Banri Masayuki is one of the male students who attended Akademi in 1980s Mode.
Appearance []
Current[]
Banri has wavy, neck-length auburn hair with several strands flaring out in the back. His bangs are short and swept to the left. He has cyan eyes.
If the player tells him Kaguya Wakaizumi's hairstyle preference in order to matchmake him with her, he will either tie three smalls tufts of hair into a small ponytail with a white hair tie on the back of his head or slick the hair on his right back.
He wears the default 1980s uniform along with a dark grey apron with fruit slices drawn on it.
Previous[]
Before the October 21st, 2024 build, he had straight, shoulder-length black hair. His bangs were separated into three locks - one swept to the right, one laying across the center of his face, reaching his nose, and one being slicked back. Some of his hair was gathered into a small ponytail on the back of his head. He had blue eyes.
Personality[]
A hopeless romantic - always thinking about love. Openly admits the fact that he only joined the Cooking Club because he hoped that learning how to cook would impress girls.
Among the personas that are currently implemented in the game, Banri is a Snitch. If he sees a corpse or witnesses a murder, he will run to the landline phone in the Faculty Room and call the police. He cannot participate in physical fights against Ryoba Aishi unless he witnesses Kaguya's murder.

At 7:00 AM, Banri enters the school grounds. He walks to his Locker at 7:05 AM and changes from his outdoor shoes to his indoor shoes. At 7:15 AM, he walks to the Cooking Club on the first floor and prepare some food there. Then he travels around the school to serve food to various students.
At 8:00 AM, he walks to Classroom 3-1 and sits at his desk. He starts his morning classes at 8:30 AM, and leaves to go back to the Cooking Club at 1:00 PM to eat lunch with the rest of the club members.
He walks back to class again at 1:30 PM and participates in cleaning time between 3:30 PM and 4:00 PM. During cleaning time, he can be seen cleaning windows inside Classroom 3-1.
Afterwards, he heads to the Cooking Club and stays there until the end of the day.
If the Cooking Club is disbanded, Banri will socialize with the other former members in the Home Ec Room during periods in which he would normally attend it.
Week 1[]

During week 1, Banri will deviate from his regular routine to follow Kaguya Wakaizumi around the school from time to time. When he is not stalking her, he will spend time in the Plaza.

Banri has a crush on Kaguya and is her suitor. If he is matched with Kaguya, the two will begin a romantic relationship with each other, which will eliminate Kaguya. If he witnesses Kaguya's murder, he will run to Ryoba and try to apprehend her. YandereDev has stated that after the events of 1980s Mode, Banri approached Kaguya himself,[2] then they married, even though they were never matchmade, and had two kids together. [3][4]

- The "ban" in Banri can be written as "ten thousand" (万), ''companion" (伴), "bonds" (絆), or "too many" (萬). "Ri" can be written as "management" (理), ''village" (里), "gallant" (凛), "interest" (利), or "plum" (李).[6]
- Masayuki is a given name, not a surname. "Masa" can be written in many ways, including "refinement" (雅), "help" (匡), "crystal" (晶), and "truth" (誠). "Yuki" can also be written in many ways, including "snow" (雪), "conqueror" (征), "support" (維), and "fortune" (幸).[7]
- He shares his routine with Kenko Sukoyaka.
- Just like Kenko, Banri will reject any junk food (such as that from the Vending Machine) offered to him.
