I don't believe I have said anything "insulting"; nor do I see how you interpreted anything I said as such. I don't think I even included any emotion outside my 3rd paragraph, since prior to that I only state observations/experiences on other wikis and recount some facts.

As for my 3rd paragraph, the emotions I do give are out of genuine concern over the proposed removal of elections and shouldn't be dismissed. It's nice that the community would have a say on demotions, but I hold firm that elections should also be a community choice.

Wiki's which aren't small but allow only their staff to elect the other staff tend to form disconnects and less accountability; where nepotism at best and authoritarianism at worst take hold. When a wiki is very small, such as one for an obscure musical artist, this isn't an issue since it's community is so small but when it's for a fairly well known video game with a more than active community it is an issue. This wiki has been democratic since 2015; to date only 3 staff members have ever been unelected; Ekh, myself, and you Senezala.

Obviously Ekh being the founder and myself being the 2nd staff member ever are fine. Your situation is extra-ordinary since the Wiki Rep messed up and allowed an "adoption" that was invalid. I do not wish to see the number of unelected staff members ever hit 4 or more.

The community should decide who is making decisions for them. You may see it as a "job", but it HAS been a right this community has had since nearly it's founding and to make it into a "job" reserved for when staff can't pick is stripping them of a right.

As for Patrol, this seems like a bug. It was working as I described only a few months ago when I contacted Fandom to give Rollbacks the Patrol rights. On our wiki; Rollbacks have 3 total abilities: Rollbacking edits, Patrolling, and a "mark for deletion" button.

Our wiki does have Patrol enabled, and Rollbacks are marked as "patrolled" and are able to patrol other user's edits. Our wiki has had this enabled for Rollbacks for quite awhile, it is just not the default across Fandom but can be requested. And the extension itself has been enabled for years.

I HEAVILY disagree with us having a system which allows staff to choose staff. That is something the community should decide; this wiki has always been democratic in choosing it's staff and I think it wrong to strip people of that.

Your proposals do not specify who votes in a "staff-only" vote; is it all staff with equal voting power? Is it just admins+? Just bureaucrats? General design changes are also somethings that probably doesn't need a whole wiki-wide vote. The only things I think truly need wiki-wide votes are elections, demotions, and major structural changes.

Editor-only votes is a weird category I've never really seen another wiki have. And you don't specify any requirements to be considered an "editor".

Lastly, am I just an admin now? This was something that was supposed to be answered here but, again, has not been.

@Tuxedoshlyukha As you are aware my authority is limited. The Head Bureaucrat can't just do anything they want, they do not have final say on this wiki but the councils can.

Multiple solutions had been proposed over time and discussed but nothing was ever agreed on. One solution I wanted to instate was the "Council of the Whole"; an alternative to the current suspension policy that would pool all staff into a single council instead of keeping them split between the COA, COTP, or not even being on a council during a time of "crisis"/when things are not working.

Also, I have said I'd be willing to relinquish the title of Head Bureaucrat to Senezala. For aslong as the COA is suspended, that gives her the same additional rights I have while stripping me of them.

And if this passes; what position will I hold if I am not fired? That was never stated anywhere, so if this vote does not say it but I will hold a position still then that is a serious problem with how this entire vote is being done. Some may vote thinking I am being fully removed, some may vote thinking I am merely losing the Head position, some may vote thinking I'll be demoted all the way to Helper.

Senezala, you originally made it clear you did not want to participate in the wiki's decision making. As a result the Council of Administration eventually chose to suspend itself in part due to you being inactive within it.

Within the COA every staff member who is apart of it has an equal vote. You could had proposed policy to the council just the same as myself, or even just voted on what was proposed. Now that the COA has been suspended a year you suddenly want to participate in decision making beyond basic guidelines. And instead of us reforming the council we're going nuclear with my demotion and your promotion.

I have wanted to reform the COA this entire time so that policy can be discussed and changed, but even now you seem to be ignoring my calls to reform it now that you want to participate.

You can't say nothing can be fixed by us both being bureaucrats when you don't even need to be a bureaucrat to contribute to fixing things. Within the COA I would be but 1 vote, same as you.

The most important/vital changes you wanted were getting done until the COA was suspended. Since then you've not really discussed any policy changes with me, only minor guideline ones which do not need council approval. The only real thing that hasn't been continued is further simplification, something we both want but my authority on the matter is limited so long as the COA remains suspended.

I'd like to say that I have no issue with Senezala being a bureaucrat. There's no reason their promotion would require my demotion, though. As Head Bureaucrat while the COA is suspended, all I need to do is open a bureaucrat position and then we have an election for that.

Due to the way this thread has been created, I am unsure that is even possible now due to Fandom's TOS. This proposal is basically now "demote Jack and promote Senezala or let Jack stay and he increases the slots and we do election for Senezala"

I have always been open to changes being made, and I had believed we were finally moving away from stagnation in our staff after several years with the hiring of multiple new helpers. The COTP finally has been reformed and was able to propose something to me which I'm approving of. My own activity has increased as a result of this, though I do regret being inactive the last few days due to a funeral.

If I'm permitted to continue serving this wiki as a Bureaucrat and Senezala becomes one as-well; which of us is the "Head Bureaucrat" is something I'm open to talking to her about and I would be willing to relinquish the title to her.

@Tuxedoshlyukha We already semi-protect many pages, if we semi-protected every character's page then a large chunk of our wiki would be semi-protected; which isn't ideal. If a particular character is targeted more than others, then yes we can do them.

I'm not underestimating, I know how much work that entails. Giving a notice that the page is incomplete is completely fine. Doing so can even help motivate some people to contribute to it.

How you have it set up on the Russian wiki looks fine and even includes transcluding like I suggested, I assumed the Russian wiki didn't have it since you were suggesting scrapping it. The fact the Russian wiki apparently has a finished page could actually aid in improving ours, since it links all the blogs and can be used to cross-check things.

@Ŝenezala I have to disagree. Update history pages are a very common kind of page on wikis. As an example; take the Minecraft wiki. They not only dedicate a page to the history in general, but also a page for each and every single minor tiny update.

That said, I do think the page could use some work; such as splitting it by year into new pages and perhaps transclude them back into the page. Doing that would make editing the entire thing more practical since it's currently 1 massive page.

You can also suggest potential candidates for the intern rank, a honorary rank chosen by the COTP.

If you're interested in being an Intern yourself, consider adding your name to the DoIntern list. It will let the COTP know you're interested.

If, on the other hand, you do not want to be an Intern; please add your name to the DoNotIntern list.

COTP members can endorse and propose things too. If they do, it will become an "Insisted" vote and must be voted on in their next meeting. The Intern can endorse and propose things too, but they can only endorse/propose 1 thing.

Absolutely, I was highlighting that reports should still be made and that normal users shouldn't waste time if the vandal is trying to engage in an edit war. Doing so actually comes with the risk of accidently getting caught in the crossfire. Both wiki staff and automated filters have accidently blocked innocent people during edit wars with vandals.

@Z3N1TY0 While I don't have an issue with someone who isn't staff reverting vandalism, it should still be reported none the less. Additionally, if the vandal keeps re-vandalizing the page it becomes pointless to try and revert it for non-staff and is just a losing battle until staff can intervene.
