Basement Gallery
The basement is an area of the Aishi House used to keep anyone the protagonist has kidnapped.
The Basement Tapes can also be found in the corners of the room for each victim Ayano Aishi kidnaps.
Appearance[]
The atmosphere in the basement is very dark. The ground looks extremely worn-out and the walls expose water pipes. The staircase was replaced with a simple old wooden ladder and the lamp does not produce light anymore, the source of illumination in the basement is unknown. There are two steel bed frames and two new chairs that are more detailed, along with two poles. There are various tools to the far right of the room, including brooms, shovels, a big bike's wheel, another ladder, a radio, a few boxes, and some books sitting on a wooden shelf. There are also two non-functioning long lamps, a stool with a book on top, and an antique coal boiler.
First Appearance[]

First basement appearance with a kidnapped student.
The first basement was originally depicted being a bare, generic-looking basement with light gray walls and a dark gray floor. An extension cord can be seen on an upper beam. In the middle of the room, a metal pole is used to tie the kidnapped people. The stairs near the pole lead to the protagonist's bedroom. The protagonist could not physically walk up the stairs but rather use the HUD menu to enter the floor above.
Second Appearance[]

The second version of the basement.
This updated appearance was given a darker and more eerie atmosphere and bowed beams on all of the walls. A staircase leading back upstairs is located at the far left corner. Two tapes are located in the bottom left and bottom right corners. A single empty wooden chair is in the middle of the room, which is used to hold a kidnapped student.
Gameplay[]
The protagonist can kidnap 10 students and hold them in her basement. If you kidnap a student a box disappears, appearing as a kidnapping location for the Student. They will look at the protagonist and speak when she is nearby.
When the player walks up to the kidnapped victim and presses "E", they are taken to a screen where they can torture the victim for a certain period, or take them to school with them if the victim's sanity is low enough.
When at the stairs of the basement, a HUD pops up of where the player can go. They can either choose to go to the protagonist's Bedroom, Buraza Town, or Akademi. The protagonist cannot go to school at night.
In 202X Mode, Basement Tapes #1 and #2 can be found once Ayano kidnaps a victim. The player can listen to them in the Computer Lab by using the Tape Machine. In older builds, Ayano was also able to pick the tenth tape before its removal.
In 1980s Mode, Ryoba can kidnap the ten richest girls in the school and sell them to The Yakuza, who will hold them hostage until their families pay a large amount of ransom money.

- The protagonist's senpai appears kidnapped in the Genocide ending.
- If more than 2 people are held hostage in the basement, they would try to make escape plans or even comfort each other according to YandereDev.[3]
