Beruma Dinkuri is one of the female students who currently attends Akademi.
Appearance[]
Current[]
Beruma has somewhat bobbed neck-length plum purple hair with side-swept bangs. She has moonstone blue eyes and small freckles dotted around her face. Her bust size is 1. She is 145 cm tall (4'9").[2]
School[]
She wears the default school uniform with congo brown, square-framed glasses and a Saikou camera around her neck unless customized by the player.
Outside[]
Beruma normally wears casual clothing when not in school.[3][4] She is similar to a "fujoshi" because of her lack of understanding of fashion, opting to wear something simple.
Home[]
At home, she wears large T-shirts and sweatpants.[5]
Previous[]
Before June 7th, 2018 Build, she had light orange hair, green eyes, and large green glasses.
Personality[]
Dafuni was Beruma's only friend throughout the rest of junior high and high school. Beruma's grades were always phenomenal, and Dafuni predicted a bright future for her. She suggested that Beruma apply for Akademi. Beruma said that she wouldn't apply if Dafuni wouldn't be there. Dafuni said that it was impossible - that there was no way she could possibly pass the notoriously difficult entrance exam.
Beruma's solution was to become Dafuni's tutor. Months of late-night study sessions followed. They took the entrance exam together, and with hearts pounding, checked their results at the same time: pass. They screamed, hugged, and celebrated not just getting into Akademi, but the fact that they would be spending the next few years together.
Dafuni cherished Beruma, but felt sad that she didn't have more friends. Beruma hated socializing with more than one person at a time, but Dafuni insisted that she would have to get over it and learn how to function in a group. So, after a lot of coaxing, Beruma agreed to join one of Akademi's clubs together with Dafuni, to gain more experience socializing with groups of people.
From there, it was a simple question: "Which club will be the most tolerant of us when we're gushing about our favorite manga?" When they saw Rojasu and Sukubi hauling a bunch of snacks and manga into the Photography Clubroom, they had their answer. To Beruma's relief, the boys of the Photography club were friendly and easy to get along with. They joined the club without a second thought.
This is how five incredibly different people all wound up in the same club - united by their bonds and by manga, rather than by any sort of love of photography. With that said, there *is* more to them than their shared hobby: they all feel a strong desire to be more like the heroes of their favorite stories. Crime-stoppers. Detectives. Mystery-solvers. Vigilantes.
For now, the school is peaceful, so their days are casual, easygoing, and laid-back. But, if anything should happen at school that endangers the safety of the students, the Photography Club is ready to put away their manga and snacks, pick up their cameras, and track down the culprit who is disturbing the peace.
One of the most hard-working and intelligent students in school. Can get so obsessed with studying that she forgets to take care of herself.
Her flaws are balanced by the strengths of her best friend, Dafuni Bureiku (and vice versa).

Among the personas that are currently implemented in the game, Beruma is a Sleuth. During the above 80% school atmosphere, if she sees Ayano Aishi committing murder, or sees a corpse, she will act upon the Social Butterfly persona.
If the school atmosphere is below 80%, she will react with the Phone Addict persona upon witnessing a murder or a corpse.
She will make a suspicious pose if Ayano points her phone at her, regardless of the school atmosphere.
Beruma would sacrifice her life to save a stranger's life if she had to choose.[6]
Her favorite color is the frames of her glasses, which are brown.[7]
Beruma's type of guy is simply someone who has similar interests to hers.[6]

At 7:00 AM, Beruma enters the school grounds. She walks to her locker at 7:05 AM and changes from her outdoor shoes to her indoor shoes. At 7:15 AM, she walks to the Photography Club on the third floor and chats with her club members.
At 8:00 AM, she walks to Classroom 1-1, sits at her desk, and plays on her phone. She starts her morning classes at 8:30 AM and leaves to go to the outside of the Photography Club to eat her lunch at 1:00 PM.
She walks back to class again at 1:30 PM and participates in cleaning time between 3:30 PM and 4:00 PM. Afterward, she heads to the Photography Club and stays there until the end of the day.
If the Photography Club is disbanded, she will socialize with the other former members outside of the club room during periods in which she would normally attend it.

At 7:00 AM, Beruma enters the school grounds. She walks to her locker at 7:05 AM and changes from her outdoor shoes to her indoor shoes. Afterward, she walks to the Home Ec Room to sit down and read.
At 8:15 AM, she walks to Classroom 1-1, sits at her desk, and plays on her phone. She starts her morning classes at 8:30 AM and leaves to go to the outside of the Photography Club to eat her lunch at 1:00 PM.
She walks back to class again at 1:30 PM and participates in cleaning time between 3:30 PM and 4:00 PM. Afterward, she heads to the Photography Club and stays there until the end of the day.
Below 80% Atmosphere[]
At 7:00 AM, Beruma enters the school grounds. She walks to her locker at 7:05 AM and changes from her outdoor shoes to her indoor shoes. At 7:15 AM, she walks to the Photography Club on the third floor. At 7:20 AM, she leaves the clubroom and investigates various students.
At 8:00 AM, she walks to Classroom 1-1, sits at her desk, and plays on her phone. She starts her morning classes at 8:30 AM and leaves to once again investigate various students at 1:00 PM.
She walks back to class again at 1:30 PM and participates in cleaning time between 3:30 PM and 4:00 PM. Next, she investigates more students from 4:00 to 5:00. Afterward, she heads to the Photography Club and stays there until the end of the day.

Photography Club[]
The members of the Photography Club, including Beruma, have similar personalities to the cast of Scooby-Doo, but they're not 100% identical.[3][4] If Ayano murders any of the latter above in front of Beruma, she will attempt to apprehend Ayano, despite being incapable of self-defense.
Rojasu thinks of Beruma as a "fujoshi" but still appreciates her as a friend.[6]
If Beruma and her friends found a bug under their desk, she would try to identify the species of the bug.[6]
Dafuni Bureiku[]

- She was implemented on June 1st, 2018 Build.
- Her name, appearance, and relationships are all references to the character Velma Dinkley from Scooby-Doo.
- Additionally, YandereDev claims that her name, along with the other members', is a fourth-wall-breaking reference and not an in-game reference.[3][4]
- She is the only sleuth who always has a suspicious pose if Ayano points her phone at her at the highest atmosphere level.
- She has a sister.[3][4]
- In the August 4th, 2025 build, her camera was updated, but her portrait wasn't updated until the September 1st, 2025 build.
