The Alphabet Killer Challenge (also known as the ABC Killer Challenge) is a challenge in Yandere Simulator.

To activate the challenge, the player must type A-B-C-D-E-F-G while in the protagonist's room on Monday morning.

Gameplay[]

To beat this challenge, the player is required to kill 79 students in alphabetical order (87 in Custom Mode).

Once the challenge begins, the protagonist will be at her desk in Class 2-1 with a large, pink arrow above her head, pointing to her current target. Every students will already be at school (including club leaders already being in their club rooms), and all the teachers will stay in their respective classrooms and ignore any giggles and screams. Additionally, time does not pass, and there are unique tools available in the Student Council Room.

The player will fail the challenge if the protagonist is apprehended, gets sent to the Guidance Counselor, kills students in the wrong order, attacks a faculty member, lets the police be called, lets a student flee the school, or lets Senpai see them doing something suspicious.

There are several tools in the Student Council room to help player beat the challenge. Whenever they grab or activate any of the items listed below, the difficulty indicator will update and show which difficulty the player is doing the challenge at. The different difficulty levels are:

  • Nightmare (0 cheat objects used)
  • Extremely Hard (1 cheat object used)
  • Very Hard (2 cheat objects used)
  • Hard (3 cheat objects used)
  • Normal (4 cheat objects used)
  • Easy (5 cheat objects used)
  • Very Easy (6 cheat objects used)
  • Extremely Easy (7 cheat objects used)
  • Baby (All cheat objects used)

List of tools[]

Smoke Bombs
Bombs

The player can use three different types of bombs from an infinite source. To drop the bombs, they must press T/hold on the left controller stick. They can only hold one type of bomb at a time, and so they must go to the box of the bomb they are looking for if they want to switch. The smoke cloud produced by Smoke and Amnesia Bombs will last for 15 seconds, while clouds produced by Stink Bombs only last for a few seconds.

The Smoke Bomb obscures the view for any character inside the smoke cloud until they walk past it or the smoke clears away. It is useful for killing students near big crowds or patrolling students. The player can hold five Smoke Bombs at a time.

The Amnesia Bomb gives amnesia to any student that witnessed murder. They will become dreary, similar to when they call a teacher only to find the evidence of a murder was cleaned. It is useful for getting away with murder when caught. The player only hold one Amnesia Bomb at a time.

The Stink Bomb produces a cloud of stink that will cause students to run away for 15 seconds and return to their routine after a few seconds. It is useful for getting crowds or patrolling students away from the current target. The player can hold 5 Stink Bombs at a time.

Puzzle cube
Puzzle Cube

The player can distract a student by giving them the Puzzle Cube. They will attempt to solve it, but will give up after 30 seconds of not succeeding. This keeps them standing still in one spot, and they will essentially not witness any suspicious actions the player performs unless they are extremely obvious. This should prove useful for students that roam around in different sections of the school and also keep them away from their club. The player can put a puzzle cube in a bookbag. The cube cannot be given to Cooking Club members who are walking with food.

The Cleaning Robot
Cleaning Robot

The Cleaning Robot will follow the protagonist wherever she goes, but it will stop working after it has spent a total of 100 seconds cleaning up blood. For this reason, it is advised to use blunt weapons with a stealth attack to avoid leaving blood pools. The robot can be concealed in a bookbag and has a black texture, unlike the Science Club's white robot.

Weapon Bag AKC
Weapon Bag

The Weapon Bag can be used to hide any type of weapon inside it. It is the same bag the Delinquents use for concealing their weapons. Some weapons will clip through the bag due to their size or decorations, but students will not notice this. Press R to wear the bag, 4 to drop it on the ground, E to insert/remove a weapon when it's on the ground, and "Ctrl + R" to insert/remove a weapon while wearing it.

AKC Lockers
Lockers

There will be 90 Lockers scattered throughout the school hallways, where the player can hide the students' bodies. They look identical to the ones inside the Shower Room. The lockers are particularly helpful to dispose of bodies without having to go to either the Incinerator, the Sewer, the Vat of Acid, or the Garden for each eliminated victim, and their abundance makes it easier to hide bodies without being caught. The bodies will still be found if the player attends class, so it is advised not to attend classes if the player wants to hide the bodies in the lockers, especially considering time does not pass in this mode.

Phone jammer
Phone Jammer

The Phone Jammer allows the protagonist to make sure no one can make calls in the school. If someone were to find a body and call the police, they wouldn't be able to, giving the player more time to kill another student or do something else. The Jammer also doesn't give visuals, and it only needs to be activated once.

Cloaking device
Cloaking Device

To activate the Cloaking Device, the player must press Left Ctrl to use or deactivate it. When it is equipped, the protagonist turns invisible and is nigh-invincible. When she murders a student and someone else witness it, they won't know who it was. She can also carry a corpse or stay bloody without anyone noticing her.

YandereDev stated that perhaps the cloaking device could be obtained by joining the Science Club, but can only function for 10 seconds before completely running out of battery life. However, this function has not been implemented into 202X Mode[1].

Sanity Pills
Sanity Pills

When picked up, the Sanity Pills will ensure that the protagonist won't lose any sanity whenever she kills someone. This is especially helpful if the player wants to kill their targets quickly.

Reward[]

"Beating Yandere Simulator".

"Beating Yandere Simulator".

Completing the challenge rewards the player with a simple, interactive face-to-face scene with an incredibly buggy Megami Saikou (previously Osana Najimi before she was implemented) rotating her arms and legs frenetically. It tells the player to press F to kill her, and upon doing so, Megami explodes in a bloody mess with a message congratulating the player on "beating Yandere Simulator".

Trivia[]

  • This challenge was first officially implemented in the April 4th, 2020 build.
    • It was originally a challenge made up by the fans for the Kubz Scouts.
  • During the challenge, Osana Najimi and Raibaru Fumetsu's schedules are adjusted so they are not with each other.
    • Osana now patrols the school, and Raibaru now mourns at the tree she usually talks to Osana.
    • Raibaru now uses the Heroic persona and is as strong as Budo Masuta, so it is possible to directly attack her without getting a Game Over.
  • Senpai cannot be killed in this mode, similar to in 202X Mode; he doesn't appear on the list.
  • Originally, this challenge was not available in 1980s Mode, but was added in the November 5th Bug-Fixing Build and Small ABC Update. Like in 202X mode, it can be activated only on the first day of the first week.
  • In this challenge, the player will have Peak Physical Strength (Level 5 Strength Stat), making it easy to overpower any student who attempts to apprehend the protagonist (except for Dangerous students, as they will still pepper spray the player). The Level 5 Strength Stat also allows the player to quickly pick up corpses.
  • It is possible to play the Alphabet Killer Challenge in Custom Mode, but there will be 87 targets instead of 79, since the teachers must also be eliminated in Custom Mode.
