club is disbanded, he will still sketch the skull.

Miscellaneous[]
His preferences unrelated to gameplay include:
- Food preferences: His favorite food is grapes.[3] This is because he is interested in "dark things", and he considers purple as a dark color.[4][5]
- Though Borupen is not depressed, he's interested in dark and morbid subjects. He is particularly interested in death, especially how things look after they are dead: skeletons, dead trees with no leaves, etc. His only hobbies are art, the study of things that are dead, and philosophy relating to death.[3] Due to Borupen's edginess, the Death Demon's ritual reveals that he finds beauty in morbid subjects, such as death.
- His grades at school are slightly above average. He's mostly proficient at anything involving reading and writing.[3]
- He finds the topic of cosplay to be cringy and goofy.[10]
Relationships[]
Family[]
He has a strained relationship with his parents due to his unfriendly attitude; however, his parents see his worth and value as an artist and assume his behavior is just a temporary phase. They tolerate his bad attitude and do not see this as a reason to fight.[6]
Borupen's edgy personality and liking of "dark" things were because he wanted to rebel against his parents.[11] The root source of this rebellion was because Borupen's parents wanted him to be like his older brother, and pressured their youngest son to conform to one direction. Borupen decided to do the opposite of what his parents pressured him to originally be, as he doesn't want to be another replica of someone else.[12]
Borupen has an older brother who is different from him in almost every way: opposite personality, interests, etc.[3] Additionally, his older brother is slightly older and is most likely in college. His brother did not attend Akademi.[4][5] He also has this personality around his brother, as he is not warm or loving to him. Borupen's brother is described by YandereDev as a "happy and friendly person."[13]
Others[]
- Main article: Art Club
- Art Club Members: Borupen thinks that his fellow club members are obnoxious, but he has to endure them. He isn't interested in making friends at school.[3]
- Ayano Aishi: If the Aishi condition didn't exist or if Taro was not an option to Ayano, Borupen could develop an interest in her.[14]

- He and Himari Fujita are the only non-club leaders who have a different personality from their club members.
- His dominant hand is his right hand.[3]
- According to his hypothetical dialogue with Geiju Tsuka, Borupen has not mastered the concept of light and shadows, which prevented his painting from invoking a sense of horror, fear, unease, and "wrongness".
- The feedback from Geiju in this dialogue suggests to Borupen to have some contrast between his darkest and lightest colors to achieve what he was looking for. He even goes as far as to provide the exact keyword for Borupen's painting.[16]
- When outside of school, he wears all black casual clothes.[3]
- If he were to 'snap,' people would fear he would shoot up Akademi.[17]

Borupen: (Tense, hates being judged, is going to be annoyed if Geiju gives him harsh criticism.)
Geiju: ...chiaroscuro.
Borupen: ...huh? (He has never heard this word before.) What does that mean?
Geiju: (Adjusts his glasses) Google it...
Borupen: (Rolls his eyes) Can't you just tell me?
Geiju: High contast. Extreme dark. Extreme light. Creates...tension.
Borupen: ...oh....hmm...
...I'm not scared of you. You can't bully me into doing what you want.
