I am writing this post to discuss an important topic that could significantly impact this Wiki: the role of Jackboog21.
Jackboog21 currently serves as the bureaucrat and is formally the only admin in the wiki. His responsibilities include managing the government system and wiki staff, maintaining the technical aspects of the wiki, issuing warnings and bans, and ensuring that the templates and design of the wiki are up to date as an administrator. Additionally, he takes on the roles of moderator and helper.
I have two main concerns regarding his ability to fulfil these duties effectively, which leads me to believe that the wiki needs a new bureaucrat.
Exhibit A. Jack has not been active for a significant period. If you examine his contributions[1] and activity[2] pages, you will see that his recent edits are primarily limited to updating staff-related pages and occasionally banning vandals. He hasn't engaged with the community for a long time besides handling the staff team, nor has he made substantial contributions to the wiki for more than three years—his last edit to the main space was in April 2021.[3] The current templates and design of the wiki have been created and maintained by Ŝenezala, as indicated in the main page history[4], background[5] and logo files.[6] The templates are edited and maintained by her and other contributors, which can be seen on the Recent Changes page.[7]
Exhibit B. There are fundamental disagreements regarding how the government system should function. As staff members pointed out in private conversations on Discord, the current system creates unnecessary complications and delays. Unfortunately, Jack has dismissed most of the suggestions and concerns raised.
This is a condensed list of included issues, which are not limited to:
An overly complicated staff ranking system, which *in ideal case* requires a user to wait approximately eight months and up to a year if there are any breaks or delays to become a content or chat moderator. This is the first position that grants technical rights for deleting unnecessary pages and comments, protecting and editing protected pages, or locking posts, but not banning users.
Practically all councils and meetings are either adding to the burden of active staff members or completely inactive.
All voting and meetings use forum - an unofficial recreation of an old feature that was scrapped years ago, unused by anyone except the staff members.
While I am highly appreciative of Jack's contributions and his time at this Wiki, I believe it is time for him to step down from his position. As such, I propose Ŝenezala as a more suitable candidate for the role of bureaucrat.
Reasons for my proposal:
Despite being formally classified as a mini admin, Ŝenezala has the necessary technical rights, which were requested and granted by Fandom staff through an adoption process.[8] Since then, she has been actively working on the wiki as an actual admin despite being qualified otherwise. Evidence of her contributions can be seen in her contributions[9] and activity[10] pages. So, I would like to propose her as a first choice.
The Proposed Summary:
Remove Jackboog21 as the bureaucrat of this Wiki due to the issues stated above.
Nominate Ŝenezala as the bureaucrat to fill in his role.
If you have more than 25 edits and posts in total, your account was created at least a few weeks before this post was published, and you were active at least a month before this post, please vote in the comments below until November 7th. Make it clear who you want to vote for, either by stating their name or by writing out a sentence (ex. “I vote for (NAME) to be the Wiki Bureaucrat”). The participant with the most votes will be appointed as the bureaucrat of the Yandere Simulator Wiki.
