Extremely proud to be Japanese, and celebrates Japanese culture at every opportunity. Dislikes the influence of western culture in Japan. Determined to master the art of preparing Japanese cuisine.
Ajia striking a cute pose.
Among the personas that are currently in the game, Ajia is a Social Butterfly. She will give Ayano Aishi a cute pose if she aims her phone at her. If she sees Ayano commit murder or discovers a corpse, she will run to a highly populated area within the school and call the police. If Ayano approaches, she will scream for her to go away, and if Ayano commits another murder in her eyesight, she will curl into a ball. She is unable to fight back against the player if she is attacked.
At first glance, Ajia appears to be a kind person. She is extremely proud to be Japanese and takes great pride in Japanese culture. She also considers herself spiritual, but not enough to believe that ramen can make someone dream of their ancestors' memories, but she is willing to find out if it's true.
Although she is genuinely kind, Ajia secretly despises foreigners who treat Japan like a giant amusement park, and wishes for the isolationism of Japan to return, while showing a visible dislike for Western Culture. She even feels disdain for her clubmate, Seiyo Akanishi. This was shown when, if refusing her assignment, she sarcastically says that in an age of science and rationality, she shouldn't expect anyone to take talk of superstitions seriously. She assumes that Ayano is more interested in "eating cheeseburgers" than appreciating the food of "her own homeland," despite Ayano giving her no reason for her to think so. Ajia's dislike for anything related to the West would have her hypothetically throw up from the taste due to the nocebo effect, which causes her to vomit due to a psychological expectation of the food, not the qualities of the dish.[4]
Despite having Ryukyuan ancestry, she feels bad and expresses disappointment while looking at a map of The Japanese Colonial Empire, admiring some of the Japanese leaders of that time, notably Tojo. Despite this, she doesn't wish for Japan to re-attempt global domination in the present.[5][6]
She is wary of foreigners / people praising foreign culture.[7]
Ajia dislikes money because she dislikes anyone motivated by greed.[8] Additionally, she also dislikes Japanese pop or rock music.[4]
She dislikes science because she's spiritual and believes that there are supernatural/metaphysical things that cannot be understood with science.[9] It is also her worst school subject.

Family[]
- Main article: Minor Characters
Ajia's ancestors were Ryukyuan, with a stronger cultural connection to their heritage than to a Japanese national identity. Their family values were shaped by World War 2.
Relatives who lived through the war developed a sense of unity with Japan, seeing themselves as a subgroup rather than a separate people. Ajia's grandfather moved to mainland Japan, assimilated, and married an ethnically Japanese woman. His sons did the same, and in recent generations, the family has identified as Japanese first, Ryukyuan second.
Ajia's unpopular opinions were instilled in her by her parents.[10]
Others[]
- Seiyo Akanishi: Ajia secretly feels disdain for Seiyo since he loves everything she hates; however, she would never openly express it.[11] Ajia's task shows that she has a strong dislike for Western culture, assuming that Ayano is more interested in "eating cheeseburgers" than appreciating the food of "[her] own homeland" if the player chooses not to do her task. This negative nudge may refer to Seiyo, who makes mini-cheeseburgers in the Cooking Club and even enjoys cheeseburgers as his favorite food.[12] She dislikes him way more than she does Fureddo, who's actually American.[13]
- Fureddo Jonzu: Despite being American, Ajia is willing to tolerate Fureddo as long as he is respectful towards Japanese culture and makes an effort to integrate into Japanese society.[13]
- Shozo Kurosawa: Ajia and Shozo normally talk about their favorite Japanese classic films.[14] YandereDev has confirmed that they are not a couple.[15]
- Amai Odayaka: Ajia has known Amai for at least five years.[16]
- Mina Rai: YandereDev thinks Ajia's best friend might be Mina, who is in the Martial Arts Club.[17]
- Saki Miyu: Ajia thinks Saki is a cute girl[18]
- Taro Yamada/Budo Masuta: If Ajia had a crush, it would likely be Taro Yamada, as he has traditional Japanese interests. Budo Masuta would also be a likely candidate as well.[19]
